Hey Björn. It is so funny: My wife was so annoyed, evertime I tested another EV. But when it comes to the EQS, she reacted in the same way as your wife. Now we have an EQS 450+ and both are so happy with it. BTW. Full throttle on an german Autobahn brings you 270 km range and costs 80% battery. Consumption was 27-29.
Wauw - Norway is so beautiful 👍 Love this Sunday roadtrip. And the music just fits in beautifully with the landscape... Thankyou Bjørn for taking the time...
Heyda @Bjørn Nyland , thanks for this funny ride you took us with you. The country, and the car as well ;-), seems to be as great as the people says. Btw: got a recommendation to checkout your channel - it was a good advice! It is (!) a pleasure to join your audience -> you've got a new fan :-) Have a nice week, kind regards from Germany, Jo
Oh, this brings back memories. Spent two weeks in this area with my Tesla Model 3 back in June. I could drive those roads all day long. Sveler is so delicious 😋
Bjorn, I have a question. In countries where they drive on the left side of the road and the driver is on the right side of the car, would the right side be the right side for the charge port?
I rather have the charge port on the passenger side of the car because of public parking alongside street. Otherwise the cable sticks out on the road and could be hit by bicycles and cars. On the front and the charge port freezes and therefore can't be opened like on our e-Niro once had
@@Old-Bald-and-Grumpy We need chargeports on the following locations: front-left, rear-left, rear, rear-right, front-right and front. Every customer should be happy then. Ok, maybe not the customers who prefer a low price since having 6 chargeports costs some money.
Great Video Bjorn. As a previous comment said great looking country and those tunnels you went through (blue lighting also look eerie (spooky), not sure why you would think of leaving, you are at the home of EV's. Keep up the great Sunday driving in the daylight if possible.
In german (don't even go there I'm austrian gawd damit) there is the term "leider Geil" which realy says it all :) Sidenote: Watching your long range tests I always think to myself that I could never - after maybe 7h of driving at the latest I would bail tf out. Well, thanks for doing that so I don't have to :)
Well done on the range reached! This trip includes some elevated areas and A/C use but was favored by good weather, average cruising speed around 80-90 km/h and less traffic. With your driving experience, do you see any possibilities for more range on this car? E.g. how would flat areas and no A/C (if weather permits) use affects this range?
Really nice scenery Björn, one day I must come and drive those roads. About the test - I am really impressed with range, EVs are going to overpower ICE in next 10+ years. Batterys are going better and better, and that's only reason why EVs are still not fully prepared for take over the mainstream.
It would be interesting to ask Tesla engineers what made sense to them to install the charge port on the left side and not on the right side. it was probably the best strategy on the vehicle design along with the supercharger infrastructure in mind and last maybe the convenience to the driver close to the charge port. But what if they would have placed the charge port on the right side from the very beginning? Would it be then the left side the wrong side and the right side "right"?
Hi Bjørn ! Honestly, I think efficiency of this car is "Simply Amazing"; just compare it with a Leaf 40 kwh or even Leaf+ with 60 kwh battery and I think is on par. Cheers and Good luck with your plan and good health to your (now enlarged)family.
My driver’s door is on the right side which is the right side, not the left side which would be the wrong side but my charging door is on the left side which is the wrong side not the right side which would be the right side except on my drive where the left side is actually the right side…..for my connector. I’m confused.
Just park forward into the garage like literally every other normal person? 😉Also: why’s your chargeport back there? I put mine in front, so not only it’s even easier to charge the EQS, you even can easily charge a car in front of the garage without a long cable…😁👍
@@bjornnyland maybe it's q cultural thing? I live in Germany, I'm often in France and Italy, and practically nobody parks backwards in a single or double garage, you're one of the first i ever saw doing this 😉

No other car will compete for comfort and ride Quality. The EQS is based on the S Class which only a phantom can do better for ride comfort. Tesla may have more efficient batteries but will never compete for comfort.
If this was your car, you would not run the battery below 20% because it degrades the capacity. Car manufacturers won't thank you for this and I feel you have a responsibility to educate people who have or are thinking about buying an Ev, especially as your strength is your technical knowledge .
What a noob mistake by Mercedes to put the charge port on the wrong side. I rented a Mercedes GLA last week with that ancient hybrid tec, and the petrol charge port was on the left side. I suspect they put the charge port on el-cars on the incorrect side just to annoy us.

Wow, this must be the best EV on the market. Mercedes knows how to build cars. Awesome review as always.
They should have let the exterior styling guys have more than 3 minutes at it though 😂
I got my EQS 450+ a week ago, and I am enjoying it.
The acoustic package is in the EQS per default. Double glaced windows costs about €1.400 extra.
it is package 596. If the spec sheet you showed is correct, the car has "only" single glaced windows.
