    I am restoring a 1989 and have the same rattle. You have saved me endless hours of frustration to find out why the hatch does not latch tight. By the way, it is a tork T-50 bit to adjust the latch pin.

    I have 2, 1988 Bronco ll's. Same issue with the rattle. Tried adjusting that post position many times with no success. . Had no idea 🫤they had plastic on that little post from the factory. Going to give your fix a try. No one was hurt, so far. Lol.😂

      It's really nice once it finally shuts like it's supposed to. Good luck!

      I adjusted the post position with ease slightly and now the latch closes firmly and no rattles at all.

    I bought my 1987 new and it is still in showroom condition inside and out. But the rattle has befuddled me for years. I used to use an adhesive felt roll on it which worked fair, but had to replace it often due to wear. Then ordered supposedly the original pvc from rockauto for it but couldn't get the post to come off. So simply cut the pvc longways and slid it on. But it didn't fix the problem so maybe I will look for a new post since only one does that.

      Have you ever had a window squeak when you roll it down so bad it hurts your ears? Mine do that, and I can't pinpoint the issue. Silicone spray on the weather stripping didn't help one bit.

      @@masondawson4061 I ordered and installed new weather stripping from rockauto. Windows work like new now. And the power motors to windows have never gone out. I feel lucky, but had to put a window back on track once.

      I have an 88 Bronco 2. Would like to get offset wheel rims so it will help stabilize. Have any ideas where you can buy those? Thank you. Happy broncoing

      I would certainly try Rock Auto, Parts Geek, 1-800-Radiator, prime choice or Advance Auto Parts. @@virgilkirschner5717

      Yea it'll was driving me nuts too. I never found a really good way to quiet the spare tire holder. I bet that's why so many others are missing.

    On my ‘86 I have tried everything to get the washer off and I’m convinced it’s not threaded…

      My 86 neither.. washer looks like it was placed there during manufacturing or the stud breaks into two pieces.. I can’t get it off, seems to be the same size as the threads..

      Thanks. I was going to go look at one I found on Craigslist Friday. I've been checking it daily because the wife wants one. I was supposed to look at it Friday. They ended up selling it Thursday. Apparently I got this one the day before they got popular again. Fun little truck!

      I got lucky. The interior is in really good shape, and original. You might try taking them out, and running a torch over them.

    Have you ever had any issues with the oil light coming on?

    • @masondawson4061
      @masondawson4061  2 роки тому

      No, but I've heard the oil pump can be an issue, like a motor killing issue. To my understanding the uptake is just above the oil pan, and what can happen is if you go over something like a big rock, log, etc. it can bend your pan up onto the oil pump intake, and choke it off. I don't know for certain if this is where the oil pump issue comes from, but it's definitely worth taking a look at the oil pan. If it is bent you could try one of those dent removal kits you can find on Amazon that use hot glue. I like the slide hammer, but they have a couple different pullers as you might not be able to get a slide hammer into position. You would just need to degrease a spot to pull on. I mean REALLY degrease it finishing it off with a few wipes of acetone. If it still doesn't stick you might want to actually get a can of self etching primer, and maybe even some gloss to go on top of that to get a good surface to pull on. Good luck!

    nice bronco I've had mine for a few years now and I love it, will be doing this hatch fix soon, thnx. oh the next mod you should do is remove the obama stick from the back glass, or at least put a MAGA sticker over it. 😀
