Bought a Remington field master last year, very good shotgun so far.Was pretty cheap too and has a all steel receiver unlike Mossberg that uses aluminum if that means anything to anyone , that being said I have a Mossberg 590 and 590a1 and love them both , also have a older browning bps with nice glossy wood and bluing , also has a steel receiver and that’s the most quality pump out of all the ones I own

I wish more people understood that good shotguns deserve more than just dinky little bead sights. Low-profile aperture sights are a huge step up in terms of capability.
True.that has evolved with the quality of ammo. The same shotgun that I got in 1984 and it fires a more consistent spread now with the same shot as it did back in the day.
My 18.5" 590A1 just has a bead sight. If nothing else, bead sights are fast to aim with. Ghost ring sights are great for slugs but for buckshot at 15 yds or under (maybe 25 yds, tops) then a bead sight will get the job done. Don't get me wrong, these optics cut shotguns are a great upgrade and if/when I get this professional series or the Thunder Ranch 940 (the QD for a sling is great), then I will definitely get a red dot.
@@TFBTVShowTime I bet Mossberg loves the hell out of you and TFB TV, the legendary Maverick burndown video had to move a butt-ton of units. I bought two after that and I don't even find shotguns that interesting.

I own both. Both purchased early in their releases. I had a 940 within like 60 days of TFB showing it, and I pre-ordered th A300 Patrol. On paper at least, the 940 likely wins. Internal coatings and heavier barrel profile make it easier to clean and it's softer shooting to me. Either the test gun came without one, or they removed it because it kept coming off. That's because if you use it and tighten it sufficiently to prevent walking, it will probably shut the gun down. Both issues that I believe were hinted at here in this video. So they know. He mentions that IN A FUTURE upgrade they'll address it. AND. Mossberg customer service does NOT CARE. They did not have production Patrols models at Shot Show and given not release date was given we would think they have time to make some revisions to the fore end that capture some of the improvements such as M-Lok as found on the A300 Patrol and the 1301 Mod 2. The Patrol has been out for many months so with it and with the knowledge of want everyone has wanted to see changed on the 1301 for years they should know what the market wants. Most police agencies have been selling off their 870 police shotguns for years and moving officers over to .223/5.56 rifles for years. Yeah can you guys come up with some options for current 940 owners? Every fighting shotgun needs a heatshield number one, plenty of after market for the 590 but zilch for the 940. I love the 940 pro tac but I'm going to need some configurability especially with the handguard before it can take over home defense duty from the 590. The QD is a step in the right direction but I need some M-lok. Right now I have ranger bands holding my flashlight switch on.
Where is the Bayonet lug , I bought the 590A1 in the 90s and love it but it does have a kick with the rear stock having a metal plate instead of rubber.
Does the 590 pro also feed mini shells like the 590 S model? Are the QD points non rotational? Also I'm curious why cut the optic mount in the rear and not in the forward part of the receiver to be able to leave the rear sight for co-witness/backup? looks cool though might have to pick one up.
8:19 "Its not like we've had a rash of safeties breaking..."umm yes you have. Mossberg safeties are a big failure point. Bunch of complaints online including myself about them. My 590 safety likes to jump back on safe when its fired preventing me from making follow up shots. Im getting rid of it for something else.
It's great what Mossberg is doing, but are they ever going to sell 940 barrels? I don't really want to buy another 940 to get a different stock or barrel. I want to just get the parts and put them on the one I already own.
Love Mossbergs. Great video. Great gun. But could you do away with the cob foregrip. I replaced some. And I’ve used a Dremel with a coarse 1/2” sanding drum. And reduced the middle of it and made it wasp waisted. And then restippled it. Guy at the LGS asked where I got it and liked it. Purpose. Great for smaller hands. And when you wear gloves. Keeps it more of a C grip. And not a U grip. My two.
Its the little upgrades/improvements that matter. Mossberg is really stepping up there game. Finding new ways to make a pump action better is hard like he says but they are managing to do it. Awesome video.

Bro, I want one! the new 590a1 that is.
My 590a1 with tacticool bayonet lug and M9 baynet (it was a factory offering) is good to go. Only drawback, if any, is weight due to heavy barrel.
Where is the Bayonet lug , I bought the 590A1 in the 90s and love it but it does have a kick with the rear stock having a metal plate instead of rubber.
How do they decide who James interviews versus Hop?
Does the 590 pro also feed mini shells like the 590 S model? Are the QD points non rotational? Also I'm curious why cut the optic mount in the rear and not in the forward part of the receiver to be able to leave the rear sight for co-witness/backup? looks cool though might have to pick one up.
Great upgraded models from Mossberg! Are the Trigger Guards steel or plastic? Asking fir a friend who may need to butt-stroke an opponent...
Does it have the military metal trigger guard James?
8:19 "Its not like we've had a rash of safeties breaking..."umm yes you have. Mossberg safeties are a big failure point. Bunch of complaints online including myself about them. My 590 safety likes to jump back on safe when its fired preventing me from making follow up shots. Im getting rid of it for something else.
My 940 Pro safety is so stiff it is unusable, at least it stays put though.
@@deputydog5261 Yep, thats another common one with Mossbergs.
Hey, I saw that! Birds head grip, mag fed, sling. Do you have a video on it?
We really need mlok on the front handguard of the 940 tactical for pressure switches.
Ron Spomer in the backround?
Can I attach a rail segment to allow a prism optic? I have astigmatism strong enough to make reflex sights worse than useless.
As someone who has not used a shotgun much I have to say the 940 seems like something I could get behind.
When are they making 940 to cycle short shells
It's great what Mossberg is doing, but are they ever going to sell 940 barrels? I don't really want to buy another 940 to get a different stock or barrel. I want to just get the parts and put them on the one I already own.
Sweet. But does the new front sight on the 940 pro tactical fit on last year’s model?
Love Mossbergs.
Great video.
Great gun.
But could you do away with the cob foregrip.
I replaced some.
And I’ve used a Dremel with a coarse 1/2” sanding drum. And reduced the middle of it and made it wasp waisted. And then restippled it. Guy at the LGS asked where I got it and liked it.
Purpose. Great for smaller hands. And when you wear gloves. Keeps it more of a C grip. And not a U grip.
My two.
Well, spring has come and gone. I've yet to see these in the wild. WTF Mossberg?
Its the little upgrades/improvements that matter. Mossberg is really stepping up there game. Finding new ways to make a pump action better is hard like he says but they are managing to do it. Awesome video.
Mossberg Goldistock (tm). I wish I could find Mossberg 20ga. shotguns anywhere.
Yeah, cool shotgun. I was paying attention to the legend in the brim hat behind James.
I like the dark grey
