@@rasmuslaurberghansen8484 We shall see, I've just pulled the trigger on a 6505 and I already have the Mercuriall plugin. My missus would probably eviserate me from arse to nipple if spent more on gear. Will keep my eyes peeled and see how the UK prices go.
No, I haven't been able to get a hold of it - so I have only tried the E530. It doesn't sound pretty great and you can find them for cheap on the used market - that way you can also just get rid of it at the same price if for some reason you don't like it. Do notice that it takes a bit of work to dial in and that you probably want to have the contour button enabled all the time.
I haven't recorded bass with it, but I have played though it. On it is own it lacks bass to stand out, but as the distorted part mixed with a clean bass DI could probably work very well .. guess I will have to try that now .. thanks :D
Color is simply called 'Honey' and seems to still be in production. My bass however has a mahogany body I believe while the current production models have ash bodies, so the finish will look a bit different, and they might also sound a bit different. Great basses with great tone though.
I only have the Engl Powerball I, so I can only answer in comparison to that: The Powerball has a lot more lowend, you might call it muddy, whereas the E530 is lacking lowend and more on the thin side of things. The E530 is very mid focused, while the powerball is a lot more bottom and treble focused and you have to crank the mids to cut through in a mix. They are both very useable for recording though, but they do sound very different. I guess which is best depends on what you are trying to do with it? What style do you play?
@@rasmuslaurberghansen8484 I am much worse guitarist than you, but I'm into the same music ;-) Jeff Loomis/Ola Englund/Keith Merrow - these guys have the tone :-D (I have been using e530 since 2017 as main amp - try these settings btw: gain on 13h and all EQ knobs set to maximum with contour on.) Although I like how e530 sounds, I am looking for something more brootal sounding...
@@rasmuslaurberghansen8484 The depth and low end is coming from its power section. I had the powerball, it's horrible compared to the E530, it's surprisingly hard to get a good tone out of it, and the only usable channel is the 3rd. It was the most disappointing amp I ever had :\
I agree it is much easier to get a good tone with the E530, you might wanna check out my new video using it. I have considered selling my powerball, since I have better options, but I am keeping if for a while to enable me to do comparisons with it.
The Powerball I and II are voiced totally different to the e530. The Powerball probably has more gain than the e530 and it has a ton more bottom end. Yes it sounds compressed, but that's why I like it. Super tight and it has tons of features, so you can't really go wrong with it. The e530 is voiced more like an ENGL Savage, but less crushing than the Savage. It is still an excellent preamp. All ENGL amps are excellent. Note: I run my Powerball I through my Vader 2x12 loaded with EVM12L and Eminence DV-77 speakers. Sounds amazing with that cab.
Excellent playing man very musical and good work on the bassline , very melodically aware
What a song!!! Beautiful chord and line progression!
Thank you!
I want one of these.
Seach your used market, they often come up at less than half the new price, atleast here in Denmark.

i am thinkig about that rack man, it sounds amazing, did you compare it with the special edition rack E570?

Dansk black metal 🤘🏻
Ja sku!
So... stupid question... is this good on bass too?

What is the name of the color of the finish for the Warwick? Is that finish still in production?
