Prepare yourself in a extravagant animated movie marathon of everyone's favorite Dinosaurs. Over the years The Land Before Time is definitely one of the most insanely popular animated adventure films the first movie was introduced by Executive Producers, Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, Director Don Bluth. 1988 - 2016
Chomper is the the only redeeming part of some of these movies. “Friends for dinner! It’s rude to have friends for dinner!” Of course, Spike is best boy.
That ending was unexpected. Who would’ve guessed that part 1 was gonna be number one (other than anyone who watched it)? Anyway, yeah, having lost my mom, even though it’s been about 7 years, the scene where Littlefoot gets happy and starts chasing his mother, only to find out that it’s his shadow makes me misty eyed if it comes to mind
Fun fact, the rooter scene wasn't in the original film. It was added later at the suggestion of a psychologist to help kids better understand and deal with what they just saw.
Rooters scene was pretty random, but they added that in their cause test screening kids were to upset after Little Foot's mom died. So, they had a character come in and try to help ease the tension and provide hope.
As a child that grew up with that- I remember loving Rooter for that. And to this day, his words and his scene has remained perfectly ingrained in my mind. It always does in times that he was speaking about. I love Rooter.
Even though Land Before Time (original) has editing problems, the messages make sence. I've had a few coworkers who have passed away in the past 9 months, Rooter's words are the same that I pass on to those who are grieving. This movie is still a gem
Awesome to see you re-evaluate these movies. And I agree with you, the first film is the best movie Don Bluth made on an emotional level. NIM might outclass it in terms of animation, but I'll admit that it's a razor's edge that could be debated for time immemorial.
All of The Land Before Time adventures have been narrowed down from the point of knowledge to the original. There is a lot of interesting common knowledge following where the previous animated movies you know took place afterwards learning a whole new perspective.
Has anyone ever noticed that the Great Valley, essentially the last spot of food in whole world, is basically rendered unimportant? As the sequels go on, there is more and more foliage OUTSIDE of the Great Valley! 2, 3, 5 and 12 kept that right, and in a way 4, but 13 and 14, 14 especially, makes it look like the dinosaurs no longer have to stay in The Valley.
Imagine a Land Before Time movie with the same animation style and mature tone of the original film-and a carnivorous dinosaur that actually feels as threatening as the T-Rex from the first movie. And said carnivore actually *kills* someone this time around (Cera’s dad, Littlefoot’s Grandpa, etc.), showing that for the first time since the first movie, there are actual goddamn STAKES this time around. Oh, and maybe Don Bluth is back in the director’s chair.
My ranking would go: 14: The Land Before Time XIII: The Wisdom Of Friends 3/10 13: The Land Before Time XII: The Great Day Of The Flyers 4/10 12: The Land Before Time XI: Invasion Of The Tinysaurses 4/10 11: The Land Before Time VIII The Big Freeze 6/10 10.The Land Before Time III The Time Of The Great Giving 7/10 9: The Land Before Time XIV Journey Of The Brave 7/10 8 The Land Before Time X The Great LongNeck Migration 7/10 7: The Land Before Time VII The Stone Of Cold Fire 8/10 6: The Land Before Time II The Great Valley Adventure 8/10 5: The Land Before Time V: The Mysterious Island 8/10 4: The Land Before Time Vl: The Secret Of Saurus Rock 9/10 3: The Land Before Time lX: Journey To Big Water 9/10 2: The Land Before Time lV: Journey Through The Mists 9/10 1: The Land Before Time 1988 10/10
You know its funny how a direct to video film LBT 10 would have had the main character leaving make more sense then theatical films of Toy Story 4 , Forzen 2 and Ralph 2
I'm a bit late but here's my favorite TLBT sequels: 3, 6, 8 and 10. However, the original will always be my No. 1 just like the MHA intro. I become teary eyed thinking about it. Awesome list there 😢😀❤

I’m honestly glad you ranked the tenth film as high as you did. The only Land Before Time movies I had as a child was the first and the Longneck Migration so that sequel in particular holds a lot of nostalgic connection with me. Hell I think I even watched that movie more than the original.
Watched the first 13 on repeat as a kid. Well. The first 12, and 13 when I was feeling a little self destructive. Even as a child I knew the wisdom of friends was the worst one. The rest of them? All fair game.
Yeah, that comment from that Alex Garcia person perhaps should have realized that Walt Disney once said, "You're dead if you aim only for kids. Adults are only kids grown up, anyway!" That quote would by the late founder of Disney would absolutely destroy his argument that RaisorBlade should not criticize a movie just because it was made for kids. The late Walt Disney would totally call bullshit on the Alex Garcia person in the comment section that you showed from one of your videos in this video. Pure and simple.
11:16 That thing's face looks almost exactly like King gator from All Dogs go to Heaven. It's like they *knew* that song was a big lipped alligator moment.
I’ve been watching your channel since you started reviewing The Land Before Time movies. It’s so amazing how far you come, and now I’m a full-time subscriber to your channel. Keep up the good work with these reviews!
*The Land Before Time - AniMat’s Classic Reviews predictions* *Alternate title* Yep Yep Yep | A Review of the Original Land Before Time *Release* April 14, 2023 *Description* In case you don’t want to see the many, many sequels the franchise has to offer, stick with the standalone movie because it is the perfect dinosaur film *Score* Story: 10/10 Animation: 10/10 Characters: 9/10 *10/10* *The Land Before Time (sequels) - AniMat’s Reviews* *Alternate title* Unlucky 13 | A Review of TLBT Sequels *Release* Early 2028 (between Classic Reviews of Ice Age 3 directly a half-decade later in early March of that year and Help! Pretty much everything said in this video mirrors how I feel about the original and most of the sequels. Well, other than Sharptooth is a beast and I love him, but that’s minor to some people. Honestly, if the HTTYD movies and Lion King never existed, this would be my favorite movie of all time. And it’s not even due to the fact it has dinosaurs in it
I remember pretty much all these movies coming out when I was a kid . My dad's fave was the second one just cause of chomper but my fave is cera just cause I love triceratops ended up buying the big bundle with all the movies even if there cringy
Spike's the only one the movies didn't ruin. I liked Petrie and Ducky, but the later Movies kind of made me care for them less, plus it kind of feels disrespectful to move on without Ducky's original VA.
Great updated list you made as Land Before Time is truly is a great film and made an impact on me along with All Dogs go to Heaven, as me & Grandma love them as my grandma pass away lately...... -_- The sequels are very hit or miss but it is interesting to look back, and do mean interesting. That said, your reviews did made you who are and Merry Christmas Rasior, as you have a great holiday. :)
Mr. Raisorblades i am going watch all the Land Before Time flims and tv series. Besause today is The Land Before Time 36 anniversary, and i have to watch all the 13 or 14 Land Before Time Movies i watch the first on week ago, i watch second on monday , i watch the third, and fourth on tuesday, fifth, and sixth on wedsnday. And seventh and eighth on today and i got 6 movies left and a tv shows! And also HAPPY 36 YEARS ANNIVERSARY LAND BEFORE TIME!
I’m new to your channel and I have just have a few things to ask. 1. What’s the best thing you like about Spike so much ( not to complain/ just asking out of curiosity)? 2. If it helps I’m currently writing a fanfiction crossover series that has little foot in the gang play a role, and just to be clear , the story that involves them is meant to have the same theme as the original. Which means No songs sung by the kids or anyone There’s gonna be a lot of major steaks for the characters as the story progresses Their will be graphic battles with blood and some swearing . 3. Everyone characters has grounded and realistic development.
I get annoyed by people about this kind of dumb stupid stuff that they do like seem like a bad movie is OK just because the specific bad movie was made for kids I’m glad that somebody has the same opinion about this as this is stupid I’m glad I’m not the only one here
Here Is my own personal ranking for the TLBT movies from least favorite to favorite 14: The Land Before Time XIII: The Wisdom Of Friends 4/10 13: The Land Before Time XII: The Great Day Of The Flyers 7/10 12: The Land Before Time XIV: Journey Of The Brave 7.5/10 11: The Land Before Time IV: Journey Through The Mists 7.8/10 10: The Land Before Time XI: Invasion Of The Timysaurus 8/10 9: The Land Before Time IX: Journey To Big Water 8.5/10 8: The Land Before Time VII: The Stone Of Cold Fire: 8.9/10 7: The Land Before Time V: The Mysterious Island 8.9/10 6: The Land Before Time III: The Time Of The Great Giving 8.9/10 5: The Land Before Time VI: The Secret Of Saurus Rock 9/10 4: The Land Before Time VIII: The Big Freeze 9/10 3: The Land Before Time II: The Great Valley Adventure 9.2/10 2: The Land Before Time X: The Great Longneck Migration 9.4/10 1: The Land Before Time (original) 10/10
Merry Christmas razor And you should review something good it’s been awhile since you’ve done that I suggest rango I love westerns and that’s a great animated western
I was pleasantly surprised to see III as #2. I watched that as a pre/early teen and was surprised at how good it was for a cheapo sequel. I remember quite liking II and IV at the time as well. Later, I tried watching some of the later sequels (up to maybe IX or X I think) but those left me indifferent, which is unsurprising seeing as I was in my 20s at the time.
@@ConnanTheCivilizedI mean they're right but milking franchises until they loose all their original meaning is par for the course for mega corporations like Disney and Universal
I love the original movie it really is an animation masterpiece, the 3rd is imo by far the best sequel but I stopped watching after the series after the 6th or 7th?
Do you think Land Before Time should still use 2D animation or go over to 3D cgi animations? I just want to know people opinions for me it should stay 2D.
Considering how much backlash "Dinosaur" and "The Good Dinosaur" have received, I don't think it will be that appealing to have it in 3D. Even if it was hyper-realistic and documentary-esque, I think it will be kinda lifeless
Have you ever noticed that Ali on the poster for JttM looks better and more like a young female Longneck than in the final product? I know it’s minor, but she just looked less like.... girly Littlefoot.
I haven't had many major losses yet, but the mother dying always makes me tear up because of the bond me and my own mom have
"All show, no tell." I find that most intriguing, as a fan of "show, don't tell" storytelling.
The Land Before Time 3: The Time of the Great Giving was the movie I watched the most when I was a kid. It did make me cry in some areas.
Chomper is the the only redeeming part of some of these movies.
“Friends for dinner! It’s rude to have friends for dinner!”
Of course, Spike is best boy.
That ending was unexpected. Who would’ve guessed that part 1 was gonna be number one (other than anyone who watched it)? I'm subscribing to you purely because of your love for Spike.
It reminds me that I really love Velma from Scooby-Doo.
Now i also like Spike. I kinda liked him since from the time i was playing the series' flash game.
Same I Spike like with tiger from an american tail
Those land before time movies series really touch my heart !!!!
Its nice to see you revisiting and reviewing the franchise again, I really enjoyed your original colossal review on the series.
All of The Land Before Time adventures have been narrowed down from the point of knowledge to the original. There is a lot of interesting common knowledge following where the previous animated movies you know took place afterwards learning a whole new perspective.
If you watched this video and played a drinking game where you drank every time Raisor simped for Spike, you would die of alcohol poisoning.
I remember as a kid liking the first 6 movies on a vhs
But my favorite ones were the 5th and 1st one always
Also spike is a god 😮
AND SO DOES HOOTY
SPIKE IS LIFE,SPIKE IS EVERYTHING,BOW DOWN BEFORE S P I K E!
The villains in 7 are unique with them not being predators who can or cant talk they have more of a goal then food
Damn you rally like Spike ^^
to be fair, he seems to be the character that would be the nicest to have around. Hes just super chill :)
I feel like the first one has the best animation… like it’s all hand drawn and the color palette is way better.
Yeah lbt 1 objectively has the best animation of the franchise lmao
Has anyone ever noticed that the Great Valley, essentially the last spot of food in whole world, is basically rendered unimportant? As the sequels go on, there is more and more foliage OUTSIDE of the Great Valley! 2, 3, 5 and 12 kept that right, and in a way 4, but 13 and 14, 14 especially, makes it look like the dinosaurs no longer have to stay in The Valley.
When a two second CLIP gives you the feels-Littlefoot’s mother dying-you know it was a great scene.
I like how in most of the movies they tried using a different predator for them. It’s nice to see dinosaurs like baryonyx be in the spotlight.
I absolutely agree with your take on the long neck migration, shorty was a top tier character in my eyes.
I agree with your opening statement spike is definitely worth fighting for
These movies were my childhood. I had a whole collection on VHS.
The fact that I watched the first one about 10 - 14 years ago and I can still remember it and how sad it was proves the impact it had.
My ranking would go:
14: The Land Before Time XIII: The Wisdom Of Friends 3/10
13: The Land Before Time XII: The Great Day Of The Flyers 4/10
12: The Land Before Time XI: Invasion Of The Tinysaurses 4/10
11: The Land Before Time VIII The Big Freeze 6/10
10.The Land Before Time III The Time Of The Great Giving 7/10
9: The Land Before Time XIV Journey Of The Brave 7/10
8 The Land Before Time X The Great LongNeck Migration 7/10
7: The Land Before Time VII The Stone Of Cold Fire 8/10
6: The Land Before Time II The Great Valley Adventure 8/10
5: The Land Before Time V: The Mysterious Island 8/10
4: The Land Before Time Vl: The Secret Of Saurus Rock 9/10
3: The Land Before Time lX: Journey To Big Water 9/10
2: The Land Before Time lV: Journey Through The Mists 9/10
1: The Land Before Time 1988 10/10
And giving us Spike.
All hal our lord and savior Spike.
What a holy being. 32:23 He is spitting up Facts.
You know its funny how a direct to video film LBT 10 would have had the main character leaving make more sense then theatical films of Toy Story 4 , Forzen 2 and Ralph 2
Spike is the best character ever created
I am so glad I grew up with the third movie I wish I grew up with the first one but the third one is a really good movie
Spike is the best part of this entire series. Full agree.
I'm a bit late but here's my favorite TLBT sequels: 3, 6, 8 and 10. However, the original will always be my No. 1 just like the MHA intro. I become teary eyed thinking about it. Awesome list there 😢😀❤

Now we just wait for the land berfore time 15
3:44 Yes, because GOD FORBID we hold creators to some kind of standard instead of just eating whatever slop they feed us. I hate these people.
Spikey holidays and a happy new littlefoot!
I’m honestly glad you ranked the tenth film as high as you did. The only Land Before Time movies I had as a child was the first and the Longneck Migration so that sequel in particular holds a lot of nostalgic connection with me. Hell I think I even watched that movie more than the original.
Ok. That primal bit got me good. Omg.

It may not be the worst animated franchise, but it definitely has more quantity than quality
*Score*
6/10 (4/10 via the two-digit sequels and 3/10 via The Wisdom of Friends)
Spike is basically Hooty from the Owl House: they're the best parts.
about ducks's va..... yeeeaahhh, it's kinda sad when you found out why
Don bluth is probably screaming now with this
I enjoyed your reviews of these movies so this was very enjoyable
2:10
*DISAPPOINTMENT IN THE GAME OF LIFE*
Omg I remember that movies, thought it was a fever dream
Is The Land Before Time movies anyone else's childhood?
I'm mainly talking about the earlier movies than anything else.
(0:00-0:25) Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you the crossover I had no idea I need in my life until today!
Great updated list you made as Land Before Time is truly is a great film and made an impact on me along with All Dogs go to Heaven, as me & Grandma love them as my grandma pass away lately...... -_-
The sequels are very hit or miss but it is interesting to look back, and do mean interesting. That said, your reviews did made you who are and Merry Christmas Rasior, as you have a great holiday. :)
Yay! You still used my thumbnail from way back! Thanks dude.
Merry Christmas :3
That egg song is best thing in the series when you watch it in finnish xD
Because there is a bouble meaning in the word ”muna”
When you said that The Land Before Time is Bluth's greatest movie I legit, no joke, said out loud "preach brother"
Yeah, Dragonforce!!! 🤘🤘
You definitely grown as a content creator, I'm proud of you!!
Why is the first one the only one not to be a musical? Ironic since don bluth loved making musicals.
Amazing work right there 👏😁❤️
I agree
Spike is precious ❤
Also I love the art work of you and all the land before time characters
ah, a man of true spike worshiping i see.
Which means
No songs sung by the kids or anyone
There’s gonna be a lot of major steaks for the characters as the story progresses
Their will be graphic battles with blood and some swearing .
3. Everyone characters has grounded and realistic development.
Hey Raisor good to see your doing well my dude through tuff times.its good see some more content more a less the land before time series
I get annoyed by people about this kind of dumb stupid stuff that they do like seem like a bad movie is OK just because the specific bad movie was made for kids I’m glad that somebody has the same opinion about this as this is stupid I’m glad I’m not the only one here
Imagine if they made another sequel only this time they mess up spike
Spike is my spirit animal him and Rico from Penguins
good job at revisiting. You are a great content creator. I'll always like the first one.
The 15th movie 'the land after the land before time'
I stopped seeing the sequels after 7. Cause i grew out of them. Nothing beats the original

Merry Christmas razor
And you should review something good it’s been awhile since you’ve done that
I suggest rango
I love westerns and that’s a great animated western
For some reason Cera is my favorite
I think it's because I relate to her, I have an extremely short temper that results in me being rude...
Lol the best intro
I was pleasantly surprised to see III as #2. I watched that as a pre/early teen and was surprised at how good it was for a cheapo sequel. I remember quite liking II and IV at the time as well. Later, I tried watching some of the later sequels (up to maybe IX or X I think) but those left me indifferent, which is unsurprising seeing as I was in my 20s at the time.
Also, Adventuring is the best (i.e. the only memorable one) out of all the sequel songs.
I literally thought there was only three movies.... Boy was I wrong 😟
And people think Disney is unendingly greedy with all the remakes in the last decade. Holy shit.
@@ConnanTheCivilizedI mean they're right but milking franchises until they loose all their original meaning is par for the course for mega corporations like Disney and Universal
Thicknose is voiced by Rafiki, yet he's not animated by James Baxter?!
That's it! 0 out of 10!
10000000000000000000000000000000000000000 out of 10
Don't make me your mama jokes my mother is dying/joke-ish
I love the original movie it really is an animation masterpiece, the 3rd is imo by far the best sequel but I stopped watching after the series after the 6th or 7th?
I don't know what it is, but I'm starting to think this guy likes Spike. 🤔
/s
What if the first Land Before time film got a video game
*Spike Ahegao in the thumbnail*
Also, as soon as you start showing clips of the actual first film, the difference in animation is immediately and strikingly apparent.
i have only watched the first land before time
i did not know there were some many movies
Do you think Land Before Time should still use 2D animation or go over to 3D cgi animations? I just want to know people opinions for me it should stay 2D.
Considering how much backlash "Dinosaur" and "The Good Dinosaur" have received, I don't think it will be that appealing to have it in 3D. Even if it was hyper-realistic and documentary-esque, I think it will be kinda lifeless
Have you ever noticed that Ali on the poster for JttM looks better and more like a young female Longneck than in the final product? I know it’s minor, but she just looked less like.... girly Littlefoot.
This show was the SHIT back in the day
Dude lol you just got hundreds of subs in a few days lol
