What a great song. Like many people, I heard it first in that "Where the Wild Things Are" trailer, and couldn't get enough of it. Since then, Arcade Fire has put out some stuff I like, and some stuff I didn't--but this song will always make me lose my sh*t.
That's despite the headache I got from transcribing it! The tempo is all over the place (so if you're a patron, please know it's only a guideline), which made the final tab overlay speed up and slow down constantly, and I had to tweak it every few bars.
Anyway, I think it's worth it, if only to play this amazing song and it's unusual chordy bass line.

y'know, I always wondered (besides his usual onstage enthusiasm) why Will always strums his bass like a madman during the chorus. the triple stops make sense.

Arcade Fire sure has some strange bass lines. They sure make for interesting bass playing. "Keep the Car Running" is another one that may be simple, may be not.
