A quality CNC machine mainspring housing is about $23. That's not the deal-breaker for me on a 1911 if that's the only thing wrong with it I can replace it.
Kimbers in that price range have a better plastic main spring housing? That honestly blows my mind. It seems like a plastic main spring housing would just seem so completely out of place on an all metal gun like a 1911.

But no one has done a 1k or 5k round count on tisas to see failure
Everyone I know has one love the and no failure yet
According to their website faq, after 11-1-2022 all of the internals will be machined except for the recoil spring plug.
@@miniaturemachinist6098 If thats true thats a good thing because my firing pin stop plate broke on my Tisas and it was due to it being a MIM part. Since than I cant trust the Tisas parts and I replaced all mine with Wilson Combat parts.
Sorry James the Garrison is not semi custom. It is just a plain Jane modern 1911. And I am ok with that. Semi custom is marketing BS.
what would Mr Thunder Ranch say about the new Garrison and TRP pistols?what a lovely nice beautiful neat and tasteful video and pistols Mr.James.did you drink some rakija there with your friend buddy Ranko listening the Serbian country/folk song "The life does not revolve around one woman"Mr.James?what if the S&W put the 1911 trigger into their M&P 10mm?would that be like the Las Vegas Casino steak with a glass of bourbon Mr James?is there the Bul Armory somewhere please Mr James?have a good one Mr James.
Glad they are finally thinking about working man.
But why not double-stack?
So a Ruger 1911, just not made in the USA.
Does anyone know if the Garrison line has a metal mainspring housing? I ask because the $900-$1300 equivalents from Kimber typically do and that's not something that's published. You usually have to handle them to figure that out.
@@hankwilliams-hx9ww I understand that stance and I'm aware of the price of a replacement. Respectfully, that wasn't the question. If you don't know, that's ok. Just wondering if there was/is someone that does.
@@JG54206 I noticed as soon as somebody praises a brand like Kimber or Taurus I immediately begin to tune out anything they say
SA 1911s have no plastic on them and never had
I can't watch this. I have bills to pay.
I just… make a $900 Prodigy.
Friends don't let friends buy Springfield
Friends don't let friends buy XD Pistols. But if you do buy a springfeild, get a used old one from when they were a good company.
@@WarriorGarden1And when was that? Haha
@@j.bar3.077that's right even back in the 80s and 90s
I have owned a Springfeild Garrisan this past year and sold it very quickly. It wasn't finished well at all, it was OK and all, but honestly was around the same quility of a 1911 as a cheap PSA or RIA 1911, except the finish scratched easier and otherwise just wasn't great. For a 1911, the trigger wasn't anything to write home about and I know it's a more entry level 1911, but 400 and 500 dollar 1911s most 1911 guys would snob at had better triggers and finishes and were just as reliable. Now I've owned some very expensive 1911s, and I love them, and usually, you see what you pay for. But with springfeild, I just don't.
@03Grunt-arrino Springfeild was a good company before they were sell outs to gun control bill legislators for exemptions, before the imported HS Croation products and used deceptive marketing to convince people that they were American made an not Croation dog shit and then upmarket said cheap croation pistols hundreds of dollars for putting their logo on it.
I think you don't understand what semi custom means in the 1911 world...
Dang James. You really know how to get people's panties in a bunch.
GUNS FOR EVERYONE
Nah I’ll stick to other “cheap” 19/2011’s.
Idea. Close custom shop. Market semi custom models. $$$$$$$$##
"Semi-custom" doesn't mean what you think it does.
Folks are jumping to double stacks.
If I didn't still dislike/mistrust Springfield I'd be excited about these. But, ..
"It became an unreliable piece of shit" you just said it was a 1911, you dont need to repeat yourself
Springfield AND 1911s?? I think I saw James throw up in his mouth a little bit.
no double-stack or pic rail? what a rip-off
Saying Springfield is custom is like saying Biden is a good president. They don't belong together.
"I'm not a 1911 guy" - You just lost your boomer subscribers. :(
Nope! I’ll buy Tisas over SA 1911. I traded off my SA 35 cuz it wouldn’t run.
Fix the title.

This guy so outta touch he must be ridin with biden.
Biden Derangement Syndrome is real…
