Kudos, first of all, to @charlie thenerdicorn for doing a seamless mix of Metric's original track with Brie Larson's vocals from the movie.
"Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" is now a decade old, can you believe it?: a perfect excuse to tab out and play this great tune.

@@waterisnotwet3902 hello again
this seems like a great beginner-intermediate song for bassists. its sort of tricky but not complicated, i'll definitely keep this in mind for when i get bored of guitar and decide to give bass a go. Considering my obsession with Lemmy it'll only be a matter of time lol.
love the creeper hat, by the way.
Yes, it sure is a great song to learn: not only for a little finger dexterity, but because it's played in the counter-time, which might take a little bit to get used to, but you get there eventually.
Thank you! Creeper hat FTW! I love it too. And, I'm glad it doesn't spontaneously combust.
Definitely helped me when I was learning 3 years ago
@obesekid6947 did you start with bass after all this time ? Im very curious
Definitely beginner but not intermediate though

Thank you, Zack! Very kind!
Nice video but the measures in the tabs start a quarter note too early. Making a disclaimer in the description would probably help people from being confused.
This was amazing! Hopefully this question isn't too much of a bother but what type of bass is this? I'm dying to get a bass but I'm stuck between jazz and precision
It's a precision! :D

Thank you, amigo!
Oh yeah, OH YEAH!
Rítimcamente, suena similar a si lo tocaras: negra (TA), negra, tresillo (TARARA), tresillo: TA, TA, TARARA, TARARA, TA, TA, TARARA, TARARA, TA, TA, TARARA, TARARA
Disculpa mi manera rudimentaria de explicártelo. Espero te ayude. ¡Saludos!
Oh Yeahhhhh!
Oh, yeeeaaahhhh?

This is amazing?!! What amp settings are you on?
No amp settings: recording directly to Mac's Garageband through an interfase.
Nice playing! :] What type of bass is that?
Thank you! It's a Precision 60s re-issue.
This so hard...
Which part are you finding difficult to play?
@@PookBidault u have the original tap?
Hey, great tutorial. I was just wondering, though, if you used any sort of pedal while playing? Also, do you memorize the tab? If so, do you have any tips on how to improve on that? I tend to struggle a lot with memorizing my notes. Thank you.
Hi! Thank you so much! -- I don't remember if I used any effects on this particular song, it's been a few years. I don't think so, though, other than a compressor built into Garageband.
I do memorize the songs I play. I really have no method other than play them over and over. On those that are trickier, I divide them into chunks and learn those individually, then put them together. Wish I was more helpful!
muchas gracias@@PookBidault
¡Gracias a ti!@@MF-jm6xu
I’m a total beginner what’s that odd looking note and what are you doing at the beginning with your fingers
Hello. The odd-looking note is a rest, to indicate there shouldn't be any sound there, aka staccato: a small rest or silence between each note. (Don't think "la la la la la la la la", but more like "lac lac lac lac lac lac...". To achieve that, I'm muting the strings with my fingers.
Hope this helps!
Muy bueno el cover men 😎👍
¡Muchas gracias, Hugo!
Me podrías ayudar porfa?

you are amazing, i have a question how much time i need to learn to play the bass ? i want to learn this song
Really, it depends on how much time you can dedicate to it and your patience. This song, however, is not that difficult. I'd say a couple of months to learn it, if you're starting learning bass from scratch?

@@PookBidault just a hunch.
❤
Woooooow
Yeah!
good video dude, but there's one issue - i think the first beat of the entire song should have been a pickup, so now the whole tab is off by one beat (beat one of each bar is shown as beat 2, etc)
Yes, that is correct. There's an updated, corrected version on my channel, as this is 4 years old or so.
Im a first time bass player and I wanna learn this, how will I play the 7 looking note on the intro?
Hello, Kenzo! You don't play it. That's called a rest, or a “silence” in other languages, like Spanish. It's there to tell you that nothing is played there for an 8th of a note, which, in this case, it means you stop your string from ringing.
Listen closely to the notes I'm playing: they don't sound “lalalalalalala”, but have a silence between them, right?: “la la la la la”.
I hope this explanation is clear enough and it helps you out. If not, don't hesitate to write again. Thank you for watching (and playing!) and take care!
@@PookBidault one more thing that I dont know how to read and do in the tabs are the same looking note but with an extra head(?) ua-cam.com/video/44cJmBBkbjI/v-deo.html here's the timestamp link. Anyways thanks for replying, I really love scott pilgrim vs the world and I've just picked up a bass that my uncle let me borrowed to pass time and practice during this pandemic.
(edit: it was the sixteenth note rest, and I dont know how will I do that part, I can follow everything until the chorus part by copying what you're doing, it helped me a lot on playing the moment I left my comment earlier. now my thumb is calloused with playing the intro again and again.)
@@kenzobruno1940 Keep on practicing, man! You'll have it in no time! As a suggestion: the parts you find difficult, it's always better to stop the song and practice that single part over and over again, veeeeerrryy sloooooooowwwlly at first, until it sounds good, and then just gradually speed it up until you have it down. I promise you, that always happens sooner than you think.
@@PookBidault thanks for the tip and I'm taking every part slowly especially when 2-3 notes and a rhythm strum is included.
