This is positively addictive. Thank God it isn't illegal.
Exotic harpsichord timbre coupled with the wildly dynamic Soler. What an exquisite treat. Jean's sensibility is flawless and exciting. Rocks!!
Szkíták zzenéje. Csak magyarul érthető a szóis. Fandangó: fán dobogón való ritmos kidongatás, kitáncolás.
I can't stop listening to Jean Rondeau!
Im olsow...

what a gloriously incoherent piece of music. It sounds like a composition for street organ. Or someone with mad skills, high as a kite. Wonderful playing.
You can almost picture the old man tottering along the endless corridors of the Escorial, bumping into walls ...
I used to have a piece by this composer for a type of organ that resembled street organs, and that is exactly what his composition sounded like.
His tempo is as it should be, any slower would sound muddy. Yes, street music, but that’s what a fandango can be.
Add some cascabels and it will make sense

Bravo!
I've always loved this piece, but I've never seen it performed. This is amazing. ❤️
Hi, I think you will love to hear it and see the performance from one of the best artist in my sens, scott ross, there is the link enjoy it

Bravo l'artiste.

As many others have said it is fairly fast, in fact listening to it to the end it feels very much like a dance (which it is), you can almost picture the figures swirling, bowing, caught in the moment.
For the harpsichordist, this must feel like a marathon! But it is mesmerizing for this listener.......
I don't even know how this was possible. Both the composition and the execution. Pure ecstatic musical madness! My mind is officially blown.
Absolutely FANTASTIC!!!!!!!
Rondeau is the best Harpsichordist of the past 40 years & likely there's nobody who will surpass him this century.
Padre Soler wrote this piece to be entertaining. It emulates, using a harpsichord, the sound of a flamenco guitar with fast finger work duplicating the strumming of the guitar strings. The piece is not cast in stone but is a framework for improvisation. What the harpsichordist does with it is the product of his skill and creativity. Jean Rondeau is blessed with both.
Flamenco guitar did not exist when Antonio Soler lived. The only guitar at the time was the 5 course baroque guitar...
@@Alvar2001 that is exactly what i wrote you must be responging to Geoffrey
@@ThibautKurt23

Padre Antonio Soler composed the best Fandango I've ever heard. Jean Rondeau performs it with the madness and brilliance it deserves. Bravissimo!
An amazing performance by a beautiful musician!
Thank you to all the artists of the world that share us the results of thousands of hours of study and practice.
Magnifique! Bravo et merci!
Excellent!!!!!!!
.... a great performance Padre
I'm so glad Soler's wonderful Spanish music has come to light. I first heard his wonderful music on Jonathan Woods' great London/British Decca album, and I am a fan. Spanish keyboard music of this era is a wonderful treat.
That was an incredible performance. Padre Soler on Speed!
Both composer and player are exceptional ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for your reply
Absolutely astonishing performance. As I listen to this piece, I hear a composer, who was also a priest, lost in ecstatic spiritual ecstasy. The quality of the composition is improvisational. It doesn't follow conventional form. It flows endlessly like a grand waterfall - always changing form, shape and texture - yet it all makes organic sense. This could ONLY be music that was composed under the influence of a man spiraled up into a vortex of spiritual bliss and ecstasy.
Toujours le même bonheur à vous réécouter. Merci Jean.
A wonder to listen to, a pleasure to watch. Thank you!
Quel Géniale interprétation d'une Oeuvre fantastique!!!! Bravo Jean !
Brilliance and a breathtaking technique! Added to that, what astonishing stamina!
Bravissimo Monsieur Rondeau!
I've been listening to the harpsichord works of Bach, Handel , Rameau etc. After hearing this I never knew harpsichord music could be so wild, for want of a better term!
Adictiva !! No puedo dejar de oirla . Soberbia obra . Bravo Jean Rondeau !!
y bravo a Padre Soler
Phénoménal... Bravissimo!!!!!!
Merci
How could anyone object to this performance. It always was a virtuoso piece. Truly exciting. Definitely my favourite performance of this work.
Magnificent performance and interpretation. Jean Rondeau is a truly virtuoso, after his brilliant interpretation, I will never want to hear Pe. Soler being played otherwise.
God-given talent!
Thenk You!
Isten adta tehetség!
Köszönet érte.
Very nice piece of music from Padre Hendrix
lol Padre Hendrix, Padre Soler était intemporel c'est vrai !
:)))))
Do you mean that Padre Jimmy Hendrix should be able to compose such a genial music ? This is a very pretentious assertion..
Are you comparing Hendrix with Padre Soler ?
@@patrickkerrigan4837 The real name of Padre Soler is Antonio Francisco Javier José Soler y Ramos but not Padre Hendrix- Previous to give an opinion about my commentary, you should had to read first the opinions before mine. But i coudn't compare Padre Antonio Soler with Hendrix, from both of them two it's not difficult to conclude who was the genius.
C'est surréaliste, magnifique.
Yes you play fast, but this is a wonderful interpretation of this piece. Absolutely fantastic!
¡Y cómo pude olvidar a Boccherini!
This is simply brilliant!
Stunning performance. Wonderful improvisations. Colorful dynamics. Bravo!
Felicidades, Jean!
Welcome in the 21st Century, Father Soler. Very contemporary interpretation. Bravo, Jean!
It's jazz!
A legjobb Fandangó előadás, amit halottam Soler feldolgozásból.
Köszönet a kiváló előadásért.
Absolument manga ...
Astonishing! Solér ROCKS!
Amazing interpretation. Great!
Verdadero gozo compositivo, interpretativo, y auditivo.
Because of the complexity of this piece, this was one of the rare occasions that Rondeau used a score rather than play from memory
fantastico
A Talent who seems to have sneaked away from the past and is travelling to the future through his interpretation. Bravo!!!
Phenomenal! ❤
A performance to rank with other greats like Puyana, Ross. The notes on a page only go so far, and if the harpsichord is not to be just another piece of history, gathering dust in a museum, we must have interpreters and interpretations such as these.
Excelente!
Extraordinario! genial gracias por compartir
Maravilloso! Enhorabuena : )
Jean Rondeau is one the best hapsychordist . He is not lost but perfect on his hapsychord. I like very very much Antonio Soler

Absolutely true.
The best hapsichordist is Scott Ross

versión personal pero muy idiomática.... me encanta!
Quite a performance! Somewhere around minute 7 he turns it into something that almost sounds like jazz. Perhaps too fast, but never a dull moment with Rondeau.
Viva España! Bravo Jean!
Great jazz improvisation at 6:10 and a steady ground bass. Wonderful performanc indeed. I am still hooked to Scott Ross and Rafael Puyana's performances but this one is great too in my perspective.
the performance was fantastic. thank you.
Jean, please put this in an album so I can buy it!
A favorite work. Thanks
Takin' a ride, man, takin' that ride !!!
Magnifique... A tout point de vue!!!!! J'adore tout simplement!
I believe no Padre Soler nor Scarlatti would play it that way, but I still find this interpretation impressive. Its obvious that the approach to music changes in each generation. This version is modern (as of the year 2015), but in this case, 'modern' doesn't mean 'bad'.
It sounds like Padre Soler influenced by disco music of the 2010s
+TgTedus Neither Soler or Scarlatti are playing here. Jean Rondeau is. He'll get criticism no mater how he does it, so he might as well do is as he likes it.
Maybe they didn't play that way in their time, but, maybe in their time, they were not that serious we now imagine. To compose that music their music, thay should have as unbelievable as Jean Rondeau is now ... they should have made people crazy ... it's a music that moves in itself....
I can't recognize what it seems I said above....But, you are right, I talked with a friend of mine who is both a pianist and a musicologist : and he said this rendition is absolutely fascinating, brilliant and Jean Rondeau plays is extremely well.
But reading my previous opinion, maybe what I said was not that clear . because I actually did mean exactly what youu say yourself. I said "they didn't play the serious way" I meaned "playing exactly what is written in the sheet; nothing else. I know in the former the, note every note was written ... Well I agree you, except that I didn't mean what you think ...
But I agree what you say, except that I didn't mean what you suppose .Maybe I wasn't clear enough..
I know not every note that was not written in that time.
Then I talked with a friend of mine who is both a pianist and a musicologist and he told me he found this rendition absolutely fascinating, and marvellous, very living.
I said "they didn't play that serious way we imagine", that means "they didn't play it in a boring way",( many people imagine ancient music) or "without any fantasy" ( people believing they only play the notes that are written". But I never pretend I am a specialist, of course . I love the way Jean Rondeau play it...
Magnificent performance and interpretation.
Bravo
A very nice rendition.Bravo !
Esta obra es una grandísima belleza.
VIVA! GRANDE SOLER!

After Scarlatti...
Gracias por subir esta interpretación.
Quel talent ! Bravo !!!
Why People can't seem to grasp that this piece is played in the idiom of baroque indulgence, excess, improvisation, sexuality,... and passion, do we think the caricature of the era must be forced on the reality? Excellent performance. My favorite performance of Fandango, by Soler nwas a concert , broadcast by WNYC in the early 1980's. I have looked for it in vain: Elizabeth Churchnacko, (spelling????), in which the left hand figure, pulsed like rapids in a river , lyrically, and undulating, in a very lively, and wonderful way , the likes of which, I have never heard again...!!!! But this one is very spectacular, and imaginative, and firey.! ! !
Maybe you meant this artist:

Yes, Yes, Yeeesssssssss! Raw, sexual, sensual, hot, skilled... the music is just so alive. I believe Padre Soler would be very proud of this young man playing the way he has and does and would give a big nod of approval. Crazy Baroque Music for a Crazy Baroque period. Thank Jean Rondeau x
