The Driver side is supposed to be Lower & the Passenger side is to be higher. As oncoming traffic is typically on the Driver side, so as not to Blind Oncoming traffic.
I just used another, stock, suv at the same distance. Both headlights sit at 36+ inches so their beam should throw at about the same height and width. However the driver light cut off line on stock headlights sit lower than the passenger and I think that's due to help oncoming traffic
Because the truck is raised dont you need to lower the beam more? For trucks that are stock heigh they suggest 2 to 3 inches lower already but if you raise that truck then cut off is that much higher which will shine on oncoming traffic...
Just got Morimotos for my Tacoma, is there a certain width range for them? I need to adjust the height of the beam pattern, but wondering about the width.
I can't reach the part of the headlight you are turning, do I have to remove the cover? My lights have been super low ever since I've installed them. Thanks
The way you've adjusted these lights leaves them so high they'll shine in the mirrors, and on the people inside, of most cars you follow. That's rude. They should be adjusted low enough to illuminate the license plate of the car ahead, but not shine into the windows.
That’s too dangerous. If it’s that low then he won’t be able to see what’s ahead of him. Keep in mind a lifted car is already going to blind most cars since they sit higher than normal.
I have an questions, I have a 2022 Toyota Tacoma SR factory head light, bought at Amazon it’s Fahren Ursprung H11 LED Headlight Bulbs, 14000 Lumens 6500K. And I did follow any instructions on internet said 25 feets walls, four feet’s horizontal. After that many cars all piss off at me keep pull over and when I stop red light and cross another side by red light, this second times two different car’s headlight turn flashlight on me. And sometimes drive two opposite lanes keep flashlight on me too. People think my led light bulbs think it’s high beams. I’m very upset because I don’t want bother them or keep flashlights on me. I don’t get it! What I can to do?
I have a 2018 Tacoma that is slightly lifted, mainly because of bigger tires. From the ground to the middle of my headlights is 42 1/2 inches. What should my heighth be on the wall that I should be lowering/raising my lights to?
Do the morimoto headlights come properly adjusted for the Tacoma? Or do you have to adjust the lights if you install the morimoto headlights on a stock Tacoma? Or only if lifted?
so you saying once I lift my truck I should adjust it higher like in your video. I thought lifting your truck means you need to lower your light. Why were yours aimed so low from the factory?
I've been needing to do this for a year, I bought mine with this problem😂.. I rarely drive at night. But when I do it's a battle, 75% of people flash their high beams at me and I can't help but return the favor. You can honestly drive at night with the bright white running lights if you have to, they hit a good 20' and look pretty mean at night...
It's the same process but the location of the adjuster is different and needs a wrench or socket (I think 8mm) rather than a screwdriver. There are already videos available that show it
Thank you for this. It would be great if everyone who lifted their truck did this.
Agreed, it's so easy too!
I have the same headlights with the same problem, and no videos like this to be able to resolve the issue, thank you!
Glad we were able to help!

👍 Great job explaining the procedure. I am headed out to check my headlight alignment now.
Thanks! 🙏
I’m sorry but I absolutely lost it when you stood the screw driver up😂
😂
I was just lookig for a video like this, since I am trying to adjust my new LED for my 4Runner 2020
Perfect timing! Glad we can help

Yes, stock headlights tend to be lower on the driver side for that exact reason
Many people are switching to brighter lights without adjusting them
Thanks for the vid. Just installed the Morimotto's and this helps with the adjustment.
I need to get down to see you guys after the holidays.
We would love that!
Wow looks like I need to do some looking into my truck now. Thank you very much
Glad we could help!

How do you adjust the levelness? My passenger headlight is angled
Same here. Angles
Great video and I just did exactly what you did. I have the same headlight as well. Thanks
More people need to do the same. I still see so many people driving with their lights too high. Thanks for the feedback!
The Morimoto's have a sideways adjustment as well. Any insight to adjusting that?
There’s another wheel behind the headlights, lower and on the opposite side. More difficult to reach
Just got Morimotos for my Tacoma, is there a certain width range for them? I need to adjust the height of the beam pattern, but wondering about the width.
So where did you place the end of the screwdriver?
Should be high like that on passenger side to see in ditch for deer?
I would worry about blinding the car in front of you, maybe use ditch lights if you live in an area with a lot of wild life.
Wow great job thank you sir!
Thanks this video was super helpful!
T- can u do a vid on dual battery set up? Engine bay or truck bed and difference between it and a portable. Like jackery. Pros & cons.
We sure can! We just took out our secondary battery recently so it'll be a good time to explain why too.
Do you need to do anything with your grill camera/tss after a lift?
I can't reach the part of the headlight you are turning, do I have to remove the cover? My lights have been super low ever since I've installed them. Thanks
I recommend getting a longer screw driver.
@@Runnin4Tacos I just realized on the 4runner you don't have the plastic cover on that's why you can reach it easily.
The 2016 didn't have that yet. But its only plastic clips that can be popped in and out with just your fingers. @@joshualopez7099
@@Runnin4Tacos yeah I did that I figured it out. Do you notice the odd S shape the light beams make? I was wondering if that was normal.

They are doing it to the standard method of 2” down at 25’. This is what all references instruct to do.

Unfortunately, I do not know how the other brands of H11's perform. Check to see if you are aiming too high. Try aiming it downwards some more.

Anything over 39 inches I would go with 3 inches. So in your case I would adjust to 39.5 inches at 25 feet away
@@phillipkennedy8429 Thanks!
@@wilmafingerdoo2690 No problem at all. Hope it helps!
Do the morimoto headlights come properly adjusted for the Tacoma? Or do you have to adjust the lights if you install the morimoto headlights on a stock Tacoma? Or only if lifted?
Hey, I just installed some on my stock tacoma and they definitely needed to be adjusted out of the box.
When is the rear diff skid plate coming ?
We will have a video on that this coming week!
so you saying once I lift my truck I should adjust it higher like in your video. I thought lifting your truck means you need to lower your light. Why were yours aimed so low from the factory?
We have aftermarket headlights which needed adjusting. Our factory headlights did not need adjusting

Which headlight is brighter? Alpharex vs morimoto
Morimoto is slightly brighter
My lights come on by themselves, what did I connect wrong??
Do you need to angle them inwards? It annoys me that the drops in the middle of both headlights don’t line up.
No, you do not have to. Most headlights you only need to aim them up or down. However, our FJ Cruiser we had to adjust side to side
I am in my house and my tacoma is off and the lights come on by themselves what is going on,??
How many clicks did you move up and down.
We didn't go by clicks. Every headlight will be different
Where are the adjustment screws
Alpharex overpriced chinese garbage. Morimotos much better research and development. Longer warranty too
Too bad you didn't show factory equipment
Agreed
We can make a video if we get a vehicle in with factory headlights and LED bulbs
Umm I think they said factory was pretty much the same, and it probably is same thing on stock headlights. Shouldn’t be that hard.
