    To be honest, I am an utter failure when it comes to "girly" things like hair and make-up. I've always wanted to know but I've never had anyone to teach me and it looks so incredibly difficult! However, I completely got it! It took me a few times to work it to where I wanted but I did it! Thanks so much for teaching me some great tips! I am going to a big work Gala, and this little lady is going to look like a lady for a change! So excited.

    Yes should work! Bang roll may be a little tricky. But should be fine. I don't spray first but you can if it helps.

    Self taught. Back when I modeled I had no one to do my hair so I had to teach myself!

    Yep! You may just need to use a thickening powder or dry shampoo to get the tease in there well!

    Don't ever worry about having a weird out of place hair, I am a professional and we always have some weird hair that pisses us off. I have learned a ton of tips from your videos as a licensed stylist so it is not always about the license but about the talent! Thanks for all your time and effort!

    I have just recently gotten the hang of this one and I get a ton of compliments when I do it. Thank you so much for showing me the trick to getting the combs to stay. I have been trying to put the combs in without the teasing step and they were just sliding right out but now they stay in all day (even with my son running his fingers through it).

    So, this is probably a bit late (not sure how often you check these), but I was wondering if you had any advice for long hair. And by long, I mean /long/. My hair is pretty much down to my butt, and I like it that way. I have side bangs on the face, but, other than that, my hair is pretty much one length, since layers on long hair simply make it look like my hair is thin and that I don't bother to get it trimmed. I love these hair styles, but it is very difficult to do this by myself since I can't really roll the ends that easily, from the direction that I want them (if that makes sense), because my arms just aren't long enough. I know that getting my hair cut shorter would be the easiest thing to do, but I really like my hair at this length. Also, I ramble a lot, so sorry for that. Anyway, if you know anything to help with this, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

    • @leanyland8933
      @leanyland8933 7 років тому +1

      Maybe add some layers. So that way you do the dumps on the side and curl you hair at the ends

  • @Thecherrydollface
    @Thecherrydollface  12 років тому

    If the clips aren't holding, curl smaller sections of hair. This will also help the heat penetrate as well. And if the curls are stubborn, sleep on them for extra hold.

    You should really find someone that has long, thick hair with no bangs for this tutorial, it's such a gorgeous hair do. I did something similar to it, but instead of a roll, I do a pompadour. But for holding the viceroys rolls, I used a million bobby pins just to hold it, so any advice for that particular situation?

    • @Thecherrydollface
      @Thecherrydollface  11 років тому +2

      The more you tease the roots, the easier it is to get the victory roll to stay with minimal bobby pins. It works just the same on long, one length hair. :)

  • @Thecherrydollface
    @Thecherrydollface  12 років тому

    Yep! And just be gentle with it, bounce the release a few times.

    Your channel has given me a new respect for pin up in general. People need to realize that pin up isn't just a hairstyle or a dress or an outfit or makeup or bettie page, it's lifestyle, and this channel really helps to understand and see that. Looking at how many subscriber you have made me think, "man, there's a lot of people who follow this channel; a lot of people wear these hairstyles, EVERYDAY. This is a lifestyle that people live and take seriously."

    Hey cherry,
    Thank you for this video. I love doing my hair in victory rolls now! My hair is short, well shoulder length. The thing I had trouble with was rolling my hair with my fingers, so I decided to use a whiteboard marker (or a fat maker of some sort) and use this to roll my hair with. I still get the same results!

Most girls gab and talk a bunch of nonsense about their lives and what not. You get right to the point. I really like that. You are also clear, simple and detailed. You also use basic everyday inexpensive stuff most girls brag about expensive hairspray etc. I will keep looking at your videos for hair styles and I have subscribed!
