Bruh.....you have to be the only person on the believes that AR was better than DLo. DLo was the clear number 3 and it wasn't even close. I believe DLo should opt out and play elsewhere but AR NEEDS TO GO TO THE BENCH IF HE'S STAYING BECAUSE THATS WHERE HE BELONGS. Bring in another quality starting combo guard and go from there.

I disagree with the take on Rui. I think Rui is a starter in this league, just not on the Lakers, because Rui's best position is PF on both ends of the floor, but in the Nuggets series Rui had to play out of position on defense, guarding Jokic to hide AD from having to, and guarding MPJ to hide LBJ from having to. If Rui just had to guard Aaron Gordon, the team would have done worst, but no one would be talking about Rui, because instead we'd be talking about how AD and LBJ got punished in there true positional battles. Offensively Rui struggled, because he had to take on tough assignments on defense. He either had to guard someone faster than him or someone bigger than him, so AD and LBJ wouldn't be the ones burning themselves out on defense. Last year when AD had to guard Jokic more, AD had a terrible offensive series. So this year the game plan was to have Rui do the dirty work so that AD could thrive on offense. It was the best strategy they could do considering their personnel disadvantage of not having a true defensive big. So Rui, being the role player, was given that impossible task. I just don't like that he is being thrown under the bus for it, because if he didn't do it, it would have been someone else thrown under the bus.
For half of the regular season, Rui was fantastic on offense. Yes there was still the positional issue that caused him to have to take unfavorable defensive assignments, but that's not his fault the Lakers traded for him when they have LBJ, who wants to play as much PF as possible, and understandably so. Rui was one of our better 3 point shooters, and he has a butter mid range shot. So I'm guessing when you said he was missing corner 3s, taking bad mid range shots, and missing lay-ups, you were talking about the playoff series, because none of that was a thing in the regular season, or if so, only vs the Nuggets, in which case the reason why is obvious.
So, like I said, I think Rui is a very good talent in the NBA, but he doesn't fit on the team in the short term or long term. People wanted to say he's LBJ's protégé, and will replace LBJ when LBJ retires. The issue with that is that AD is going to move to PF as soon as LBJ retires, so Rui will still be forced to play out of position the majority of his minutes on the floor. So I think it is best for the Lakers to trade him. The unfortunate thing is that if he's included in a trade with the Hawks, the Hawks are already set at PF, so he'd be put in another suboptimal situation. It's unfortunate for him.

That's not even what my post was about, but I'm also sick and tired of role players getting thrown under the bus, which wasn't a thing when Kobe was here. I can't tell you how many times I've heard Kobe take accountability. The only times LBJ takes accountability is when he shoots poorly, but that's it.

The Lakers situation was ideal for Rui to succeed, if you put him almost anywhere else where he’s not getting wide open threes and close out opportunities and mismatches almost every possession, his efficiency will tank
Rui can play but he's a bench player and a contributing one on a real title contender not on the Lakers. Unless they get much better this off-season.

Every year the Lakers make roster moves and Jason believes that their title contenders. They are not title contenders solely because they have no continuity with their roster and they refuse to gain any type of chemistry by keeping players on the team for more than one season.

I just don't understand why the Lakers need ANOTHER star. They have 2 superstars on their roster. Why can't those two superstars and a good supporting cast of players get the job done? My God, this shit is ridiculous at this point.
How many stars would you say are on the current Celtics who just won? I easily see 6 stars with Jrue, Derrick, Jaylen, Jayson, & Porzingis, and 7 if you include Big Al not to mention Payton Pritchard, and Xavier Tillman who have star level potential for sure.

If given the chance, neither of those two guys can make all NBA whatsoever. They can probably make an all star team (jrue has made 2 in his career). People need to understand that basketball is a team sport. The Lakers need another SUPERSTAR teammate which is crazy to me.

They Need basically 2 alternatives: 1) to cut LeBron contract by, at least 10 or 20 millions per year, so that, the fact he is 40 years old, he doesnt defend, and he doesnt play back to back, dont affect you, because you are able to make a good market; 2) they Need for LeBron to leave and use all their picks for young prospects, sacrificing this year and developing Austin and Rui.. because LeBron presence keeps everybody away from taking responsibility. If None of those happen, the Lakers are going to keep immacolate their roster as it is.. no market at all, apart some marginal moves.. sooner somebody Tells the Truth, better we Will feel when nothing happens and if you are lucky, we are a play in team, again..

They literally made a trade after they were in the 7th or 8th spot this season before the deadline and moved up to 5th and made the nba finals. How is that any different than what the Lakers did the season before lol. With Bron playing no defense last year either lol. So clearly it seems your best player can be down right bad on defense and still be successful as long as the right role players are around them. The Lakers lost in the playoffs because their role players weren’t good, not cuz AD and Bron didn’t do their job
