Try East Anglia - Ipswich, Woodbridge, or Felixstowe area for a stealth camp sometime. Bonus points if you do it at the old air base that used to be there (rumor has it a UFO landed there in the early 80's)
You've inspired me and the Mrs to buy a t4 and start camping mate, I know things sometimes seem a bit shit but just think of how many people you help get through crap times just watching you... or how many people you have inspired... love the channel, you are awesome... keep doing it aslong as you can as 200 thousand people clearly love you 🙂
Stealth camping! I had a feeling the other day that I recognised you from somewhere and couldn't place it. I've since remembered. During the start of the pandemic I was working in a care home. Experienced some of the lowest mental health states I'd been in for a long time. Reminding residents with dementia, why their families couldn't visit over and over (they knew their families weren't visiting as frequently, but would often forget about the virus and lockdown.) was brutal and hit hard. It was around that time I got into stealth camping videos. You were one of the first people I started watching. It gave me a brief, vicarious sense of freedom, it helped me escape. It had a direct impact on the state of mind I was in at the time, for the better. Might seem silly, but I owe you a big thank you dude! ✌️🙏
@@WillsWhereabouts 🙏 I got a bit hooked on the van lifestyle videos back then. Taking home all that emotion from work, plus the pandemic, plus not seeing family, plus not being able to play music live or rehearse anymore plus plus.. 😂😂😂. Just was way, way overwhelmed at the time. You and the other van lifers provided a very welcome/needed escape. 👌✌️
Turn the ignition on so all the dashboard lights up but don’t actually start the van, make sure all the doors are shut, press the lock and unlock button a few times and the key might re-sync itself. Happens in my Citroen and works every time so hopefully it works for you 👍🏻
The problem is perhaps he has the spare key ( non remote ) on the same key chain ( looked like in the video ) , because they use a *transponder/proximity* immobilser setup , it might be trying to read both keys and doesnt know what to do therefore dropping one out of sync ?.
I got to say Willie Boy, you are one of the only vanlifers that actually keep a tidy and clean van. Props to you! Keeping things neat, tidy, and organized actually makes living in such a small place enjoyable and stress free. Some of these vanlifers might as well sleep and eat in a trash dumpster with the way they keep their van. No wonder they have trouble with mice and insects. I like the way you take pride in keeping up standards. Sending greetings from New Kent, Virginia, USA, and stay safe on your travels.
They're pretty limited in Europe for sleeper size. But here in the USA we have tractor trailers with sleeper sizes all the way from a coffinbox size of 36" all the way to 210" and even bigger. I drove Tractor trailers from 1988 to 2009 when I was forced to retire. And I had sleepers from 48" all the way to 190" and the 190" had everything a house had including a toilet and shower. The only reason I had to go to a truck stop was for fuel. I had everything else I needed with me. Love the vlogs and your van is looking spot on!!
Try a new battery in the key fob. Go to a timson shoe repair place at most supermarkets and they would test it and fit a new one if required. A lot cheaper than a new key !. Keep up the vids mate, all the best.
It must be incredibly vexing that, after all of the careful thought and hard work you put into that van and how great it looks, the key fob refuses to cooperate with you. Keep on keeping on, Will! Also, maybe a trip to Ireland in the van would be a good idea.
I'm a lorry driver, it's not all that in the cab, 2 bunk beds (but no bunking.. Well there was a time north of Milan RHO,.. Oh and Lyon) 😂. A Microwave above the windscreen in the cupboards and a fridge under the bed, but with beer/wine for the weekend and movies on the laptop it's ok. Don't do Europe anymore just UK so got a campervan to get away in.
...You can buy a device to program your key to your vehicle. I was looking into it for my wife's car because she breaks them by turning to hard in the ignition repeatedly. IIRC it was about $100. Or you can use a service for much cheaper. Sounds like you went to a dealership, which rake you over the coals for that stuff. Worth you looking into. Even if you have to spend the 3-5 minutes once a month, is better than not having working buttons, or the repeat expenses. :) Your home is looking beautiful. Would gladly live in that and tour the world. You finally got where you were meant to be. Good job, bruh.
Comment on a forum said taking off the earth connection from the battery and then reconnecting it again solved the key issue, same van as yours, worth a try. Good to see you on the up mate.
I need more space for rest than cooking and shower. Gray water disposal is biggest wake up call when you start camping in a van. I am not living in a van but only camp for a couple of days and the wet towel could keep me fresh.
It’s a joy to see how far you’ve come since I first began watching in your car days Will. Remember to give yourself the opportunity to acknowledge your accomplishments. I must admit to laughing my little socks off when you almost had toilet trouble 😂 Do more Wales 🏴 xx
You cook the same as many others do. Almost everything in one pot. As an ex truck driver in the USA, sometime the best entertainment is watching trucks trying to get backed into a spot. You will be doing great when you find that only flat and level Roller coaster of life. Thanks for sharing and have a great day.
I’m a trucker will and yes we have a nice comfy memory foam mattress/bed fridge and usually a microwave mine had a TV also 😉 Thanks bud I’m glad you’re a happier than you have been. Watching these when I park up for the night keeps me entertained. Congrats on the 200k well deserved 🍻
A.W Jenkinson, Forest products they take waste card etc to recycle depos...and also bark etc to the Westward compost/bark factory. Incase anyone was wondering
Glad you seem happier. Living in a van isn't the end game in my view. It just provides cheap accommodation to allow you to do what you want to do. It's like renovating a flat, and then just sitting in it all day. Just being in a van, for the sake of it isn't living. I'm sure you find your purpose again, the van will become more of a joy, enabling you to pick the parts of van life you like, and the parts of 'real life' you like, and mix the two. That's what I found anyways. Nice vid.
My Ford F150 has a similar problem with one of the key fobs. In my case I just take out the battery and rub it between my fingers and it is good to go for another few weeks. Not saying that will fix yours but it works for me. Ron Cumpsty, Canada.
on the key fob, you didn't mention anything about the battery, but i figure that was the first thing you tried. Another reason can be that your wifi internet device interferes with the fob's signal, once the battery level drops on the fob (you can power that off and try it, to eliminate this possibility). Also, some cars that are parked on a non-level terrain also are programed to not respond to the lock/unlock signal. Another reason can be the locking system fuse in the fuse panel fries. On a non related note, your spirits have lifted at least on camera, congrats.
Hi Will, I have just watched the Urban Vanlife channel. It was good to see you there and your brother. That is the happiest I have seen you! You are building up the vanlife community that you are looking for. Well done and keep pushing forward.
Will, it's Sharon, a mechanic once told me off for the amount of weight on my car keyrings! It causes damage when you're driving and they're bouncing about. Not saying it will be a fix but maybe worth a try!? I also have a friend that drives for A.W Jenkinson if you want a look in a truck! Keep smiling buddy 😊
As someone who lives a mile and a half from that carpark, I can say hand on heart that those HGVs are a pain in the backside when they're trying to pull in from Gloucester Road! Nice to see you buying dinner in the same Sainsburys that I shop in though. 😁
I don't really care how you film tbh. Just love your vlogs mate. Genuinely cheers me up when I have a crap day so thanks very much for that mate. Those drivers gonna be up and about early. Under EU driving regulations they need 11 hours rest nightly (can be reduced to 9 hours occasionally). So if they arrive at 7 pm they will be out of there at 6 am. Happy safe travels.
Nice to see you back out stealth camping Will...there's a few foreign lorries near where I work and I was watching them make a fry up the other day. All their cooking stuff is in compartments at the side of the trucks. When I was doing 3 nights out a week I used to take my folding bike as it was easier to just 'nip' into town for stuff.
Random tip , if making a bolognaise, you can use dried egg noodles instead (the thick ones not thin), like Sharwoods. Makes easy for storage and cooks a lot quicker than pasta , like 4 minutes, cause it’s an egg noodle and pasta usually has egg (well fresh does anyway) then cause of the sauce you don’t notice too much of a difference but much easier for storage and cook time. Great video as always
For onions, my mum said just take off the first fleshy layer. It's easier and that layer is often damaged or too chewy anyway. I'm all for efficiency :) Good to see the stealth camps again. It feels like we are home again.
The key problem could be coming from your side door open/close sensor. Try standing outside while pushing hard against your side door and try to lock it. I Had this issue with more fiat Ducato models. It wouldn't lock or unlock sometimes because of this defect. Hope this helps

Hi Will, it’s so great to see you a bit happier this week, it’s always nice to have a bit of company around you, I really enjoyed your video Will, your an awesome guy, very clean and tidy. Another stealth camp next time, I hope that your stomach is better all the best to you and Mary. Xx🚐🤟🏼✌️💕
Key fob will be because the ones your getting programmed are aftermarket version (look like original but there not ) get a locksmith with an oem version and you’ll have no problems
Regarding the book The Secret, I read back in 2014, I figured why not, at the very least, even if my dreams don't all come true, I'll at least feel better; and simply put, I do. It taught me to be more conscious of my thoughts, to not immediately react negatively towards ppl & situations, and it made me realize I have control over my emotions and how I feel day to day. I put these ideas into practice, more positive self-talk and thoughts, eliminating negative emotions and responses to things, and controlling my emotions. I can't honestly say my life got wildly better after I read The Secret, but I can tell you for sure that my mental state is a lot better. I'm happier and I've learned to be grateful for what I have, and not dwell on what I don't have.
My L2H2 boxer didn't come with the remote key, I've wired in an aftermarket alarm to have remote central locking. Was cheaper than having a key coded but took some work to find which wires did which. Maybe having a firm fit an aftermarket alarm might be your final solution
Good to see the good old stealth camp videos back (reason why I subbed in first place). Although all your videos are a good watch, just something about the stealth ones! To me it sounds like interference front something in the van dude, guessing it worked fine when you first had the van and for longer than 1 month? Maybe try disconnect the van batteries for 5 mins then reconnect and try keyfob to see. Hope this helps man 👍🏻
your windows are squeaky lol. get some silicone spray and spray it down the ends and it will stop the squeaking and they will move up and down faster as well. What i like to do with linguini once its cooked rinse it in cold water get the starch off of it then put a knob of butter in the empty pan and then just put the linguini back in and heat it up a bit. its lovely!
oh yeah! the stealth camps are back. cracking vibe on this. Reminded me of the car camps in the early days in the Galaxy. It was really good to see yourself "on the up" and enjoying the moment. I dont mind saying that I did do a little cheer. Deffo do some more. BTW licky escape from the parking ticket bandits in the white van. Stay safe and funky, best regs, Kenny
I only use chicken mince, though I usually live on Boracay island, it's common there, I never use pre made sauce, use a tin of tomatoes, puree and add your own spices to taste, for spag bol I like spicy Italian seasoning, pepper and chilli powder, buylt each to their own! Nice to see you in a more positive state!
@@WillsWhereabouts no problem will I remember messaging you about My mental health when I lost 2 jobs during the pandemic and your words helped a lot so I just wanna say thankyou! And your not alone pal!! Life is on the up now!!
I watch all your videos. I don't press the like button, or leave comments on almost all the stuff I watch on UA-cam. Well done mate, you remind me of me when things go tits up lmao. Well done mate, I believe you are a proper, decent, genuine human being. The van is awesome, fair play brother, much love and respect Keep the content going.
The lorries or trucks state side have a lot more space as they're bigger. The down side of the cabovers that are more a European thing is that your living quarters are the bonnet & get tipped every time u work on the engine!
I’m with you on the chicken mince my man . Heck is a good company and gets their produce from high standard British farms which is obviously always good ! . Great video mate
I’m a HGV driver will as well as a vanlifer my HGV has a fridge, microwave and comfy single bed but some others are really kitted out mine has just what I need 🤙
I like your logical approach to life. You’d make a wonderful policeman. I’ve been in quite a few lorry drivers cabins (in my younger days) and they are nice and high up, although trying to climb down afterwards with shaky legs and stilettos is a challenge. I will try Heck chicken mince , Heck sausages are pretty good . Love your foldable colander and your tasty cooking.
Well done, loved it,and do you know what, you seemed to love it too. Watch where you store your key, think back what you changed since when issue started happening. Magnets can cause a issue I was told, are there magnets in the van,say those blinds, just a idea, where ever you store your keys. God your van looks superb.Congrats on 200k subs.
@@WillsWhereabouts ah sure why wouldn't i,you are doing your best, and that's all you can ask of yourself. Look up Wim Hoff, he is super for boosting us all, cold showers, sea swims extra. Great saying from a knowledgeable man I know" that was yesterday, this is now, who knows what tomorrow brings, and who cares"
Glad you seem happier Will, love all your vids and your positivity. Even when you're down, the way you problem solve is incredibly inspiring. Also, that fart made me laugh like a child! Thank you!! 😁😁
Will I'm from southeast London, alot ot my works in Surrey, so we leave around 5am get to surrey at 6 and sleep local to the job until 8. I knew knew of these days I would see you. And today was the day haha! I won't disclose where you are but all I'll say is beautiful views 🤫 I pulled I'm a said that's good spot next to that stealthy! And it was MARY haha. Shame you were still asleep when we left! All the best bro
Those trucks probably have just a bunk and curtains. If you're lucky, there might be a fridge and, in the case of top of the range trucks (Scania Topline etc) there may be a microwave and TV. It's pretty basic though, especially if you're away living in it for two or three weeks at a time!
Try changing the battery in ur fob key. When u buy the new key fob that battery could been in there years. You should be able to find the battery in poundland
Love to see a stealth video from you. Been watching since the early days and have really enjoyed seeing the progress from car to van. You're doing an awesome job, inspiring!
I'm gonna give that Chicken Mince Bolognese a go Will, it looks nice. Good to see you enjoying your evening after dinner - stealth camps aren't always my number one choice but I enjoyed this one, it looked well cosey.
I was told to keep my car key separate from my other keys on my key fob, especially if you have other electric key fobs they sometimes can cancel each other out or you have a short in your key fob and you need a brand new one instead of just reprogramming in that case it's more expensive
Love watching your videos mate 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 if you ever need a little ginger scouser to keep you company on one of your adventures? Am here waiting mate 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I had same problem with key fob on a ford transit the sensor was under the head liner i can got to it via the interior light. the sensor was collecting condensation . Worth a try locating you sensor van end inspecting the connections .
Great video as usual Will, something different with the wagon spotting rather than trees and sheep too :) With Mary, try disconnecting the earth strap on the van battery (not your leisure one), it does a reset on the van electrics which tends to work with Peugeot/Fiat vans when the fob stops working, I spent a few years working on this platform of van used for horse boxes and motorhomes. It could also be something you've added too if this doesnt work, anything wireless? Congrats on the 200k too, bloody well deserved!!!
Hey Will. I'm a hgv driver. Ask away. The company that you were mentioned AW Jenkinson. They deal in biomass and waste products. I used to work for them. Also to pass the boredom on evenings I used to set myself a goal of running at least 10km a night or cycling 40km. I used to park up in some stunning places and it is good for the sole and your mental health. If your ever up near Cumbria give me a shout. Keep up the good work
fiat has massive problems with keys not working, disconnect bsi unit under drivers steering wheel and reconnect that should work. could always try disconnecting battery to vehicle as well that will do the same job. i used to be a machinic at the ambulance station and had to do this once a week with them
It looks like an easy spot to park in. Good that you rest well. Dinner looked yummy 😋 and what a great kitchen area you’ve created. This video was great, and you seem more comfortable. That’s a good book.
Let me know what you guys thought of this stealth camp as filmed it in a different way than usual! 🤟🏼
Really good video will have to try the heck chicken.
Great video and park up. I actually disabled remote door lock unlock in ecu so no one can record the signal and rob my camper while i am shopping.
Enjoyed the POV aspect of this video. Was a nice addition.

Thanks for this 👍👍
Regarding the book The Secret, I read back in 2014, I figured why not, at the very least, even if my dreams don't all come true, I'll at least feel better; and simply put, I do.
Sounds like you have found a balance that works well for you 🤩🤩🙏
My L2H2 boxer didn't come with the remote key, I've wired in an aftermarket alarm to have remote central locking.
Hope this helps man 👍🏻
Just want to say this video was awesome! Reminded me exactly why I randomly subscribed when I came across your content by happenstance. Keep it up!
Thanks Corey ✊
So happy seeing you enjoy again. Love from Australia.
Thanks Robert ✊🤘
Yyyeesss the stealth camps! Love it mate.
Thanks 🙏
your windows are squeaky lol. get some silicone spray and spray it down the ends and it will stop the squeaking and they will move up and down faster as well.
What i like to do with linguini once its cooked rinse it in cold water get the starch off of it then put a knob of butter in the empty pan and then just put the linguini back in and heat it up a bit. its lovely!
Thanks for the tips ✊✊
oh yeah! the stealth camps are back. cracking vibe on this.
Appreciate the comment Kenny 👍👍👍
I only use chicken mince, though I usually live on Boracay island, it's common there, I never use pre made sauce, use a tin of tomatoes, puree and add your own spices to taste, for spag bol I like spicy Italian seasoning, pepper and chilli powder, buylt each to their own! Nice to see you in a more positive state!
Smashing it will! Glad to see a happier you!! Keep it up buddy!
Thanks Chris ✊💪
@@WillsWhereabouts no problem will I remember messaging you about
My mental health when I lost 2 jobs during the pandemic and your words helped a lot so I just wanna say thankyou! And your not alone pal!!
Life is on the up now!!
great to see you back doing what you do best!
Thanks Paul 👍👍
I watch all your videos.
I don't press the like button, or leave comments on almost all the stuff I watch on UA-cam.
Well done mate, you remind me of me when things go tits up lmao.
Well done mate, I believe you are a proper, decent, genuine human being.
The van is awesome, fair play brother, much love and respect
Keep the content going.
Thank you 🙏
@@WillsWhereabouts
No worries mate.... Keep up the good work.
And ill try and like... Comment more.
Go steady mate
Always enjoy your honesty, great vlog. Hope you're feeling better soon!
Thanks 🙏
The lorries or trucks state side have a lot more space as they're bigger. The down side of the cabovers that are more a European thing is that your living quarters are the bonnet & get tipped every time u work on the engine!
Good to see you back on the horse bro….stay positive keep your heart up!
Thanks Shane 🙂
I’m with you on the chicken mince my man . Heck is a good company and gets their produce from high standard British farms which is obviously always good ! . Great video mate
💯 Nathan thanks for watching 👍
I’m a HGV driver will as well as a vanlifer my HGV has a fridge, microwave and comfy single bed but some others are really kitted out mine has just what I need 🤙
Thank you 🤘✊
Stealth camping is my favorite series of the videos. You filmed so good.
Thank you 🙏
I like your logical approach to life.
Lol! When you were straining the spaghetti & the steam rising I was blowing at the steam 😂 x
Thanks Lorraine for the advice and kind comment 💜🤘
@@WillsWhereabouts ah sure why wouldn't i,you are doing your best, and that's all you can ask of yourself. Look up Wim Hoff, he is super for boosting us all, cold showers, sea swims extra.
Great saying from a knowledgeable man I know" that was yesterday, this is now, who knows what tomorrow brings, and who cares"
Glad you seem happier Will, love all your vids and your positivity. Even when you're down, the way you problem solve is incredibly inspiring.
Also, that fart made me laugh like a child! Thank you!! 😁😁
Thank you 😊
Will get a nice girl, then you will have contentment x
Will I'm from southeast London, alot ot my works in Surrey, so we leave around 5am get to surrey at 6 and sleep local to the job until 8. I knew knew of these days I would see you. And today was the day haha! I won't disclose where you are but all I'll say is beautiful views 🤫 I pulled I'm a said that's good spot next to that stealthy! And it was MARY haha. Shame you were still asleep when we left! All the best bro
Seeing the AW Jenkinson trucks is a nice wee link to home for me. They're from a huge sawmill in Lockerbie, just down the road from where I grew up.
Thanks for the comment, I like that it has brought back memories for you 🙂
Those trucks probably have just a bunk and curtains.
Thanks for the tips 🤩
Hope it works
Love to see a stealth video from you. Been watching since the early days and have really enjoyed seeing the progress from car to van. You're doing an awesome job, inspiring!
Thanks 🙏
Just like the galaxy days… you’re a top fella will
Thank you 😊
I'm gonna give that Chicken Mince Bolognese a go Will, it looks nice. Good to see you enjoying your evening after dinner - stealth camps aren't always my number one choice but I enjoyed this one, it looked well cosey.
Nice to see Will doing what Will does best. Keep em coming buddy
Thank you 🙏
Try disconnecting the van battery for a few minutes then try your key fob ,same thing happened my Peugeot boxer
Thanks 🙏
Great vid, good to see you happier mate.
Thank you 🙏
Now this is the wills whereabouts I've been missing! great video! back to the good ole park up and cook
Love these stealth camping videos
Awesome thanks 😊
I was told to keep my car key separate from my other keys on my key fob, especially if you have other electric key fobs
they sometimes can cancel each other out or you have a short in your key fob and you need a brand new one instead of just reprogramming in that case it's more expensive
Yey welcome back. I’d love to see a camp video with your dog (parents dog?) you look a lot happier.
Thank you 🙏
Love watching your videos mate 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 if you ever need a little ginger scouser to keep you company on one of your adventures? Am here waiting mate 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Robbie, however I do already have a little ginger scouser 😂😂 ssshhh don’t tell him I said that though
Nice one Will, thanks for sharing and you sound a bit chirpier - on the up.
Yes, much more positive thanks 🙏
You seem better this week,I think you should come to Gorleston on sea Norfolk, van life is ok hear, jus along harbours mouth
Thanks Wayne ✊
I had same problem with key fob on a ford transit the sensor was under the head liner i can got to it via the interior light. the sensor was collecting condensation . Worth a try locating you sensor van end inspecting the connections .
Another book you might find useful is Mo Gawdat’s “Solve for Happy”
🙏🙏👍
Great video as usual Will, something different with the wagon spotting rather than trees and sheep too :)
With Mary, try disconnecting the earth strap on the van battery (not your leisure one), it does a reset on the van electrics which tends to work with Peugeot/Fiat vans when the fob stops working, I spent a few years working on this platform of van used for horse boxes and motorhomes. It could also be something you've added too if this doesnt work, anything wireless?
Congrats on the 200k too, bloody well deserved!!!
Thanks some great tips and ideas here 👍👍
Brilliant Will we have always enjoyed your ‘Stealth Camping’ from the Granada days, your back to basics and you look happier. Steve & Anne IOW 😎
Thanks guys appreciate it 🙏
Keep up the good work
fiat has massive problems with keys not working, disconnect bsi unit under drivers steering wheel and reconnect that should work.
could always try disconnecting battery to vehicle as well that will do the same job.
i used to be a machinic at the ambulance station and had to do this once a week with them
Glad to see your feeling much better x
Thanks Christine 🙏
This reminded me of the stealth ford galaxy days and similar cooking. The advantage being able to stand up and deal instantly with being taken short.
Much easier to be able to stand whilst cooking 🧑🍳
So love your set up , it’s fantastic .
Thanks Sarah 😃
Another cool video mate, keep up the good work
It looks like an easy spot to park in. Good that you rest well. Dinner looked yummy 😋 and what a great kitchen area you’ve created. This video was great, and you seem more comfortable. That’s a good book.
Thank you 🙏
