    Thanks Bjorn . This is a good test cycle - especially to supplement the 90 and 120 tests. With these 3 tests we get a great spread of efficiency data, and folks can triangulate, and figure out what results they will get in the cases most relevant to their use.

    My cousin had already ordered a Phat ETron as company car - ordered in 4/22 to be delivered in earliest 10/23- and was now told that Audi will increase prices in 2023 by 8%. That will push it beyond the threshold for a 0.25% company car tax he said. And even in pretty modest spec. He was totally frustrated and wants to push the company to move from Audi and Mercedes to either Tesla or Polestar. He looked at Model Y and was shocked what was all included. And when I told him the consumption difference - he drives a LOT - he was flabbergasted...

    Consider that we drive the car yearly to Croatia and often take the trip from Bergen to Solo, we need as much cargo space as possible. The model X have done the job perfectly so far with the large hidden boot sapce and the frunk, but I see that we need a bit more space in the third seat area.

    It seems nothing will knock Fat E-tron off the throne as most ineffecient EV…
    It would be fun if you tried to make one of the more effecient EV’s (like the Model Y or EQC) weigh as much as the Fat E-tron, and see what kind of consumption they would get :-)

    8:43, The selection of EVs in Norway must be terrible if the Phat E-Tron is a popular model there. In China, the Phat E-Tron is widely derided as an uncompetitive product five years behind the local competition. Less than 1500 are sold in all of China in 2021, a shockingly small number. It's basically dead on arrival.

    • @christianborck
      @christianborck Рік тому +4

      Selection of EVs in Norway is great, we have good access to most EVs on the market. The reason the e-tron is so popular is that it is a statussymbol to drive a large Audi, it has good towing capacity, people like the design and so on. Also the charging network in Norway is great so the low range on an EV doesn't really matter as long as it charges fast.

    One of the points where these Chinese car makers are failing is that they try to save on anything possible. Which makes them unsustainable. They should pay or buy license fees and use software made by European or American companies to put some of their effort into the economy rather than taking cash out of it. The average speed check zone is simply genius. Congratulations to those who came up with the idea.

      Personal preference. Some people want a no touchscreen, button only interface and have the position that anything that happens on a big screen (or a phone) is something to be ignored when driving for safety reasons. So why would having a fast and responsive one influence their purchasing decision? If someone goes 'When I'm in the car, I'm driving. When I'm not driving, I'm not in my car. Why do I need a flashy infotainment system?' I respect their position and don't try to convince them that the car they want to drive shouldn't exist. It might not be the car I'd pick, but if it's not my car and they're not risking anyone, who am I to tell them (or a car company serving their needs) to change?
