How crazy is it that this aired the day after Leslie Van Houten's parole was announced to the public?
i watched Scott Michaels the other day with Leslie getting out, the governor didnt want to challenge it . i feel bad for the victims family

Leslie van Houten should have never gotten out of prison, she was sentenced to death for her horrible crimes. Just take a look at that photo, her smiling and singing. I'm sure there's a lot of people in prison that are sorry for their crimes, but they're not going to get out anytime soon. The LaBianca family is not happy about her parole. The news loves to talk about how much she's changed and everything, but guess what... her victims are still dead, and the crime has never changed. I was here for both riots. I was too little for the first riot, but I remember the 2nd riot. I was here for the Northridge earthquake, that was very scary, being woken up at 4:35 a.m. 😳 also remember the 1971 Sylmar earthquake, was 7 years old. I did not want to sleep in my own bed after that earthquake. Adam 12 was my brothers favorite show, loved it. And what I love about watching about those old shows is they show a lot of Los Angeles from back in the day ❤

She killed and got out, Manson killed no one and had to die in jail. That's what I call a double standard in the justice system.
Great thing about L.A is that you can go just about anywhere and find a film location or something of interest! Highly recommended to anyone who is thinking of coming to California
What an interesting museum. Thanks for posting this. I worked at a bookstore in Carlsbad, CA the mid 1970s and Martin Milner would come in, buy a lot of books and I would giftwrap them for him. He was a very nice fellow. Patty Hearst's life would have been very different had she used that rifle to kill someone. Isn't it ridiculous the things people will do just for some money!

I'm second generation Hollywood, LA, Valley. My friend lived one street behind BOA. I was a single young mother when RR was on the rampage. My mom remembers the Segal and Black Dalia murders. I remember the riots after OJ👿. My parents took route 66 out here after WWII. My dad was a studio musician and did Vegas ( Rat Pack , Liberace etc) too. Your vlogs are awesome but make me sad too. Scott did the Strip recently with death of Viper Room. Many good times on the Strip with sketchy memories, LOL. So much history is gone, my family gone, but your vlogs mean alot to ppl like me.. TY!

I just finished reading "Manson, Sinatra and Me" A Hollywood Party Girl's Memoir and How She Helped Vincent Bugliosi with the Helter Skelter Case". She once shared a cell with Susan Atkins! The book is a fascinating read. Scott Michaels interviewed Virginia Graham in her later years; the interview is on his channel.

I remember watching the North Hollywood shootout live on TV. It was absolutely shocking when they dropped the first guy with a head shot. Live (dead) on TV. You could hear the gunshots way off in the distance from our balcony.
Crazy to think that the two robbers were armored up in Kevlar vests and leggings. If I remember correctly, the LAPD was outgunned so they were going to gun and sporting goods stores to get AR-15s and anything else they could get their hands on.

My family and I moved to California in 1985 and some months later Richard Ramirez struck less than 10 miles away ,that's when we moved to the area where Clarence Dean passed away
I saw a picture of one of the North Hollywood exhibits where they had the suspects' VCR on display because when the cops raided the house it had a copy of the film HEAT inside it HEAT came out in 94 and is one of the best heist movies ever made and the best shootout in movie history
That was fascinating!! Amazing they have so much stuff in there and that it's still around. You'll have to make another trip there down the road when they've changed out the exhibits.
I'm definitely planning on going there next time I'm in LA. I'd never even heard of it. Thanks.

I loved this. I went to the police Hall of Fame in Titusville Florida near the Kennedy space center. They have a memorial wall inside and it's amazing of all of the fallen policemen and women. Anyways I wanted to find a friend of mine on the wall so I went to the podium to look through the book to find my friend. And the book was open to the page that he was on. It was a surreal experience. It was like he had it open to that page for me. It's a real cool museum 👍🏼😎

When I was in 8th grade, Social Studies class I did a report on Patty Hurst. Couldn't tell you anything about it now.
Patty's name was changed to Tanya by her captors. . .this story was front page for a year!!!! Amazing story.... Amazing to me that she survived this incredible ordeal she was jailed for being a bank robber with the SLA. and was subsequently pardoned by the President ...I believe she married her body guard and also had some cameo appearances in movies .. .and had children
Back in the day the building was used again and again in various TV cop shows. Specifically I remember it being in the series version of Alien Nation. Very cool

Growing up in SoCal in the 60’s & 70’s I remember a lot of these events! But I think the one bothered me the most was Patty Hearst! She was a year older than me. I remember when the house that the SLA was in that burned, or blew up. Police were thinking Patty was in it! Richard Ramirez was scary for us in SoCal at the time! So actually I was working at hospital in Laguna Hills and my Asst Director’s neighbor has seen Richard Ramirez creeping around in Mission Viejo!
My grandma had rentals in LA. I could see the smoke of the Watts Riots which is what we called it in those days.
Nancy Ling Perry went to a high school here in Santa Rosa, Montgomery High School, class of 1962. Her parents owned a Furniture Store, and very grieved over Nancy's career and death.
Frank Morgan of Dragnet lived in Sonoma County, CA, in the town of Sebastopol.
I lived in Manhattan Beach, LA County, CA, in 1968 and remember the RFK assassination. It was a stressful.
I lived in SoCal when Manson and the Family went on trial. SoCal felt the pressure, and hippie type people were avoided.
RFK Bloody shirt & tie were removed from display at LA police museum by the Kennedy family over a very heated phone call to LA police dept from Mass

SHOCKED at those cells! Im ALL For The Blue, but One has to "Go to the Bathroom" in front of each other. Criminals, yes. Agreed. But thats like borderline torture if you ask me (lack of bathroom privacy). And That is, "Humiliation." Perhaps is why they do it? ADAM 12? MY FAVORITE SHOW as a kid.
Had a friend many years ago who had done some time in juvenile hall. He said he would start a fight at least once a week so he'd be put in solitary. Then he could take a crap in private.

Remember when LA police had their entire exhibit at the Palms. Prob 15 years ago. Have hundreds of pics. It was an anniversary time for the LA PD.
I think they filmed the police station scene in Fletch there.
