That was a fun day for sure. The renegade is back up and running and ready for some more abuse for our next ride. Hopefully by then I'll have the new shock set up done. As always thanks for the awesome video and the opportunity to ride with you
@cclarkie1 was curious to if you ever had any frame problems with the quad ? See you in the background in some of these videos you just let her fly lol it’s awesome!
With the experience and trail time I have, I have come to the conclusion that the more plush the wheeler is the the less of a connection you have with it. You nailed the wording of saying the reason why the renegade feels ridged is because you have to really ride it. I would rather have a machine I have to work then let the machine do the work. That's what takes the fun and experience out of the ride. I'll take numb thumb, dead arms and an all around tired body of a ride then not feeling like I even experienced the ride the entire time.
Great video. I just had my 22 Renegade out this morning for a little bit of a break-in and adjustments of the suspension. The new Renegades have three different drive modes eco mode, standard mode, and sport mode. Sport mode is a blast! standard is great on more technical rough terrain where you don't want the throttle to be as jaby. I wanted my wife to get the scrambler so that I can have both and do some comparisons lmao but she wanted the renegade so now we have 2 1000 Renegades 🤷🏻♂️ 🤣 I'd love to rip a scrambler at some point though. My wife had her's at buttercup dunes 2 weeks ago and amazing what it does in the sand. Bring that scrambler down this way!
I just put a set of Elka Stage 3 Shocks on my 2017 Renegade 1000R. What a difference so far it has made. I also put on some SLG Rear Fender Support Brackets too.

The very first ride I had in winter after moving back to MN, I hit a tree trying to keep up with my veteran buddies while I was on one of their Polaris Sportsman's 500. Loved that machine but it was no match for an unexpected bowl in the trail. Went into the bowl to the left. Shot me right, into a tree. No helmet, just a bandana on my face with a bomber hat. That was 20 years ago. The lead guy on that day died in a four wheeler accident 12 years later. He was one of the best there was too. It's all fun and games until somebody gets hurt. Be careful out there.

A 2019 isn’t an “old” quad per se. Having said that, if I pay close to 20K for a machine and something like a tie rod randomly fails due to fatigue, I’m gonna be very pissed. THATS why people who have Grizzly’s are so die hard about reliability. It’s just a shame you have to settle for 50% of the horsepower to get that reliability!
Mine is a 2016 and for a tie rod to be the only thing I have had to replace in the 7 years I have owned it I think that speaks alot about the quality of my can-am. I don't ride it like a granny on a Sunday drive either as you can tell by the videos on here lol, and I only paid $14,000 for it also
grizzlys have there own issues I have had rear frame rust issues and piston and ring issues smoking and using oil, any machine has problems being said my renegade 1000r xxc is my favorite 4x4 but I have not rode a scrambler s like Petes, The suspension looks awesome!
FKN SIC!!!!
Doesn’t look like fun at all 😊
The problem with the Scrambler is you cant get much more out of that engine. Not even close to true with the Renegade.
Polaris has hard suspension
If anything it’s too soft on their traditional models. The Walker is Evan’s suspension on the Scrambler S is next level. One of the smoothest riding machines ever ever been on 👌
@@PeteHager ok ty. I will go look at one soon. Great video
V twin vs parralel twin.. big difference
Steering rods are pretty weak on can ams. Luckily you can have cheap B level part that's better than OEM.
Thats the thing with them Renegades, they always seem to break
The first thing that's gone wrong in the 6 years I've owned it. I think that pretty good considering how it's ridden
