Such water thirsty crops are even exported, effectively exporting water. Soil degradation, pest and disease outbreaks are other negative consequences. You forgot to mention one thing, increased ethanol blending may increase the price of sugar as some sugarcane crop might be diverted in creating ethanol. Also sugarcane is very water hungry plant and reduces water levels, especially in areas where there is water scarcity. Also important to note that many politicians close to gadkari in Maharashtra region and in UP own sugar mills who will personally benefit from this so there is a possible ulterior motive behind this move.
Honda and Toyota CEO saying in an interview that their cars have been E20 compliant for a decade has no legal value. If their older cars get any trouble due to E20 then they will still deny any liability because their manual doesn't say it's E20 compliant. And, this environment benefit is also a farce. You have mentioned that E20 leads to lower mileage that means now more fuel is required for the same distance. Hence, more pollution. Not to mention we are still paying the same price for petrol even though the govt is saving billions.
Finally someone addressed this issue, I have a 2013 pulsar 220 which was not compliant for even e10 and I have experienced 20% mileage drop. Can you suggest any add on lubricant to put in order to save my bike ?
i dont think the engine is designed for any additives, if the additive is not recommended in the manual of that vehicle. so better to get the vehicle inspected by ur mechanic at damage prone areas during every service
Unfortunately no u cannot…….its best to sell it and buy a e20 bs7 bike or scooty because in future ur engine might get seized and then u won’t be able to use or sell it…….
E20 = 20% ethanol and 80% petrol, 1.53 ltrs of ethanol produces power equal to 1 ltr of petrol, on calculating 0.20*0.65+0.8*1= 0.93 ltrs of petrol power, so it also saves the environment but , government is charging us same price for that 93% of power, in conclusion we r paying 7.5% more for the fuel

Ethanol Blending will not reduce fuel import, i will explain why it will definitely decrease the petrol demand but not other petroleum products like kerosene, aviation fuel, diesel and bunker oils which are extracted from crude oil. In a unit of crude oil only 25-35 % is petrol, 20-25% diesel so if diesel products demand increases we have to import more crude since we can't blend ethanol in diesel. In Simple terms adding water to milk will increase the milk production but the amount of ghee produced will remain same. Same analogy here petrol is the by product of crude whereas diesel is the product, In India diesel consumption is 35-45% of crude , petrol is 20-25 % ethanol blending is waste of money and most important water. Sugarcane requires a heck of water to grow we are producing 2-3 times of sugarcane from our requirement. This is the same reason EV will not be replacing IC engines soon, EVs might replace petrol ICs but not Diesel ones which is the backbone, Until a revolution comes in heavy utility transportation.
Is this present Road and transport minister Mr. khadgadi a mechanical engineer? Is a fuel/petroleum engineer? Everyone who has car now are going mad in the days to come. 😢😢😢
I completely disagree with the idea that using E20 fuel benefits the environment. Have you ever considered how much water it takes to grow 1 ton of sugarcane? Sugarcane is a water-intensive crop, and excessive growth of it can deplete groundwater systems. I would argue that growing more sugarcane causes more long-term damage to the environment. I am totally against it. You only mentioned what E20 fuel does to the engine; why not discuss its environmental impact?
@@srivatsa5843 bro you have got it totally wrong. Govt is not forcing anyone to grow more sugarcane for ethanol production. Actually ethanol is a byproduct that comes out while making sugar from the sugarcane juice. Which was earlier going waste majorly. Or was being bought by alcohol distilleries in cheap rates. Sugarcane derived ethanol is not used in huge quantities for alcohol making (for this ethanol derived from barley and wheat is preferred/in more in demand by distilleries). And second most biggest consumption of ethanol derived from sugarcane was for making molasses. But now this ethanol is being bought by petroleum refineries to blend it with petrol. Making the price of sugarcane sale price little higher without affecting the price of sugar (which is beneficial for farmers... Remember its a waste/byproduct that comes out while making sugar). And blending ethanol with petrol means we have to import less petroleum. So its a win win for every one. Expect E20 will wreak havoc on cars and bikes build to run on pure petrol. Government wants everyone to suddenly sell their vehicles or discard them and buy a new vehicle every 4-5 years 🤣🤣 Because vehicle owners are the biggest losers in this whole series of implementing ghastly decisions/norms to reduce pollution.

There is a reason, you can inject 2-3 times e85 than e10, into the cylinder to burn, that too uniformly with less air, so you get twice the power, though the mileage will worst.
Diesel also is blended though lower, and these are the variants B5: 5% biodiesel, 95% diesel B20: 20% biodiesel, 80% petroleum diesel B100: 100% biodiesel (pure biodiesel)
People without having proper knowledge in this regard are not entertained to do vague comments, E10 petrol is being used in the most of the countries out there, there is barely any country left, not implicating the E10 fuel. USA having the largest consumption of E10 blend, stands at the peak of the list. Ethanol blend increases octane(hydrocarbons helps in combustion) in the petrol, higher octane is generally found in premium petrols like XP95 or Power petrol or named premium gasoline in the US. It somehow decreases the mileage but offers increased performance, Now I hope government will take any measure regarding compatability issue with E10 vehicles and with E20 we would most likely to experience a decline in mileage so may be in the price, rather we should! Now the engine performance with the new fuel is truly dependable on how manufacturers would manage to blend the fuel in its way to the engine and lastly how well tuned the functions are to function well.
E20 petrol should be 20-25% cheaper than normal petrol but greedy governments will not reduce prices

Such water thirsty crops are even exported, effectively exporting water. Soil degradation, pest and disease outbreaks are other negative consequences. It makes no climate sense to derive ethanol from such water thirsty crops, cos the savings from reduced crude imports will ve far lesser than the cost that we will pay in managing the effects of climate change. Also important to note that many politicians close to gadkari in Maharashtra region and in UP own sugar mills who will personally benefit from this so there is a possible ulterior motive behind this move.
Good point
Honda and Toyota CEO saying in an interview that their cars have been E20 compliant for a decade has no legal value. If their older cars get any trouble due to E20 then they will still deny any liability because their manual doesn't say it's E20 compliant.
And, this environment benefit is also a farce. You have mentioned that E20 leads to lower mileage that means now more fuel is required for the same distance. Hence, more pollution. Not to mention we are still paying the same price for petrol even though the govt is saving billions.
E20 is already available at some Indian Oil pumps.

Can you suggest any add on lubricant to put in order to save my bike ?

Same analogy here petrol is the by product of crude whereas diesel is the product,
In India diesel consumption is 35-45% of crude , petrol is 20-25 % ethanol blending is waste of money and most important water.
I think diesel may also suffer same issue as BS4 diesel cannot digest BS6 diesel

Water scare countries it's a worry not India that's y 2G and 3G ethanol
Correct...the groundwater level is decreasing day by day
@@srivatsa5843 bro you have got it totally wrong.
Government wants everyone to suddenly sell their vehicles or discard them and buy a new vehicle every 4-5 years 🤣🤣
Because vehicle owners are the biggest losers in this whole series of implementing ghastly decisions/norms to reduce pollution.

why in west countries people make thier old early 2000s performance car to run on e85 and have no issues only thing they need was tune
they are probably servicing their vehicles as it gets damaged with the alternate fuel, and are ok with the fact to service it as it breaks
There is a reason, you can inject 2-3 times e85 than e10, into the cylinder to burn, that too uniformly with less air, so you get twice the power, though the mileage will worst.

Wonderful content🎉 I appreciate every time
People without having proper knowledge in this regard are not entertained to do vague comments, E10 petrol is being used in the most of the countries out there, there is barely any country left, not implicating the E10 fuel.
