My father served in the US Naval Air Corp during WWII flying in a Lockheed PV1 doing search and destroy missions over the Mediterranean sea looking for surfaced German u boats. He tells of a time an officer went along on a flight as an observer. The officer had to take a shit and asked my father where the bathroom was. My father pointed to an air sickness bag and told the officer he had to shit in the bag and then send it out the flare shute. The officer decided he wanted to watch the bag of shit go flying out of the air shute into space. My father chose not to warn the officer that if he didn't cap the flare shute before pulling the lever the shit bag would be drawn up instead of out of the plane. My father got a great laugh when that bag of shit went flying into that officer's face after he pulled the lever !!!
Hi, What a Story !!! Hopefully the officer deserved it ! - I wonder who got to clean up the mess inside the plane? Thanks for sharing, Regards from Alaska!
A Wonderful, detailed Restoration ! Thanks for sharing, Regards from Alaska!
The horizontal axis movement of the belly guns (57 seconds in) was so limited that crews considered them almost useless.

this actual harpoon is based out of heber, UT. she's a beauty! watch for her at airshows this year all around the country!
Saw her at KTUP. Was here for a few months
She's for sale right now. I would love to buy this plane.
kpz1234, do you remember what they were asking for her?
Is this in Missoula, MT?
No, it's Heber Utah. Get to see her every day on my way to work.
Nostalgia music a bit loud versus sweet engine music. Great interior glimpses though. Nice.
Preferia ouvir o roncar dos motores em vez da música de fundo...a minha segunda máquina voadora na FAP 1974.
Love American Patrol!
