Hey Jono, when you get a minute I need you to go ahead and write a book on drawing hyperrealism, and not just a little book, I mean like a full on coffee table size one with instructions written to the most minute detail. Thanks, love your work and best wishes from Louisiana
you probably dont care but if you guys are bored like me during the covid times you can watch all the new movies on instaflixxer. Been watching with my gf recently =)
Jono, I have been mesmerized by your drawings and techniques. I’ve always loved realistic art, and, at 67, I’m trying my hand in it (never too late). Please keep your videos coming. They are much appreciated.
It's really interesting to see you juggle with the not-so-simple concept that's teaching how to draw face anatomy. I've taken a look at your artwork and I wonder if you have ever tried indulging in a self-portrait ? Lots of people underestimate the challenges that artists can "face" (pun-intended) when they undertake the task of making an autoportrait, the most familiar subject, because of how critical we can get towards ourselves and how trained our eye is to spot all the little mistakes we make, that's why I always had the tendency of avoiding self-portraits altogether ... until recently where I struggled more than I thought I would, so I was wondering if you had ever gone through the experience yourself... Anyway, delightful video, as usual.
Interesting point. Two thoughts come to mind: 1. As an artist, I find I must take great care not to draw my own face, or elements thereof, into the portraits of others; it is quite natural for us to draw that which we know the best, the face we see every day. 2. I do believe I have seen some of Jono's beautiful face in the portraits he's produced. I am certain it wasn't conscious. It's just that many of us tend to do so at the behest of subconscious data. : )
Every time i see your works, it's like a huge motivation and at the same time am thinking to find a corner somewhere and start crying , cause i doubt i will ever gonna get there
Every artist have their own understanding of features Like Stephen bauman videos are so complicated Proko is more of an explorer I think they are for serious persons But for a novice like me Yours are perfect Less tools, easier breakdown of structure I just play it in slow motion and go through the entire process And gets somewhat good result for my level
i know adding a new element like musical instruments to your work will be amazing. music is another element pleasing to the mind. i love your work. you inspire me
Jono! Thank you for making another incredible tutorial video so soon! This is extremely powerful content, and I genuinely can't wait to use these videos to pursue my life-long goals--one of which is to become a professional artist. Thank you for sharing the wisdom you've gained over your years of experience. You are a truly monumental artist, and my main influencer. I hope you know that. I'm glad I caught this video when it was released! Sincerely, A Devoted Fanatic (I hope you do a hair and hand tutorial ;-).)
🙏🏻thx Jono for your works, your shares and love! You are soooo Inspirational Artist, person, Soul. All the best Jono! God bless You!!🙏🏻 one more time Big Thank You!
I am keen to learn from you! Please do MORE tutorials! I want to master hyperrealism. I've been sketching for years and I recently jumped into hyperrealism. Completed my first A4 piece and those who saw it were impressed but I felt that I still needed to touch on skin texture, eyes and afro hair. I also struggle with fabric texture! I love your art and would like to learn from you. I do a drawing a day so far, just for practice. I need to push myself.
Thank you for these guides... Very appreciated! please keep up with the great work Ps: it would be cool a guide about the different skin textures in the different areas of the face and body
Bonsoir , Merci de partager votre expérience ! J aime bien votre travail , je sais pas si j aurai la même patience pour ressortir tous c est petits détails pour arriver à obtenir un réalisme saisissant.... Bonne continuation !
Amazing tutorials & You work so efficiently. Thanks for all the vids. I found You today & have watched a ton of them. I’m curious though as to how You work without smearing it with the palm of Your hand, especially with all that graphite? Now I know You use glassine or wax paper sometimes but on the mouth & the nose tutorial & some portions of Your paintings I’ve seen Your hand on Your drawing but not smear the work or get it on your hand or sleeves. Thanks so much.
Really nice of you to share these step by step tutorials! i really enjoy putting your tips in practice and can see quite the improvement. What i really like to know is, if you use a reference of the subject ( a human) your are drawing, are you going that much into detail to actually put the tiniest skintexture of the reference on paper or are you putting your own knowledge of skintexture on paper? Anyway, really enjoy these more tutorial oriented videos of you :D
The fact is...u have miracles in ur name... as its shown on my notification bar.... I left all my work to here ur intro - "hey, im jono and i do pencil drawings" 😁❤️❤️❤️❤️
M great fan of u...each and every thing wht u did is always been so much inspiring... Thank u so much for providing these wonderful tutorials to the world...👍
Awsome, that you have opened the opportunity for reviews. You may await a flood of drawings though. :) Do you expect them to reflect your respective tutorials, or can we submit any kind of drawing your way?
It would be great if you could do a tutorial about doing skin and features in a smaller size, cause most of us students can't afford working on those huge papers I think. I could try and do this nose but I won't be able to do a face that size. I guess some of the techniques are similar but others surely change. Anyway thank you so much for this, it's amazing to see you work and learn from you!
I really like your projects, all of them,am an artist too and you really need inspire me a lot, I would even like to send you some of my drawing so that you can help me to improve on a few things, since am not that perfect.
Every time when I finish my drawing work and ready to upload on UA-cam, You always above me🤦🏽♂️.... Look how amazing your art it is😭😭😭😭😭😭. But one day Jono I will be on your league 👊👊 I'm very inspired.
Do You work in sketchbooks? How do You practice? Do You do thumbnails or sketch out preliminaries somewhere? I’m curious how & what You do to prepare for finished work. Or even how You practice. Also, how did You learn the Reilly method? Thanks.
Great tutorial. It is much appreciated! Idea; you could use Discord as a place for people to show their art. I follow David Finch and James Raiz on Discord and they have multiple categories for people to post their art. Sometimes, James Raiz does a livestream then immediately afterward, shows the live video of him checking out the artwork on Discord.
Love to have you on UA-cam bro.. coz of you i find that I'm also able to do realistic sketches but not good as you are capable😅 of but don't worry I'll not far behind you 😉.. Thanks for everything you uploaded on YT love from India 🇮🇳 ❤
sir your video is very help for us ,plz sir try to upload in a week,< buy the way we love your work and u sir so much , im form India Continusally i watch your video daliy and try to make art work just like u , i copied some of your cool works ,it is really cool and amazing plz make a video on human body or a face texture, your video always motivate us for make more and more art works
Can i ask something. after coloring black for the background, how do you draw the image in the exact position and how did you enlarge the picture into your drawing?
If you have not already created a video for your approach to botanicals/flowers in this series, I personally am interested to know your thoughts! I'm sure I would not be the only one. I enjoy them so much, but I blunder the subtleness of their shapes so many times. I personally just ruined a study, because I botched a Lily. Thank you anyway, your videos are relaxing and informative!
Another question: What gear do you use to shoot your references? I would really like to know your procedure on how to achieve these dramatic pictures and get this detailed sharpness to have the best references possible. Thanks in advance and keep up the good work.

I can't wait for the hair tutorial!! Jono always killing it, you're amazing
Dude
Actually really! I don't think I've ever seen him draw hair, at least in a dull proportion. Like a complete head?
I can't even fathom how hard you had to work to get hear just unbelievable how good you are

He did a self-portrait, when you visit his website you'll find a soft copy of his artwork titled "Narcissus".
Your humility makes me listen to you Jono.

Hey Jono, thanks for posting these videos.. I hope you take care of yourself in these troubled times ❤️

And gets somewhat good result for my level
You watch Proko too! I like the vids where he asks pros common concerns artists have
