Octane rating reflects the quality, purity, refinement, efficiency and heat bearing capacity of petrol. Hence we have different grades of Petrol for different uses ranging for your bikes to spacecrafts. You see crude oil is the raw material for petrol and from it, various derivatives are extracted. The finer and refined the derivative, the better the quality and efficiency of the fuel. So from crude oil there are various stages of refining extraction done that results in so many varieties of fuels with higher Octane ratings.

Quality of Gasoline is dependent on density also..if density meter is not showing on dispenser that means something went wrong there..and if density meter is always showing same number that is also chances to having less quality fuel..make sure that fuel density meter is working properly.

My area:- reliance, i go 5 km to fill fuel. Diff:- more powerful. When i fill others its burning gets low. Locals know it all and choose the pump acc to their chioce.
It's not about quality but it's about the quantity. We have observed the fuel pump dispenses different quantities sometimes.

Purity of petrol/diesel (adulteration) and Quantity also varies from pump to pump. You r right in your aspect but it is true that using each and every pump you would not get same mileage. It is my personal experience.

Reliance’s Jamnagar refinery mostly export the oil to the european countries only few amount of oil is transported inside the nation that means reliance is selling Government Refined Oil at higher price that other OMC in the name of Reliance.

You have missed one important aspect. Some petrol pumps adulterate fuel more than others. And that is a huge issue for avoiding some pumps..
I tried many metrol pump. Almost all shows different performance. Nayara is ultimate. Better go to new dealer for filling as they don't cheat.
In HP petrol pump I went to fill petrol and what I saw I was shocked when the petrol filler pulled the petrol lever the meter went running without even filling the petrol
I found shell petrol to be better then others , Saw the difference in milleage as well.

Shell is selling ordinary petrol like indian oil, bpcl and hpcl petrol pump. It is coming from same refinery. Nothing is special about shell petrol. It is their marketing strategies.

Indian oil XP95 is better than any other brand. If your engine made for it.. And one more things petrol quality also depends on the oil pump reservoirs.. Good air tight reservoirs have low water vapour as compared to poorly maintained reservoir

temperature and fuel density definitely its mileage. fuel filled in early cold morning and car run in hot afternoon will give higher mileage than fuel filled in hot afternoon and car run in cold evening.

@@vi5683 and don't go for higher octane fuel like xp 95, power or shall if your engine is not made for it.. Your money will be waste.. For that you need higher bore and stroke value.. Just check in manual... If you are using a regular octane fuel vehicle.. Then after 3 to 5 k km put xp95 or any higher octane petrol once it will clean your engine..
Well this not true that all petrol pump companies not giving same type of petrol , as in your earlier video u said that quality and quantity depends upon density. In many petrol pumps density not match at standard temperature. Different petrol pumps had different density at same temperature.

Simple formula density should be up to the level ie 840 to 880 for Diesel
Diesel density don't go till 880. It should be above 815. I saw maximum 835 till date

Hi bro pls tell me abt the Honda SP125cc BS6 bike which i bought on 14/02/2020 starting 2 years i got the mileage of 68kmpl to 70kmpl but from the last 6 to 8 months it has dropped down to 60kmpl. I have changed the air filter, oil filter and new spark plug, i am a true bike lover, so I take utmost care of my bike. Maximum time i ride in ECO MODE only. I keep the tyre air pressure checked timely.. i handle my bike with utmost care, even i have complained in honda showroom also why the bikes mileage dropped from 70kmpl to 60kmpl they said they don't know. Can you please tell me what could be the reason.

1. BPCL great mileage but sudden jerks while driving and
2. Shell great mileage but low performance
3. IOCL slightly less mileage but linear performance

Public select a bunk over another based on:-
1. Adulteration
2. Honesty of owner and their staffs on volume.
3. Sometimes cleanliness.
4. Facilities and services offered like toilet, air-pump.
5. Ease of payment such as CC and digi pay.
6. In cities, based on high-end bikes or cars required octane such as 95 or 98.
As a citizen i see all the above, I don't care from where petrol or diesel comes.

I ride a fuel injection bike so I prefer to fill petrol from Shell petrol pump. It is around 8rs expensive compared to others. I always thought that the fuel quality is better in shell compared to Indian Oil or Bharat petroleum. After watching this video I am confused now.
So if anyone can tell me if shell gets petrol from the same nearby refinery or is it different for them.
It depends on octane number of the petrol which defines quality of petrol. Usually we get 91 octane everywhere and 95 octane as premium petrol which is called power or speed or XP by different companies. Shell by default sells a quality petrol that's why price is high and yes you will get little better mileage in good quality petrol.

Coz the quality of their petrol is Farr better than others I have HORNET 2.0 FI bike I also refuel my tank from shell only.
Even IOC offers XP100 which cost Rs. 160 or more. It's octane level not company.
Please note that Shell does not bring petrol or diesel from overseas refinery, they purchase from IOCL refinery nearby.

First time i am thinking that you shared half knowledge only. Every petrol pump have density which represents quality of the fuel. If you go nearby station, check density first below the price tag in the pump. If it is between 730 to 800 then quality is good and you can gain the better milage. I have seen many petrol pump hide this and don't show and many people don't know.

I don't agree with you sir partially as I have genuinely found one of the BP fuel station's petrol with density of 70 giving 5/7 km extra mileage per litre. Sometimes upto 10kmpl. It's fact. Not for once but regularly. Moreover the petrol seems to be much lighter in that station.
RTR 160 2v runs around 570/590 kms easily with 10 litres of fuel from that station. Where's that of IOCL pump petrol gives merely 47/50 kmpl. If you don't believe, I can show you practically. Then you have to rethink about this video sir

I have experienced better refinement and milage with Reliance or now Jio BP petrol than normal BPCL, HPCL or IOL petrol and I get same smoothness and refinement with BPCL Speed or IOL Xtra premium with a Turbo Engine.
I have seen that in some of the petrol pumps the density of petrol is. Arround 700,but you have told us that above (720 or 730) density is good and the second thing is if we add kerosene with petrol does it's density increases

In my area Bharat Petroleum and Indian Oil are not so gud... Most of us fills from Hindustan Petroleum pumps.... And fuel comes from 3 Indian Oil and 1 NRL refinery in all 3 pumps; i.e, Indian Oil Refinery in Guwahati, Bongaigaon & Digboi and NRL refinery in Numaligarh...

It seems to me that they do some sort of GHAPLA and they fill 200 rs petrol in 2 seconds which seems fishy and I avoid Indian Oil.
HP is also a good option in my area and had a good experience from the fuel filler guy as he was watchful of petrol wastage when pulling out the pump and also helped me with some local route as it was blocked due to landslide.
