Great video. The device explained in a nutshell. I am looking for a Dashcam, but I have convinced your rating on this product. I wish you a further success with your future videos.
Wow. Just found your channel and you do an Excellent job reviewing this dash cam. I bought this camera 2days ago and just by luck I found you. I love this dash cam. Never owned one but it looks like I picked a great device. Looking forward to my upcoming trip. Thanks for sharing your review on this dash cam. Great great job. Will definitely subscribe to your channel. Cheers
hello i have a dashcam roav C1 pro but when in the settings, why does it always return to the initial settings after setting it? and always so continuously please help the solution
Hi Fred, I purchased the FHD version of this dashcam and ended up returning the camera bc it was NOT able to read license plates (neither by day nor by night). Whats the point of having a dashcam if you cant capture the plates (in case of a hit n run). Does your camera pick up license plates? Can you recommend any dashcam that does so? What is a reasonable price range to look at if needing that feature? Thank you for your advice and help. PS: I always appreaciated your professionalism and transparency in your well structured, organized, and consistently high quality videos. Keep up the good work Fred - hope your back problems are diminishing.
It will pick up plates when it is close. This is common when you have a very wide camera. It's always a trade off, wider angle lens you capture more, narrow angle you will capture details further. Yes resolution and and lens quality count too. Thank you so very much for your kind comments my friend!!!
Don't mean to pop[ your sponsored product review BUT These cameras are junk AVOID they have a serious documented by ROAV battery swelling problem that will occur and pop your screen out and possibly leaking onto your dash. After warranty is up your offered a small coupon so you can hopefully be dumb enough to buy another junk ROAV product. ROAV knows these cams are defective and still suckers people into buying them thanks to these cheesy response reviews.
Thanks Fred, I need one too, there's idiot drivers everywhere. To bad it wouldn't record while your parked though to catch those other dishonest fender bender people that hit your car and don't leave a note. Unless someone hits you from behind, then you'll need one for the rear too. Thanks and great review.
I would suggest before buying this camera People review the one-star reviews on Amazon. It appears that the picture quality is so poor that even in high definition mode it is all but impossible to read license plates among other problems with the video quality. I find that the one and two star reviews are often far more revealing than the more gushing 4 and 5 Star reviews.
I added my dashcam video to this video so you can see my results. I was able to read license plate as good or better then my last dashcam. Most Amazon reviews will have some 1 star reviews and this is no exception however that is not my experience. The average review score is 4 out of 5 with 186 reviews which is a lot. Anyway; this review, my review, is my honest experience with this product and I liked it so much that it is now permanently installed in my Jeep and is used daily. I highly recommend it, I feel it's the best in its price range.
Great review Question so the gps is just for vehicle location while driving Not for directions Correct ❓ If not have you ever done a combination unit review I couldn't find one that you may have done Thanks
Usually the GPS serves a few functions. 1 You get the MPH on screen from GPS. 2. You can get the date/time from the GPS. 3. It puts your location in the video, so later when you watch it, it can also show on a map where you were at the time.
From video, especially night footage it seems like a bad camera. And then it doesn't have super capacitor, not suitable for hot or sub zero weather. And what's this weird noise in the video, was that audio that this camera recorded?
Good Review Video, Thanks Fred. I have a A118C Dash Cam and was surprised by this Anker model's release. I just did not know it was out there. This was a wow moment video for me. Not only was this camera a surprise to me, but I was very impressed with its form factor and the polish of its app. The A118C camera that I use, doesn't have a WiFi, so to access its videos, I have to remove the MircoSD card and take it to a PC. Then I have to use a 3rd party program to play the Video. The WiFi would let me skip those steps and that is something that I would look forward to. I like Anker products. I have a Solar Panel USB charger, 20000mAh Battery pack, and some USB chargers (car and home). Most have been pretty solid, so I would expect the same from the Roav. There do appear to be some things they can improve though. I'm a Marylander, so I was paying close attention to the street signs in your video and found that I could not read them, even on my 65" HDTV with some pretty good HD quality. That would be something that I would expect to be able to do. License plates I can understand, but those large green/white signs should be ledge able. License plates are always readable on my A118C (unless very close). So if I think that I want to have a plate recorded, I will say it "out loud" so that at least the mic of the camera will record the license plate in the Video. The other thing that I thought was odd (but easily fixed with a firmware update) was that the Watermark didn't appear to be editable. Looks like you can just turn the "roav" on or off. I do like that GPS is built in, it was a $15 option on my A118C. This is the first time in the 2 - 3 yrs that I have had my A118C's that I am considering replacing them. One other thing that makes me pause. The A118 came out with a Capacitor model because of a high rate of failures for Batteries that lived in 'hot cars' all summer long. I know that they put a temp range in the manual that looked safe, but I do wonder if prolonged temp changes or high heat will cause a batter failure, or if that battery is even replaceable. Thanks Fred for a very solid review. Always enjoy your work even if it influences me to go out and buy $7 Casio Watches, or $1 LED USB Lights.
Hi, thank you for your video it was very helpful, I have this camera and on sunny days I get a lot of reflections at the bottom of the image, I contacted Roav support and they say they don't have any CPL filter for this camera, I see that in your video there is not glare on a sunny day, any advise please? I have it set the frecuency on 50hz as I live in the UK.
Hello. How do I download a video clip from my dash cam to my mobile please? I have the app downloaded but mislaid the instruction book, thanks in advance
About to move to a larger city and will definitely be getting one of these!
I'm sure you will be happy with this unit. Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
