I appreciate what you're saying about not assuming that the Dr doesn't want to help you just because they don't want to do a test.
The problem is that everyday you hear people that found out they had some disease that was discovered late because a doctor didn't want to do a test.
It's hard to trust these days.

@@DrRuscioDC on a side note. I recommend Healthy Gut, Healthy You any time I'm talking to someone with digestive issues that they can't seem to figure out. When he mentioned emulsifiers this was like instant gratification for me. I have cut them out of my diet and noticed a drastic improvement in gut health. Turns out eating chemicals isn't good for human consumption. Who knew.

Can’t wait to watch- been dealing with gut issues also. They seem to be food intolerance related which was never a problem for me before. Was it having Covid, the vaccine, or going through perimenopause 🥺. So many questions very few answers.

@53:00 Man, there are so many good nuggets in here, but this has to be one of my favorites. I've seen this many times, but the two that frustrate me the most is *supposedly* elevated yeast markers on the OAT and *supposedly* normal Bifido levels on the GI Map. After a while, you HAVE to start asking about the validity of the tests (assuming that you're paying attention). I get that we see special cases, but I refuse to believe that 100% of them have candida or that 0% of them have low Bifido.
Wanna get megaphones and crash the next IFM conference with me, doc? 🤣 We need to spread the word!

After the jab and Covid I developed rheumatoid arthritis. 48 hour fasting and pre/pro biotics have helped immensely. Anyone else ? Also coffee ? I’m not sure if it hinders my leaky gut. I love my coffee.

hello, keep a 72 hours fast and humble yourself before GOD .confess your sins and ask GOD to show the mistakes you've done ,correct yourself. Cut out the gluten ,Night shades ,omega 6 ,sugar , intermittent fasting and empty your stomach every morning. try this for at least 3 months (or 1month). Strictly no gluten. not recommending but l glutamine ,vit d , cod liver oil and probiotics helps a bit. JESUS has delivered me from all the auto immune diseases by his grace. now i can eat everything and have no pains at all . humans sin and sin catches by diseases . Always lean on GOD .Glory to JESUS. amen

Is almond butter bad for leaky gut/Sibo? I noticed i get a bit more inflamed after eating it. I only eat the one that says almonds are the ingredients and nothing else. I’ve been doing low fodmap for 1 month but started adding almond butter and bananas back in recently to curb the sugar cravings

My leaky gut comes with constipation bloating indigestion fatigued sometimes hot and cold flashes low stamina insomnia restless nights sometimes headaches sleepiness brain fog slow reaction hard to loose weight and I just found out with an oats test that I do indeed have Candida albicans 😢 if I do a detox of metals and take biofilm buster supplements then take nystatin dosage of 100,000 for a 7 days will and should be cured ? Tired of these horrible symptoms had them for about 3-4 years it’s hell inside your body

Sounds like you're experiencing insulin resistance/hyperinsulinemia, which can happen due to a vicious metabolic-GI cycle... The high-FODMAP food sits in the gut, the pancreas pumps out more n' more insulin, you gain weight (due both to the nature of insulin itself, as well as its affect on hunger), you become more insulin resistant, the pancreas works harder, and so on... This leads to pretty much every symptom you mentioned. Have you had an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT)? Ask for it, perhaps. If that's the issue, you might try: metformin (ask for extended-release so it doesn't hurt your already-sensitive tummy), dietary changes (FODMAP for digestion, low-insulinogenic* to prevent hyperinsulinemia) and exercise (which is really a game-changer, sorry to say... I know it's easier said than done 🥴)
Highly recommend The Glucose Revolution... I haven't read the book, but I've read/watched some summaries. She gives the best-ever advice, IMO, for overcoming insulin resistance and glucose spikes...
*When it comes to insulinogenic foods, everyone's a little different, so trust your own body and how you feel after each food. Obvi candy's probably always gonna cause a postprandial hyperinsulinemic reaction, but, e.g., legumes can be great for some and triggers for others...

@@PurpleAce5It's probably not *gluten*, which's the protein molecule in wheat, which Celiacs are allergic to... It's probably *fructans* -- the carbohydrate molecule in wheat, which is a FODMAP. If it is indeed fructans, you might check out the Monash FODMAP guide so you can see what else is high in fructans, and what you might reintroduce that has gluten but is low-fructan (e.g., soy sauce)

We know that you highly promote the use of probiotics on your podcasts, but what specifically is the objective of increasing the biodiversity and quantity of good gut bacteria? Is it the efficacy of the conversion of fiber or quantity of butyrate produced by the bacteria that is important? And if it is butyrate of the byproduct of bacteria, then why not just focus on increasing levels of butyrate to improve the gut lining faster to achieve a better tight junction? Then, increasing probiotics would be a secondary objective.
My focus would just be on decreasing inflammation and lessening pain first.

You need to get rid of the root causes which can be various.
Mine were antibiotics and mercury toxicity and mold.
So l, holistic dentist and trying to restore the microbiome and also trying to get rid of the critters that took over.
Fasting can definitely help heal the gut but it needs cleansing as well

mine was ibuprofen high doses, and yes i've cut everything for a month, only meat and fruit and honey, it has made a difference but still i get bloated and still have issues, 1 month of meat fruit cured my chronic acid reflux so thats a good thing, im gonna try 1 meal a day and black seeds for 1-2 months hopefully that cures it@@shantinaturechild3239
