Generally a bad idea to fire IR missiles with a teammate at the optimal range in front of you lol. Either wait until you're below 1km of your teammate so it doesnt track them, or shoot off a radar missile instead.
(something like an R73 might still track a teammate at that range but a 9L definitely wouldnt lol)
@@DaisiesTC even radar missiles will go for teammates if the seeker on the radar missile finds your teammate a "bigger" target (as in, hes closer and therefore his radar signature is bigger). Doesnt matter what you have locked in that case

OH man I was waitting to see this thing in a video I have 2 more to go till I'm there. Just seen that name on the ban list one of the players that was in the last game.
Delta wing aircraft will always be superior in third person air rb because the instructor does not care about sustained 2 circle fights and will always pull back on the stick as much as the aircraft can. every fight in war thunder is pretty much a 1 circle when using mouse aim, and its too much of a disadvantage to use a HOTAS in air rb.
Would never happen but a suggestion is maybe a hold key bind you can press that will force instructor provide less input and make a perfect sustained turn at whatever speed your at (you will have to manipulate throttle to get the best speed) so you can 2 circle aircraft like in the viper.
Any chance you'll be covering the I-180s? I rarely see them in 3.0 nowadays, but when i pick up mine for a battle, people are completely clueless on how to counter this thing because fuselage shape (and, to a lesser degree, turn radius) is probably the only thing that it shares with I-16.

Apologies for asking, was wondering if you'd be able to do a newer video about the Swift f1 as It may help others (myself Included) learn a bit or two about how to use it effectively and will speed up the grind for the f7, I've just been being a bit cheeky and coming in for passes against enemies at high speeds and clearing off quickly and then having to use my mediocre manoeuvrability at times because of someone faster than me on my six which ends up getting me killed.

They still do to a degree. But no like pinging crazy before that patch.

A missile defense guide would be really helpful. There are so many missiles that do very different things. Would help a ton at top tiers

once you understand kinematics and notching you can defend against almost any missile. stay above mach 1.20 and you can kinematicly defeat even AIM-54s given a bit of distance
Most players are just playing the flankers wrong… If the majority of flankers went high and used their stand-off capability against the Gripen they would do fine. I’ve gotten 4-5 kill games that way when my team gets stomped 4min into the game. ET is also 2 free kills from that altitude usually.

Yes, but when there are also flankers players, it's not that easy, especially when you're the only one to go up and in the opposing team there are 2 or 3 of them.

how do you get the range indicator like in the start of the video? it would be really useful since most of the time in bvr i go into the cockpit to see if my r27er can hit, but it would be much more helpful if i could just look at my radar
It's a bug. You can switch the radar range to see your missile range when in lock.
Have you considered revisiting the F14A or the F5C with all the new planes in the game and the BR decompression?

Whenever I bvr an r27er anything I do, notching diving to the deck and charring furiously, doesn’t work. The only thing that can counter the r27 is me running backwards to the base at 10m

It has already been nerfed, still too good, but I hope it doesn’t change haha
For me there are no problems after unlocking the su 27 and the missiles I stopped playing top a bit
less flares, 200 rather than 700 so they can’t just turn on periodic and go focus a single guy
Could you revisit the A-4B Skyhawk I think it’s quite a bit better than it was in your last video im loving it and I’m able to get gun kills with it consistently even with the low ammo which says a lot im a tank player I’m a bad pilot so if I can do it anybody can

Gripen is crazy busted. So many times I've beaten SU27s, F15s, and F16s while I was completely stock just by doing 2 high yoyo loops and they all stall out and I go UFO mode

to get the radar picture he has go into options in the game menu and turn off use rectangle radar i just found it and answered my own question

Wish i was able doing such dumb falls on eu/ru, because once you get inside 20 km radius with your enemy, you get high chance catching er or even 7m, as people often use radars.
I met a guy in the game, around lvl 60 or something. Man had negative K/D on every single jet that i checked, but he had huge 200 kills lead in a Gripen. Gripen is balanced guys, trust me.

Man, so many people in the comments are clearly annoyed on Defyn's stance about the F15 needing to be 12.7.
The F15 is definetely better than aircraft like the MiG 29SMT, MiG 29G, and closer to a jet like Mirage 4000. This alone puts it at 12.7 in my opinion.
Regardless, lets just satisfy the F15 players and say the F15 is worse than all of the 12.7s. Now its just a case of comparing it to its peers at 12.3. Its pretty obvious that the gap between the F15 and other 12.3s, is much larger than the gap between the F15 and the 12.7s. ANOTHER reason for the F15 to go to 12.7. Even *if* it is the worst 12.7, it is still 12.7 worthy.
Yeah it’s only 12.3 cause of skill issue, as per usual with most US vehicles
I think what could’ve helped here would’ve been to push all the others to 13.0 and the F15 being 12.7. It’ll still help the f15 without letting it still get to seal club 11.3. But that would’ve required Gaijin to actually get some decompressing rather than continuing the bandaid slapping method
USA players are so dog ass its unreal, i avoid playing US just to get away from them (even tho i love my american planes...)
@@thatoneguy1741every other 12.7 jet has an HMD, has better missiles, those combined, or is the gripen with it's vastly better flight performance. Cry me a river. And if you don't think HMDs make a HUGE difference, you don't know how to use them lol.

Didn't they change RWRs to have IFF as well? So the more modern RWRs will not pick up friendly radar pings/tracks/locks/launches.

You need to use "W-A-S-D" to move your plane while looking around.
To make sure the pane doesn't come back to his original position you must make the round mouse indicator leave your line of sight, then press any control surface that isn't Q or E (again, W-A-S-D)
If your plane straight up doesn't move while you are looking around, there might be a configuration option getting on the way, in that case, i have no clue how to solve it.

Fully agree with you about the Gripen. I feel like you can see the bias when looking at the performance of the player with other planes.
I consistently have a 1.0 K/D with american jets and a 2.0 K/D with russian jets. And I'm not a very good player.
I gave up on playing top tier normally, now I relax by launching 6 AIM-54C and landing. It's the only way.

@@EvoSwatch Correct, I leave most of the time after one salvo, because one of the teams is already completely dead. Top tier sucks balls and this feels way better than dying randomly because you didn't see the 15th R-27ET carrier.
