- For the last year I have been focusing on my love for Wood Burning or formally known as Pyrography. Folks say I should concentrate on it. I thought I would do a little 4 part series on how to Wood Burn. This is the first of four videos.
We will cover "getting started" in this first video, Image transfer in the next, My best secrets and tips in the third and for the final video we will take the image we transferred in the second video and burn it from beginning to end. Should be fun and hopefully informative.
I hope you enjoy and see what I love in doing this art.

Great idea to run a series on this since you're quite skilled at it. Regarding burning on birch plywood (glued layers), does the burn go through the veneer layer into the first glue layer, or does it not fully penetrate the top veneer?
@@jimharris8707 thank you Jim. I rarely go through that top layer. Only on deep burns and when I use that torch for large dark areas. Other than that it’s usually pretty light and that first layer of birch is actually pretty thick.
I'm looking forward to this! 👍
@@lqlarry I’m glad to hear!
Awesome!!! Totally interested!!
@@ronswoodshack glad to hear! I love it
Fantastic! Thanks a bunch, Andy!!! 😃
I'm going to build my own burner... I already have everything, I just need to start testing the wire to see what kind of tension and current I'm going to need, so I can choose the PWM controller (which is what is going to control the temperature). I already have one, I just don't know if it's going to be enough yet.
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
@@MCsCreations oh that’s cool. Are you going to do a video on it. I’d like to make my own nubs one day.
Hope you and your family are well!
@epeiusgarage Well, we shall see... This one I'm probably going to build without recording anything, but who knows the future. 😊
Ty for leaving your site at a fb page...I am a brand new beginner, never done anything, cant draw..might as well say I am like a 6 yr old child lol. I play with woodburning and I can transfer image to my wood and thats where I leave it at..i cant color or shade lol..So I am depending on ya :)
@@celleduffel1533 your very welcome! I can’t draw to save my life. I’m going to do my best to help you out.
You can always send me questions on my Facebook page too, Epeius Custom Woodworking. I post everything on there. A lot more than here.
