Pretty interesting idea, Andy! 😃 Yes, definitely do a follow-up! Another idea, perhaps, would be to apply a clear coat for new boots. You know? So it takes longer to it to wear. Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Awesome man! I bought a pair of work boots 3 or 4 years ago. And there a hole in the toe on the left boot. Angie I was gonna purchase another pair, however there $225.00 a pair, and things are tight at the moment. So I think I'm gonna have to try that! Lol. Thanks for the awesome content brother! BTW I was laughing about the pearl toed boots. And your "pretty" comment! Alright, later on!
Haha, yeah I got some comments this week while I was on site for work. So far it’s holding up nice. My job will buy me one pair a year but I’d rather keep them for a while when they are still in good shape overall and just the toe is worn out. Thanks for watching hope you’re well!
@@epeiusgarage I hear you. I buy and wear the Blundstone Men's Chelsea style #587. Made In Australia. And they are great boots. But I wore a hole in the toe of one boot. They are leather boots, this pair isn't steel toe. But they are waterproof. Well they were waterproof, before the hole!
I've used Tuff Toe on a few pairs of boots and if you prep the boot well enough it will outlast the boot. I got sick of spending an extra $40 for it on top of the cost of boots so I just started buying boots that already have a rubber/reinforced toe.
Remember usin superglue and vinyl seat repair tape to keep my old boots runnin for a longer while 👍 Ended up havin ok luck with superglue and electric tape but that was more stop gap. Coated them with tooldip after that. Worked well enough got to the point where finally wore through my handcarved tread for the 3rd time and that coupled with some leather rot and a crack that formed in the sole all the way to the steel shank finally lead me to retire them Viking funeral style. Old Brahmas ruled. Kept that pair goin for over 8 years at least. What was supposed to be the same model replaced them with hardly lasted a year since found out there was hollow voids in the rubber preventin you from retreading them. F you for that brahma. Your workgloves are now disposable crap too.
@@epeiusgarage awesome. The product they make for protecting steel toes is called tough toe. I'm a senior mate on a tow boat. The Tuff Toe was the best but it still scrapped off after about 6 months. So I'll send you a video showing my boots when you do your videos. I'm hoping JB weld works better.
Interested to see how yours held up. I just came across your video now after doing the same application to my boots. I applied the product number 8281 (steel reinforced epoxy). I had it laying around after using it to fix my air compressor so i figured instead of spending $40 for some tuff toe i would give it the old college try lol. A quick update video would be very cool. Thanks!
Definitely a follow up. I wear steel toe shoes and it’s always wears on the toes! Thank you for the content.
Definitely want a follow-up. It's a neat idea so it'll be interesting to see how it holds up.
Will do! It will be interesting for sure

Yeah, good idea! Thank you and take care!
Fancy feet! Clever idea. I'd love to see how these wear over time.
My fingers are crossed lol. I’ll be giving them a test run this week in SD
Interesting!! Let us know how it worked! :)
Yes please. Looking at mine right now and they are torn up. Also would love to know generally what you do?
Will do! Generally, I travel a lot to inspect and manage rail cars. Maybe I’ll do a live video about it.

Yeah, this stuff is way cheaper than that

Hey man I just prepared my new boots the same way! I always wear holes in my toes from kneeling on non skid. How are they holding up?
So far pretty good. I’ve used them quite a bit and still holding up. I’ll probably do a three or six month update

@@randomstudmanC oh cool! I knew there was something for it specifically. I just did look it up🤷🏼♂️

Oh yeah, I’ll be giving it soon. I’ve been using them a lot.
Yes we do wear steel toe but heck no not that style not in a million years. But to each there own.
Not sure what’s wrong with this style, but ok.🤷🏼♂️
