Bill gates once said about Indians using pirated Windows for home PCs that as long as it is Windows, he doesn’t care. His idea was that if people are familiar with Windows since beginning, they would want Windows on their office computers which anyways are obligated to have a legal operating system. What a genius! His strategy certainly did pay off in the long term.
Agree. Windows provides amazing customization. I remember for playing project IGI on Pentium-III 600 MHz, 64 MB RAM, 4 GB HDD, I used to close all processes including explorer.exe from task manager and then run the game exe separately. Good old days :)
Lack of upgradability is the main reason I don't buy macs for professional use. Last year I tried buying an M1 Air 16 GB but most of the stores were selling the 8GB variant only and there was no option to get the RAM upgraded in the future, so I ended up buying a heavier MSI laptop which later I upgraded to 48GB RAM.
@@souravkumaragarwal Macs used to be like that, especially their Pro series products. I owned a Mac Pro tower till 2015, it had amazing upgradability options, even my dad's 2014 Macbook is upgradable but sadly these days Apple is all about making life difficult.

Been using both laptops currently, frankly for office use also I prefer windows just coz of Excel and other 10000s of shortcuts that are easy and logical. I have literally never gone to a site to look for windows shortcut coz its very logical to figure out if you have basically figured first few shortcuts. Just that I dont like restarting Windows after long sessions/multiple hibernations/sleep cycles. Mac can stand weeks without restart or lags.
Weeks doing what? In math and engineering windows runs for weeks and months doing complex math and physic simulations. Why do you think most apps in math science are not developed for mac.?
As a mac user I agree to all the things he said especially the fact that many games don't run at the computers full extent. Macs aren't for gaming and they weren't designed for it.
For me, the only advantage of using Windows is for gaming. In other areas, I usually don't compare them unless someone forces me to, in which case, both have pros and cons and it entirely depends on the user and the use case. So, for me, gaming=Windows and other purposes=Mac and Linux.
For some reason I find macOS to be unusable. Like alt+tab doesn't work, windows don't have any proper first party tiling support. However, I do like that it's posix compliant. For my PC, it's Windows for gaming and Linux for other purposes.
@@Chopper153 For switching between applications, if you understand the shortcut I would say Mac is actually better than Windows. The reason is it has 2 separate shortcuts. One is cmd+tab to switch between windows from other applications. And cmd+~ to switch between windows of the current application. After all, the trackpad and gestures are the best in Mac. Try using it and you will never want to leave it.

I built my own large Windows system back in 2020 before prices of components went crazy. And then I ran into a serious problem with virtual desktops with multiple monitors. Microsoft said that they would fix it in a Windows 10 update. They didn't. Then they said that it would be fixed in Windows 11. It wasn't. I don't think that they've given a new date for fixing it. It's a major issue for me so I bought an M1 mini, then an M1 Pro MacBook Pro 16, and then a Mac Studio so I spent about $4,500 on Apple Silicon Macs. I still have the Windows desktop but I haven't turned it on for several months. I am quite happy with macOS performance, but, in particular, performance per watt. The main issue is called Independent Virtual Displays. The problem is that Windows treats all of your monitors as a virtual desktop. So changing to another virtual desktop changes all of the monitors. I generally want to just change the virtual desktop on one monitor and keep the rest pinned which macOS does - and it has done this for at last back to 2010. Regarding upgrading Windows desktops: it used to be that the Intel would keep the same socket for many years so you could upgrade the CPU pretty easily, but they've been obsoleting motherboards at a much faster pace which means that you have to replace the motherboard and CPU, and maybe the RAM as well. Motherboards have gotten much more expensive, kind of like GPUs. Nobody wants to serve the budget customer. The killer aspects of macOS is Apple Silicon hardware with custom silicon for video production and other things with the promise of more custom functionality in the future. What's rather insane is that my MacBook Pro 16 fans run at 0 RPM the vast majority of the time. Even when doing video editing. The battery life is insane for casual use and excellent for my professional use. I still also do like Intel Macs. I bought a 2015 iMac 27 inches 5k screen for $200 two weeks ago. It runs my office stuff just fine and $200 for a 5k monitor is a literal steal. And I get great speakers, a microphone and video camera. I had been looking to add a Dell Ultrasharp 27 inch 4k but those are $600. So I run production on the Studio and office stuff on the iMac. The first priority in choosing a system, whether it's a Windows PC, Mac or an Exadata server, is whether or not it will run your software. And then how well it will run your software. If it doesn't run your production, then there's no need to buy it unless you want to run in a mixed environment. Then the other decisions come into play. I have done hackintoshes in the past to try to get better hardware to run macOS and did use it for a while but there is a degree of maintenance that you have which can be unpleasant at the wrong minute. Apple has made it harder for the OpenCore folks with Ventura and I think that it only gets harder from here as Apple obsoletes more and more Intel Macs from operating system updates and maintenance support. One of the problems that the OpenCore folks had with Ventura was AVX (not sure if 1 or 2) support. You always worry that a maintenance update will brick your system too. I hang oout on r/mac and answer questions there. Same thing on MacRumors. There is an active community of volunteers that answer questions. My oldest Mac in current use is a 2010 iMac 27. It runs High Sierra and I use it to watch videos while spinning. That iMac has an infrared remote control, handy for skipping, changing the volume and pause/resume. I picked it up for $100 a couple of years ago. That's what people do who want a Mac but can't afford current prices of new models.
This is one of the most honest comparisons of windows & MacOS. MacOS is focused on creativity but at the cost of productivity. A couple of other points - 1) No option to just a paste a file path while downloading a file into a non-default folder. Drag & drop is the only option. 2) Even for basic softwares like Excel a lot of keyboard shortcuts are missing. 3) Illogical placement of Fn key & the media / sound control keys. You can't do that that with a one-hand operation.
1)I beg to differ Copy and past with the shortcut of folders/files works just fine and for the who don’t know you can use cut as well after holding on the option key 2)I personally use Sheets so I m not sure about excel 3) I can agree to this

Since I switched to Mac, I wont go back to Windows. Mac fits absolutely best into my workflow. One big thing I experienced in switch is stability of OS. Mac is far stable than Windows, and you can not spot stability difference in review video, for that you at least need to use both for few months. For example, I had to restart top end dell business series windows laptop at least once in 2 weeks, other wise it gets laggy, slow, heating. Where as in Mac I dont restart at all. I have been using mac from last 2 years and I didnt restarted at all except few os updates, and it still works as new, fast quite, cool.
@Domo N Car yes, I also used Ubuntu for 6 months. But I look for stable and productive machine. And I can surely say that Linux was not productive for me. I don't like to waste time in tiny stuff like installing software and read through documentation how to install and other super user things. I used all 3 major OS and Mac suited me best from all. One of my gamer friend was Windows fanboy. He got Mac pro M1 pro chip from work. After 2 months he bought iPhone, Apple watch. Now he use his Windows machine for just gaming only. For work purposes no one can beat Mac. It's has so many handy productive features. And on top of that, whatever you open it won't freeze, instantly opens. I personally has more than 200 chrome tabs opened forever, in my Macbook air M1
@@akhilramani5215 U work is based on creative side. Try to run scientific software's, database software's, server software's, 3d rendering and games then when can see who is the boss. Mac is a joke when it comes these fields.
@Anoop M No bro, I'm also programmer. Running dockers instances locally for DB and other apps, and those stays up forever, for many days up I need them.
@Anoop M And if you don't mind, may I ask a direct question? have you ever used Mac for at least a month? If not, try that. And practically, no body is doing all the tasks you have mentioned. So, pick a niche field, if you need to use Tensors for training and all. Buy Windows with nvidea card. But that also in practicality, no body is doing AI model training locally in own computer. If you work in companies doing that work, most of the time they do these models training on cloud on high end machine. And they only need to pay for time it's being used.
I was a windows user and started using mac and was amazed by it's performance and never looked back. With Mac you get the power of linux too. No matter how much pricey windows laptop you buy overtime it becomes laggy, applications being stuck, not responding even Microsoft's own Teams brings down the performance of Windows. Never had any issues with Mac, no laggy applications even after opening multiple tabs. More RAM does mean more power. Mac's or iphones manage RAM better than Windows or Android. The only plus point is Gaming I agree. But if you Dual Boot a windows OS on a Mac laptop, gaming is awesome. But gaming on laptop, we have xbox and PS5 and anybody serious into gaming would shell down that extra cash and buy them rather than gaming on Windows. I personally don't believe the points mentioned here makes a strong point for Windows. Mac is wonderful in all sense and the silicon chips take Macs leaps and bounds ahead of Windows. My personal opinion, will never use Windows if given an option, the only reason I use windows is due to office work. For All my personal work development, video editing or even basic everyday use I would prefer Mac. Yes it's pricey but it delivers. Windows or Mac I don't see why the debate. I'm very long Window user since 2006 since when i switched to MacOS i wish, I should've switched to MacOS sooner. Windows i've always face many software issues and my productivity got killed because of it. It's an apples & oranges comparison, it really depends on what you use it it for. If you're a developer or doing any creative work, Macs are greatly superior (unless you work on legacy development projects, then you're stuck with Windows sadly). The developer experience on the new M series chips is nothing short of sublime, they are incredibly fast and can run all day on a single charge with full performance. My Windows laptop is gradually being pushed further and further away from my developer tasks :) Plus I cannot stand noisy fans, that's a big factor, my MBP is mostly silent. Absolute bliss.
I've bought a maxed out MacBook for development. It's a waste of money. It has a pathetic windows management software. The ease at which windows can be managed in windows OS and other open source distros like Ubuntu is unparalleled
Thank you so much for such an informational video, waiting for mac os pros over windows videos, so I can decide which laptop should I purchase as a Btech student.
3 out of 7 reasons are hardware, not software, and the others, not all (he is right about gaming) are done differently on Mac that on Windows, and this is very subjective, so the reasons you said are not good, there might be others but those are not it
I might have to disagree with a few points like the mac os system being difficult to use, I used to use windows laptop before i got my M1 and as soon as I shifted towards mac os I think things have gotten easier for me because it works quite like an iPhone and of course then there is the apple ecosystem where you can send photos, videos and files from iPhone to your mac with just one click. i used windows all my life still there were so many things that i couldn't do because of the complexity however apple makes such things a kid's game. currently, i am using M2 and the battery life is incomparable to any windows laptop out there
Been a life long windows user, transitioned to Macbook air 6-7 months ago. Needless to say, the price to performance ratio you now get with M1 as opposed to intel or even ryzen is unparalleled. M1, a 2 year old chipset would out compete the latest intel or ryzen chips even now, and the battery efficiency on macs are next level (17+ hrs of power backup plus no performance drops when unplugged from charging, as opposed to windows where the laptop starts to heat up and drops performance significantly, and M1 MacBook air doesn't even have a fan). If you're a gamer then you obviously go for Windows but as far as professional work goes, from video editing to music production, the base model macbook air that you can now get for about 75k after discounts, will smoke a 1 lakh windows laptop.

I just LOVE the amount of fanboys here saying that it is a troll question, of Windows being inferior to Mac in one or multiple ways. Apparently as an iPhone and iPad user, I personally prefer Windows over MacOS, why? 1: More customization 2: Better for taking documents 3: Better for gaming 4: Can run on any other computer that doesn’t come with Windows. I personally love the iMacs and MacBooks, but I have been using Windows for 12 years (HP Pavilion Dv6) and had no issues with it. It runs smooth, fast and sufficient for gaming. Apparently if you use a Mac for some hours then the computer is prone to overheating, since the air vents aren’t sufficient. If you are looking for a computer with the 4 reasons listed above, then get a Windows

I am using macbook pro for 3 years. It has never hanged or lagged even once. Before that i was using lenovo with windows. It was also good, but windows os did gave me hard time many times.
the main thing keeping me from getting a Windows Desktop/Laptop is the maintenance required for windows compared to Mac, like anti-virus or software updates, etc.
All good points but I have to disagree with the argument at 9:13 regarding using cmd+tab as an equivalent for alt+tab on Mac, because there's Mission Control on Mac for which there's a dedicated button on the keyboard or can also be brought up using three finger swipe up. Swiping up with three finger to show all windows is there on Windows also but in my experience I didn't find it to be as smooth as on Mac.
M1 can’t be upgraded but you can play 8k footage in realtime in a video editor like davinci without any framedrops🔥. M1 could smoke the high end cheasegrater mac pro. That level of power and efficiency was never heard from any of the laptops. 17hrs of battery backup is just insane.

Bill gates once said about Indians using pirated Windows for home PCs that as long as it is Windows, he doesn’t care. His idea was that if people are familiar with Windows since beginning, they would want Windows on their office computers which anyways are obligated to have a legal operating system. What a genius!
1)I beg to differ Copy and past with the shortcut of folders/files works just fine and for the who don’t know you can use cut as well after holding on the option key
2)I personally use Sheets so I m not sure about excel
3) I can agree to this

Since I switched to Mac, I wont go back to Windows. Mac fits absolutely best into my workflow. One big thing I experienced in switch is stability of OS. Mac is far stable than Windows, and you can not spot stability difference in review video, for that you at least need to use both for few months. For example, I had to restart top end dell business series windows laptop at least once in 2 weeks, other wise it gets laggy, slow, heating. Where as in Mac I dont restart at all. I have been using mac from last 2 years and I didnt restarted at all except few os updates, and it still works as new, fast quite, cool.
Seriously try Linux (I suggest kubuntu, or any KDE based distro). The Linux stability is on another level.

At last bro edited this entire video on MacBook 😂😂😂

I hate to say it but we as consumers should be focusing on computers that come with no OS actually. Preinstalled Windows just adds up to the price of the device. Let the customer choose what OS he would install into it.

Hahaha have you used excel on Mac and Windows? The difference is night and day. Excel is no existing on Mac with literally no functions. Even office 360 has more options on web
@@prakharchawla Yes I have used, My Windows PC with Ryzen 9 5900X and 16GB Ram takes 30 minutes to complete an Excel Formula, I went ahead and opened the Task Manager to find only one core being utilized by Excel, Am using Excel 2021. I am not saying Windows Excel doesn't have options/features. I am saying it doesn't utilize all the core.
PS : That excel formula gets completed in Google Spreadsheets much faster, YES IT IS A BIG FORMULA WITH EVEN BIGGER DATA.
BTW, I don't like Mac.
@@alexmercer3001 haha bro i thought you were serious earlier. Coz 30 mins for 1 formula is either you joking or you don't know how to use excel or you must be ignorant of other options like SQL
None of my professionally used VBA/macro coded excels ever take 30 mins. Lolll
P.S. - MS office 360 is cloud based office solution similar to Google sheets but much advanced. Peace !!
@@prakharchawla Yes, I never have thought of using MS 360, I will try from now on. BTW, Excel uses only one core, any idea how to increase it?. And I work with multiple languages, and Excel takes so long just to find and replace some content in 56000 cells(per column, and total of 13 columns, each cell containing not more than 500+words) that contain data in other languages. How to make it faster?
I use Windows and andriod phone for work, Google calendar for work shcedules also, and live in the Apple ecosystem for my personal photos, calls, etc. I keep them totally separate and life is so good!

good you didn't talk about the battery😂
Good, you should read the title again.😂
We can view all windows of an application using a gesture etc
The big fact is - People just ignore laptops like the Samsung Book2 Pro, ZenBook OLED, Surface Laptop, which are thin, light, better built, more powerful and offer similar battery, and just think of Windows as only clunky heavy HDD-based plastic machines.
That's why people have ridiculous ideas that Mac is the best. Mac has advantages, but people are plain delusional when it comes to Mac.
Slim windows laptops are the worst. Arm based processors gives much better performance per watt. Without fans for cooling Arm is at advantage.
@@xiswalder1943 Keep dreaming.
ARM has advantages, but delusion like yours isn't the solution. ARM has as many downsides as well.
And if you think that a good 1.2kg laptop, with 8-12h battery, superior performance with ability to run most apps is "the worst", compared to another laptop that can get 1h extra battery with no fans, lesser performance, inability to run certain apps and millions of other downsides..... You're just proving my point. Delusion.
@@nikhilpaleti3872 did you not learn to speak politely? And if ARM has downsides, technical aspects aside windows won't be begging to run on arm. Do some research.
@@xiswalder1943 You talk so highly of politeness while you don't speak polite either. What a surprise.
And again, I am not saying ARM is only downsides. You ARE delusional if you can't accept something has flaws, which you repeatedly are doing.

I feel may items on this list is basically how windows devices are better than mac devices... not how windows OS is better than MAC OS. like we can adjust with the non-upgradability, lack of ports etc., as many people just need a type c port, or can adjust with airdrop.
like there are cool features on the windows OS that MAC cannot, like
1. WSL and WSA -> Linux and android Apps with UI on windows, and it is fast, uses much less resource, and behaves like all the windows app, and you are at home, and can run like any software, that is not created for iOS or MAC OS, just like it is a native APP. I use it in an 8GB RAM laptop, and it didn't eat half as much RAM as I expected.
2. 3rd Party Customizer Apps
anyone who have used apps such as ultimate windows manager, windows debloater etc. Knows how far you can customize every Aspect of your Laptop
3. Quick assist
Much better than team viewer, and works better in even lower signals than before, and as it comes as a first party App, it doesn't annoy you asking permissions for anything and everything
and many other features, which may not be as useful for everyone as it is for me.

I have a Base model MBA M1 and a Dell Inspiron (with a quad core i5 CPU, 16 Gigs of RAM and 1TB of NVME ssd). Both costed the same. MacOS is way ahead of Windows. I've been using Windows from Win95 and I have grown up using it. MacOS did have its learning curve. Things simply work in a Mac. No need to install drivers or wait endlessly for software updates. Internet browsing with a couple of word documents heats up my Dell Laptop whereas MBA is cool as a cucumber.
On an apple to apple comparison w.r.t pricing (no pun intended), a Mac offers more usability when compared to Windows. Apple has changed the game after their proprietary M series of processors have come out. The best part, I can run a VM within Mac for my windows exclusive softwares.
And the battery life lasts an eternity!
If you have the money, go for a Mac.
the advantages of M series mac is the M CPU a.k.a mobile CPU...desktop environment MacOS gone dead I mean those imac and M1 mac mini
other than that nothing impressive about mac
the ventura update is big mess
video editing/animation Nvidia Intel > M1 no matter how good apple claim is
coding and programming > windows/linux subsystem so > over MacOS unless you're coding for iphone and ipad apps
Music production or DAW and etc cross-platform like CUBASE Abelton and reaper destroyed Apple Logic Pro in term of raw performance
Video editing look Davinci Resolve/AVID media composer > Final Cut Pro
V-ray/Cinema 4D/ Unreal engine / Nuke / Redshift / OTOY destroy M1 mac due to weak it GPU...if you call optimization is lame answer...why?
Optimized metal API by apple RE village can't beat Nvidia/Intel machine ? lolz

Bro! GTA V is a 9 years old game. Next September it will be a decade old.
Ask any Mac OS user, they will tell you how easy it's to use when compared to Windows OS!!!! Mac OS has better features and everything comes with a higher price!!! The PC users in India are used to using Windows OS for a longer time, so they say Windows is better than Mac OS!!!😢😮😢😮😢😮😢😮.
You haven’t used both together I guess. While Macs are good they literally are a nightmare when you encounter issues. The UI for windows is much better. Though I prefer to use Mac for their battery life and for switching between multiple screens.
Wasn't this uploaded yesterday?
Your taskbar suggestions got my laptop to bootloop and I had to recover everything from it...... I hope you suggest better apps in the future
Finally someone who doesn't sees the shiny ketalic apple logo and price tag and fawns over it, like windows is so much more practical for professional use.
I bought my MacBook Pro several months ago. I honestly don't like it, but I use it anyway because I paid a lot of money for it. The one thing I like most about it is that it gives me a sense of belonging. I love walking into a coffeeshop and being amongst a bunch of fellow Apple users.
PEOPLE IN INDIA USE MAC OR ANY APPLE DEVICE JUST A STYLE STATEMENT BCOZ IT HAS GOT THE ASPIRATIONAL VALUE ATTACHED TO IT
Windows 🙌🏻
It depends on your work flow. Most of my studies and work done outside home. There is no way for windows to stay for almost a full day like a Mack book air M1 or m2.
mac is the worst
4:25 the obsession is real
I prefer Mac, because of its window management, how it works, very smooth and satisfying. Also there are a lot of useful tools which will make your life easy. You can use mouse apps, in order to control your mac only with a mouse. I like the fact that I could not play games on it, I can easily get addicted and spend a lot of time on it.

🤣🤣🤣the reason you gave for gaming is so so so stupid that i could die laughing. it only needs a mac fanboy to make such illogical reasoning
@@ihanan man I am not that type of iSheep, I am using Oneplus, I don't have Apple Watch or Airpods, i have two laptops windows and mac, I needed compact and powerful laptop, that is why I bought Macbook Air. Also as i said my BIG PROBLEM IS GAMES, I cannot control myself you can laugh but it is a big illness, on Windows can you give me one example that costs 1000$, powerful which can run video edit apps and quickly render it, light weight (1-1.5kg), with a good screen, with up to 8hour work time AND then I looked at MacOS, it is very smooth just try to change desktop on windows it will do it without animation and with lags, on Mac there is no such issues(such laptops on Windows cost 1500$), BUT it has problems with Bluetooth connection. For me OS is more preferable over other features.
Lmfao the reason you gave for not being able to game on it 😂😂😭👍
there is something called Mission control
If microsoft made a version of windows for devolopers , like with git pre installed , a terminal with bash shell like git bash but by microsoft,python,c/c++ , java pre installed or say option through thet terminal(yes or no type),vs code pre installed.
