Wow, that turned out awesome! Y'all really do have a great looking, versatile lineup of products. I haven't tried any yet, but I really need to. Hard to know exactly where to start when they all look so good!
It'd be cool to see this up close side by side with quality non tinted carnauba paste waxes on a swirled black panel. For a clear visual of the dye actually making a difference and what can and can't be filled. To be honest, I've never been impressed or even seen much of any benefit to any of the tinted waxes that I've personally tried. I've always thought if a dye filler could actually work, the best place for it is under/in the acyrlic resin, with the LSP on top further locking it in. With clear getting thinner and softer, durable fillers are becoming more and more useful and relevant. Great video, thanks! 👍👌✌
Defo all about the DEPTH!! Nice product and combo. Once you got going with the wax and the homely music started it was like watching a cooking show (only better).
Won't the Guardian last only as long as the Black Diamond underneath it? Most durable products always go on the paint first. Shouldn't we apply the Guardian followed by Black Diamond? My regiment has always been glaze > sealant > wax. Regardless, those are some impressive results.
Yea essentially your “coating” should be underneath all this so: Ceramic Black Diamond Guardian So yes you’re correct, I kinda went away from the durability and more to the looks for this one. If you just had black Diamond and guardian (and don’t forget the acrylics in 403 underneath will give protection too) this would best re applied monthly or bi monthly. Good point though overall
If the DA could damage the acrylics, are we damaging the acrylics by putting it on with a DA? Or, do you mean once it’s on the paint it could damage the acrylics? The latter I believe, just want to clarify. 😊😎
Yea once it’s on the paint it COULD. Running a DA over it probably won’t do anything but then there will be that guy who runs it hot at heck and destroys the acrylics
Semi Bob Ross vibe with this vid - dig it! Will be doing an Xtreme correct and protection stack on my brothers dark gray Explorer soon. Still trying to decide on what stack, but will definitely be using 358... does 358 + Poly Seal provide the same gloss as 357 + Poly Seal? Preceded by 403 of course 😎
As far as paste wax I’m in!! Couple tins of Collinite 476s and Finish Kare 2685 paste in my arsenal Gonna give the Xtreme Ti wax a try on my silver STI
I just revisited this and I'm wondering, with the Black Diamond and then Guardian applied over a ceramic coating, what durability are we looking at for a daily driver in the winter? Would Guardian keep the wax intact for a good 2-3 months? Really enjoyed this video again :)
I've been using P21S carnauba on my red car for about 8 years now with great satisfaction. I think it would be cool to compare your tin wax (like Brazil Tin Wax or similar) against P21. Would Guardian be a good compliment to top up over P21S?
Never used P21S but I’ll check it out. If I had to guess I’m sure guardian is safe over top of it, guardian (since it’s hand applied) it’s very gentle on everything. I’d like to do a big paste wax round up
Magnum requires an IPA and a soft polish pad for application. Machine left on 1 to just apply softly. Goes the same for the black diamond/titanium/PolySeal
I just called the office, the stock we had was sold out after the video was posted. In normal circumstances we can just produce more immediately but what I was unaware of (and this is my mistake) is that the special dye is difficult to get due to covid and it’s effects on the supply chain. I’m told it will be back in stock shortly. For now I’m working on a hack using our titanium and Brazil wax that will yield the same results
@Xtreme Solutions Auto Detail Hi Steve, is there a "Golden Rule" when to deploy Gaurdian over Magnum (or of course ViceVersa) any words of wisdom very much appreciated as they both appear to offer wicked protection & depth of gloss?
Guardian is applied by hand so anytime that’s the desired application method I’d use guardian. Magnum is best applied with a DA. If you want to stack them, then do Magnum first and then place guardian directly on top no cure them needed
@@xtreme_solutions Thanks Steve, Ive got a few cars but one I use daily for pottering about locally is well beyond whatever a detailer could bring back to life ( different coloured panels etc ) so, Ive now got the mechanics sorted & its going to be wrapped in 3M Black Rose (ua-cam.com/video/KqrjUAzs6xc/v-deo.html) & even thou my other cars are coated & in the process of being coated I dont want to go that way with the daily so planning what I need to give her protection & wicked depth of gloss. Any / all thoughts gratefully appreciated.
Either would be fine. Topper is definitely easier to apply, PolySeal will last longer. You already have the depth and gloss of a wax with the black diamond so I’d say leave it to Topper to protect and add some more shine/slickness
It’s not as durable as the fusso coat but it has more richness. It’s illegal for companies in the US to make products with Teflon in this application. That’s the ingredient in Fusso that makes it durable. It’s a cancer causing chemical and not EPA friendly when it washes off.
No problem. Definitely not knocking fusso I have a tin of it and I use it because I love paste waxes but it’s just a different beast that US companies can’t compete with. BUT I feel that we take the cake with depth and gloss
Not sure what PPF is don’t kill me, but really a paste wax like this is safe to put on anything. Some will argue that paste waxes can absorb water and leave spotting on ceramic coated vehicles but I’d say water spots can also be left on ceramic without paste waxes so that’s up for debate. If someone was worried about that just dry the car off and you’re good. So long answer to your question I’m sure it’s safe
That’s a fantastic finish, I’m a big fan of waxes, having a black metallic car,it truly brings out the depth. My favourite over here in the UK is Blackfire Midnight Sun. I can’t find Xtreme Solutions in the UK, is it available?
We do ship to the UK frequently if you email aaron@877askxtreme.com they can help you out with that . I’m going to check out that wax thinking about doing a video with a whole bunch of paste waxes.
Hi Steve, youre making me think I need a black car in my life again, stop it. Without leaving myself to too much ridicule, Black Diamond application appears almost idiot proof in as much as most wax horror stories are either or not buffing off immediately or over applying too much product which certainly doesnt appear with BD.. p.s. your secret is safe with me, I know nothing (think Shultz in Hogan's Hero's, just incase. ua-cam.com/video/UmzsWxPLIOo/v-deo.html)
You can’t mess up black diamond. I used to have a black car and I’d find some areas I didn’t buff completely off like 4 days later and it still just wiped right off. It’s amazing
@@xtreme_solutions Just a thought, they happen every other leap year. I intend to get one of my cars wrapped this year, chosen colour 'Black Rose' & this car wont be going down the ceramic road.. Is BD likely to darken said wrap a little ? (there is no wrong answer, as long as I can get it even) p.s. you wouldnt know Shultz would you, you werent a twinkle in your fathers eye then. :-)
I just put this on my hood!! It was AWESOME!!!
I much prefer detailing hacks as opposed to detailers who ARE hacks. Thanks for sharing 👍
Ain’t they the truth!
There is nothing like paste wax in a tin. It creates a emotional bond between you and your vehicle
Amen brother I’m glad you said that. I’m going to do my hardest to make them cool again!
Bob Ross of detailing..
Thank you for this, very much appreciated.
That is the best compliment I’ve gotten so far thank you ahaha
Woah that stuff brought out SERIOUS richness and depth.. great video man! Paste wax is not dead that's for sure. 👍

You gotta run something really hot or abrasive to fuck up a properly cured and layered acrylic. Love acrylic stuff.
Kero! Mate! I think you just bought me back to wax again👌😁

Great video
Interesting 🤔 I’m getting too old to be applying wax by hand. That usually results in sore muscles for a few days.
Check our older video, “Paste Wax By Machine” you can apply a paste wax via orbital super easy

How long should you leave it on for an why isn't their a picture of it on the web site
Leave it on for just a 5 minutes or so. They’re building a new website most of the pictures are down for some reason

i would go ceramic coating then Guardian then Black Diamond for the stack
@@xtremesolutions5219 Thanks, that's the order I had in mind! I guess there's no workaround for added durability with a show-level wax like BD :)
Great info 👍
Lol we licked it not me we lol 😆😂 but overall great tips and video
Protect and optimizing with out correcting is a good philosophy clear coats are too thin these days.
What are your thoughts on applying this over a sealant or coating? Thanks for your knowledge!
My apologies, I jumped the gun before the video was finished🤬😉
Big fan of 403 and 404 do I have to wait for curing before applying a paste wax or liquid wax either synthetic or carnuba.
Nice question answered
Thank you cure time is only for detergents, cleaners, panel preps and IPAs
