This makes my heart happy I found you when you did this kit the first time around because I bought it during lockdown off Amazon and had no idea how to use it so searched it on UA-cam and found you and the binge watched all your videos and fell in love you're amazing xx
I used to hate walking into a salon, asking for a french and they put those white tips with clear over it. My nail beds are sooo small and short that my smile line would be so low. It looked like I barely had a nail bed at all. I hated how it looked. another reason I started to do my own nails. lol.
I swear none of the family owned salons are board certified. Not that it necessarily matters, like if you’re sanitary and actually CARE an ounce about anything but money while doing nails, then I think even an at home nail tech are ALWAYS better. Certified or not. If you know what you’re doing cause you like doing it, I don’t need to know you spent $20k+ on schooling for it. Your work says your worth!!!
I’m telling you when I used to do my nail often in 2009-2012 I always used this kit or AsP acrylic and I would always get compliments on my nails. And that was when I just used regular lacquer polish.
I have been watching you for two years now and I have been watching ever since. I got into nails, and it’s my new hobby. I start Cosmetology school this upcoming year, and I am so excited and love seeing how much you have grown!
It takes a while to file with an e-file also, but e-files are so so much faster then hand filing. if you're starting nails just get like a $20 e-file and it will save you so much time❤
This kit is the very first acrylic I ever tried! At the time, I was so proud of doing my own nails myself. Looking back now, they were a little...thick lol. And they took FOREVER with that miniature little brush they give you and that frankly useless file (I spent hours filing T_T). I'm glad I upgraded to better products and tools; it's much faster and easier to do nails now. But it's still nostalgic to see the Kiss kit and remember my first ever set. And especially when you are very first starting out and trying to decide if you want to keep doing nails yourself, it's not a bad little kit to try out (though I would definitely invest in a better file).
This set came out super cute. Thank you for doing a video on this kit. I’ve been wanting try it but when I say I’m a “beginner beginner” when it comes to using acrylic 😩 I’ve just been too afraid to use it but now I feel a tad more confident in using one now.
I have neverrr tried acrylic on myself ever!! ❤️❤️❤️After this video I am certainly I can do it!! I love her!!!💚💚💚I love her method. For so many reasons I wear them. iam tired of using different methods where. I don't have to use acrylic but it looks like I did. I want to wear them longer sooooo for 40th birthday I am going to try this. I have been wearing nails since I was 14 but I like doing my own glue on style but for some reason my nails stay on 3 weeks with only glue!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Someone else probably mentioned it already, but you can clean your brushes in acetone. That's what I did for over 10 years before I stopped doing nails. When I know I'm finished or I have to stop for longer than maybe 2 to 4 minutes, I clean my brush in acetone to avoid ruining them.
My first attempt at acrylic with the same kit. I liked it a lot and became addicted to acrylic 😂. The brush is definitely not the best (mine slid apart when I was wiping it after cleaning) and the kit is short on monomer imo. Great starter for the price, tho. And absolutely read instructions for application and removal before you do it lol
Oh thank you! I bought this a while back during the lock down, hoping i could manage to have my hands look decent without my nail techs help and i chickened out...i did use it do a repair on my niece's manicure but that was it...maybe I can muster the ambition to attempt to do my nails but Lord its gonna take a miracle, they are in a truly sorry state. Up here, going to a salon is almost impossible now with everything going on. What I need to do is find that kiera skye knock off polygel kit you got off Amazon that was uber cheap but had great results with...you are amazing Evie and you make it look so easy and i know thats from a lot of practice on your part, but you do a great job of inspiring people like me and giving us the courage to try.

Good attachment with the tips-has no gel that squeezes past the finger/nails- but you're right many don't apply it correctly. I've started using only HEMA free gel for my Full Cover tips, being extra careful and unless I am going for a glass nail I leave a little extra nail to cover my skin. The tips I buy -- Double Dip, Apre--iGel have a good apex and a good well.
Ayyyee, I been saving my money alot Cause of you. And also cause my local salons find every excuse why they don't have appointments. And I been doing a damn good job for free. i used to do acrylic nails with this small acrylic kiss set that i stole from my sister when i was 13-14 and did really good but then i stopped and i told my current boyfriend how i used to do them and he bought me this exact kit. im super excited to get back into it !!
Note: QUESTIONS AND PLEASE, NEED SOME HELP! I just used this kit a few days ago. 2nd time attempting my own acrylics, but watched a LOT of your videos (and other fab creators) to learn what i did wrong the 1st time (they all popped off within 24 hours that time lol). I didn't bother even with a top coat this time, figuring i wanted to see how badly I did, and how long before lifting started, etc. Well, here I am, 2? 3? Days later, and they are all still there! (Word to the wise, give yourself GOOD lighting. Sighs.) I have a small amount of lift near the cuticles of 2 nails, and a bit more than small amount on 1 - all on my dominant hand (meaning, my non-dominant hand SUCKS at this - so much for ambidextrous lol, it could have been the poor lighting, too). A few q's for those with more experience... (i've never been "girly-girl", only had 3 mani's at salons in my life, and like my nails short - gasp, i know. Sorry, but my autism/sensory issues & long nails don't play well together). Anyway, I used the shorter tips from another Kiss Kit (the gel one), as in... i think they are sport length? Anyway, several of my fingers, where the tips are applied, feel... pinched. Like they are being squeezed. Does this mean I went a size too small? Also, do I HAVE to use tips? I don't want to build TOO much LENGTH, I want STRENGTH more. My nails lately are cracking from tip upwards towards the cuticles, going deep into the nail bed area. Ya'll, I'm at a LOSS. I've tried nail glue on the spots, then the glue covered with polish, nail hardener polish stuff... I finaly got the acrylic stuff, but I'm STRUGGLING. Of course, the cracking is on the dominant hand. I have some UV polishes (base, top coat, a few colors). Can I skip the acrylic (after proper prep, of course) & go with like 1 uv base gel layer, 2 uv polish layers, 1 uv top coat layer & get this splitting to stop? I tried to keep that nail super SUPER short to minimize damage, but everyday things cause it to split a but more... like climbing into bed. Any ideas? Suggestions? Would polygel be better for this? I honestly cannot stand this pinching sensation, I'm about to rip my nails out. Should I try to build my own tiny extention to stop the pinching? (I do remember one of the nail techs doing so, and it was the most comfortable ones I had, even if they were a bit longer than I usually liked. I adapted quickly to them, and was very sad when finances took a downturn & I had to give up my 2x a month "me day".) Any tips, tricks, advice, suggestions, etc... i honestly respect all you lovely folks who do this - either just for self or for others. It ain't easy. Rest assured, if I ever get to return to pro-done nails, that gratuity tip gonna be even bigger than before! Anyway, thank you to those who respond... i'm'a gonna finish watching this AMAZING woman create stunning nails with this kit (btw, mine was 16$ at walmart). - oh, and if you decide to use this kit i really suggest getting a small but thick-botyom shot glass or an actual monomer glass dish - the thing in this kit will tip over very easily as you lightly touch the inside to remove excess liquid. Love to all, and may your results be way WAY better than mine (although, I did improve a LOT, still a lot to learn. Determined, though. I wanna feel pretty...)
I don't even wear nail polish, I watch these videos because they are relaxing and satisfying for me. LOL.I read through the whole thing and I really wanna help but have no idea about nail care and stuff. I hope someone replies to all your queries.Reddit nail subs may be a good place to ask this though.Just my opinion
@@vandana8142 i very rarely wear nail polish... to do so, I HAVE to have acrylic under, or it feels like my nails are suffocating. Strange, I know, but it's the only way I can describe it lol. I've watched nail art channels off & on for a few years, but didn't really pay attention to instructions... I just love looking at all the wonderfully creative & stunning results, and marveling at how, with a few tools, this is achieved. Seriously, mad RESPECT. Hubs is taking me yo Sally's beauty supply store tomorrow. We're gonna find something to help me soak these suckers off, and hopefully, be guided to something that works for me. They've never failed me before - in the past - before I started shaving my head for health reasons - they helped me pick out the right hair bleach, the right dye, equipment, and ran down a list of basic do's & don'ts. I went home & gave myself a sweet ombré. Then, did hubs' hair, with one color on top, another on sides/back. So much fun, and I've gone to them with other questions on hair care, etc, and never had a problem. =D So, am pretty sure I'll get some kind of help. Crossing fingers, anyway lol. These things are coming off TOMORROW even if I have to pry them off with a jackhammer! Even more lifting is evident now. But the sensation of my fingertips being squeezed has kept me from sleeping! =/ Anyway, thank you for replying, even if you had no advice. It's a pleasure to meet you, and keep on enjoying watching these videos! Honestly, they ARE so relaxing, aren't they? =D Best wishes!
Update: I was able to reduce the pinching sensation! I found my nail chomper (honestly, it makes me think of a guillotine for tiny critters... kinda scary lol). I wanted to reduce the length, and ended up using it on the sides a little, too. After filing things smooth... I realized... that horrible feeling was nearly gone! As in, I think I can actually sleep tonight! I did end up trimming one realllly wonky, but oh well. It did drive home the fact that my dominant hand did WAY better than non-dominant. The nails on my dom hand are super thick, even after I filed until I just couldn't anymore.
@@vandana8142 holy girrrrrl, I love Sally's lol. They were (in a way, but not really) able to help me. 1) No more tips. I cut'em down so short it was like i never added them! Hehehe (and, the lady who helped me so much... is in the SHORT NAIL CLUB!) 2) she taught me basic cuticle care, and when to do certain things to help improve them, and, potentially, strengthen new nail grown ----And, told me a product that actually SEALS those cracks (seeps down under the nail and essentually bonds them. It's painted on like polish). Buuuut... they were out. She didn't tell me the actual name of it, or anything. So now.... Hoping someone knows what it is? I'm gonna end up doing an amazon deep search, but just a suggestion for the search engine would help... Oh, and I get to attempt acrylic, just doing a thin coat over just my nail until I can get that stuff, and after that, I can do acrylic or not, my choice =D color or not =D lol, as long as I dont neglect my cuticles.

i used to do acrylic nails with this small acrylic kiss set that i stole from my sister when i was 13-14 and did really good but then i stopped and i told my current boyfriend how i used to do them and he bought me this exact kit. im super excited to get back into it !!
I love your videos! I can tell you have such good energy it just makes me want to watch more xoxo
Hey!!! I just bought this kit so... this is perfect 🥰
I adapted quickly to them, and was very sad when finances took a downturn & I had to give up my 2x a month "me day".)
Any tips, tricks, advice, suggestions, etc... i honestly respect all you lovely folks who do this - either just for self or for others.
Anyway, thank you for replying, even if you had no advice.
@@abigailphoenixthepaperaddi2501 glad to know that you are feeling better now.💜
@@vandana8142 holy girrrrrl, I love Sally's lol. They were (in a way, but not really) able to help me.
1) No more tips. I cut'em down so short it was like i never added them! Hehehe (and, the lady who helped me so much... is in the SHORT NAIL CLUB!)
2) she taught me basic cuticle care, and when to do certain things to help improve them, and, potentially, strengthen new nail grown
----And, told me a product that actually SEALS those cracks (seeps down under the nail and essentually bonds them. It's painted on like polish). Buuuut... they were out. She didn't tell me the actual name of it, or anything. So now....
Hoping someone knows what it is? I'm gonna end up doing an amazon deep search, but just a suggestion for the search engine would help...
Oh, and I get to attempt acrylic, just doing a thin coat over just my nail until I can get that stuff, and after that, I can do acrylic or not, my choice =D color or not =D lol, as long as I dont neglect my cuticles.
ok this is a very random mention, but the day you posted this was my birthday i turned 15 and here today i’ll be turning 18 very soon on the same day that this video was posted lol❤❤
I actually learned something from ur video unlike every other video I watched so thanks
This video popped up on my recommended and I’m glad it did. I’m in cosmetology school right now and this was a really fun video to watch! Plus, I love your voice.
i never get tired of your intro tune☺️ 💅🏽
For a beginner kit, they aren’t bad! The curved tips aren’t cute but you made them work 😊
THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO! I just bought this kit and didn’t use it yet because I wanted to see people reviews on it.
Just did my nails with this kit LOVED it 💓
Love the bears. The nails look pretty good for Kiss.
Evie using white tips 🤯🤯🤯 that's beyond me I've been watching her for the past couple of years and I know for a fact she has a disdain taste towards white tips and hates curve tips lol love the set love the videos 🥰🥰🥰
Kiss definitely upgraded there kits cant wait for you the try the new kits they have clear nails now 👏🏿😭.
Omg I just tried this nail kit and was not ready for how strong this monomer is 😅
Oh my gosh I’ve never done my own nails before but I am so excited to start and I LOVE the gummy bears so cute
Omgosh I remember when you first started congratulations on the growth of your channel 🎊🎊✨
I always hated white tips when Tammy Taylor hit the scene and EVERYONE wanted one tips I was still doing fiberglass natural will a c curve like😳. I still love me some claws. Trying to get caught up with your videos makes me want to get my nail table out and go crazy. I remember the nail drill to put my jewels in they looked like a earring with the screw back. Sorry for the ramble. Love the gummy bears.💜💜💜💜
This gummy bear french is so simple yet so dang cute and imma try this look too !!! Thank you beauty !
I have that kit from when I first started practicing n I still have it I only used it once n the rest is sitting there the apple scent did make my clear tips yellow n don’t help the smell of the monomer lol file don’t file and the brush was trash af so I’m glad to see u do it again so I can see it wasn’t just me lol hope these come out cute
Sooo totally not related to this video, but could you do a “nail favorites” video? I’m thinking like…for all nail styles - acrylic, polygel, soft gel, dip, etc? Including all of the accessories like monomers, tips…even art products! I’m having so much fun doing my nails at home with cheap stuff from Amazon but I think it’s time for me to figure out what things I should be upgrading :)
I can't wait to try this. I've finally gotten the balls to wanna do my own nails. I don't like salons cause I don't like being touched & the price is just crazy to me. I respect their work but feel I could do it at home
I love the way your nails turned out Evie‼ I have been wanting to do my nails, I haven't done them in years‼ I'm going to try and do my nails Evie‼ 🤗🥰💖😘😘😘😘
