In this video, I'll show you how to install titles, transitions, generator, effect. Basically any macros or other template in both the Edit page and the Fusion page. Those explanations are for MAC but the principle is the same for Windows basically follow the Black Magic Design folder structure to the title folder and paster your title there.
Let me know what kind of video you would like to see next!
Since Davinci Resolve 17.4 the installation method has change it requiers now a .DRFX file. I've made another tutorial explaining everything you need to know!

It basically make it way easier to install assets in Davinci, you simply need to double click on the .DRFX file and your assets will be installed.
Great at last an Editor working on a Mac, so many other teachers, teach thinking everyone works on a PC and forget to explain for Mac users, So pleased I found you. Keep it up.
when i go to templates i dont see the other folders.
yeah, did you fix that?
hey Brother I am new here, Found the right person to ask some Questions. I have updaated Davinci Resolve 18 to 18.5 and I am having some issue. I dont't see Anything in fusion taplates. no edits no other folder where i can install my downloaded templates. i am in desperate need of help. thank you.
I Just came across your UA-cam Channel and immediately subscribed. All the best!
Thank you so much, really appreciate the support!
Thanks for sharing. I am new to Resolve, is there any benefit to using them in Fusion vs Edit other than organisation?
Thanks.
Hi Alec! First of welcome to Resolve!
I would say that for most people no there's not much benefit to access "titles macros" from the fusion page if you've exported all the parameters that you needed to be accessible from the edit page. I think most of the time you are better of using your macro from the edit page and then going over to fusion if you have to make any more complex modifications that you can't do on the edit page. However, direct access from the fusion page can come in handy if you are building an animation sequence that includes multiple macros or that you have an effect that would need more work like a "call out title" for example that will need to be tracked after.
Personally, I access my template 95% of the time from the edit page and then move over to fusion if nescessary. Because I build my template as GroupOperator I'm able to jump back and forth between edit page and fusion page, which makes it more convenient to use. I hope it's not to confusing and I w
can u do it for me? im having probelm
Hello ! thank you for the tuto ! im new on Davinci (come from FCPX). But I don't have the titles/ generators folder etc.. in "Templates". even the EDIT and Fusion folder. I created them but in davinci all my download title are in grey color and unusuable.. someone have an idea ? thank you :)
Hi Seb, this video is on an older version of Davinci Resolve. Since then the install process as change we're using now a DRFX file which make it easier to install, if you still which to install .setting file you can do it by simply creating the folder yourself as they are no present anymore by default. If this doesn't work for you you can create a DRFX file with your .setting file to install them. Here's two videos that might help.

I hope this will solve your problems, have a nice day!
Heya. Thanks for the video. I am very new to Da Vinci and I hope I am the only one who has this issue. I downloaded and installed Da Vinci 17.3 and I cannot find the folder to paste the Modern titles. It seems that they took it out? So my folder now shows Blackmagic design>da Vinci resolve>fusion>templates . There are no other folders in Templates.
Hey! Yeah indeed with the latest 17.3 version of Resolve the folders are not there anymore. But you can create them and it should work without problem, I've made another video on that that I'll link below. But it's not the preferred install method now it's best to use a DRFX file which will be way easier you'll simply have to double click on the file to install it (game changer), right now I'm currently updating all the packs to convert them to that new installation method, it might take me a bit of time, but once that done I'll make an updated video to explain how it works. Have a nice day!

@@VideoEditorStudio thanks so much. This is really very helpful!
Do is work on the free version as there is no edit folder just a template folder with a template bundle inside.
HI, yes it does work for the free version. If you don't have those folders I'll suggest you try to re-install Davinci cause something might have gone wrong in the process. All Davinci Resolve users should have that folder structure. I hope it helps!
just make those files, it works fine👍🏽
@@cantigasurfco.8549 just make the folders? I have same issue no edit of fusion folder inside my templates folder
@@nicoshireyphotography im no computer expert so take this with a grain of salt but when i looked for those folders where he said they'd be they weren't there. So i took a chance and created them and it atually worked. Thats all i can say, i just dont know enough about it all to say how or why... good luck brother👍🏼
Hi, when I go to the Templates folder it is empty, I have no "Edit" neither "Fusion" folder in there. Have you ever encountered such a problem and do you know how it can be fixed?
Hi, yeah now those folder don't exist on latest version of Davinci resolve because the new method to install asset is DRFX and not Setting file. However you can still create those folder manually. Just make sure that they have the exact same name as in the video. Have a nice day!
Hi
In my template folder there is no Edit nor Fusion folder, what to do?
Video about new way to install here ua-cam.com/video/OmnmAuPSfAk/v-deo.html
fantastic tip. Now I can see the title in the list, However I am getting media offline. Any Suggestion??
Thanks in advance
You're getting the titles as Media Offline? or some footage?
@@VideoEditorStudio I'v notices that whenever I am trying to use a logo It says Media Offline. but when I'm trying the same without using a .png Logo, the title works fine.
does these work on PC as well?? or do you have more videos for PC for us who dont have MACs??
The file path should be very similar on PC, unfortunately, I don't have a PC myself so I can't make a tutorial bout it. But there's plenty of tutorials out there to show you how to do it, best of luck!
@@VideoEditorStudio i still love the videos and you still provide insight on this amazing editor!! thank you!!
@@TheChosenBernard Glad it was still helpful, have a great day!
I have DR 18 and do not have an "edit" folder, just the template folder. When I put the titles in the template folder, they only show in fusion, not Edit tab.
Because it's not relevant to Davinci Resolve 18, now to install title they are using a DRFX file. However you can still install .setting file, you just need to create the folder yourself
@@VideoEditorStudio thank you!
okay how do you do this with windows?
The process is the same for Mac and Windows. Now the method of installation has changed since Davinci 17.2 it requires .DRFX file. It's even easier, just need to double click on the file. I made a video on the topic.

My title didn’t work and just shows up as blank when I drag it into the timeline. Not sure if it’s revolve 17?
Hi! No the issue is that you probably don't have the font that I've used for the pack, you should be able to solve the problem simply by switching to the font of your choice. But I realised that it could be a problem for a lot of people so I've just made an update to the pack and used a font native to Davinci Resolve. You can simply download the updated version on my website. It should fix your problem. I hope you'll enjoy it, have a great day!
When I got Application support I don’t blackmagic design don’t come up
Heya!
Not sure where the issue came from. I think you have a problem of installation with software. Do you have the free version or the paid version? Is it the official or is it a crack version? Let me know, best of luck bro!
@@VideoEditorStudio I have the free version of davinci 17
@@sah1521 I will say then try to re-install Resolve 17, something might I've gone wrong during the installation process. Because this file structure is really important for you to be able to install anything extra on Davinci like LUT or titles.. Otherwise, I'm not sure where the problem came from it seems odd, contact directly Black Magic design support or check in the official forum if other people run into that issue. Sorry, I can't provide more help, hope you'll find what's the issue, best of luck!
@@VideoEditorStudio Thank you will try that out
I have version 17 (free). I also did not have the blackmagic folder. I just created all the folders and it worked for me. I was installing a transition and title pack I purchased from videohive. This is the folder path i created.
/Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/Fusion/Templates/Edit/Transitions & Titles (these are two folders inside the "Edit" folder. Hope this helps.
