Many years later, when your family looks back, then, to the culmination of ONE FULL YEAR of travelling adventure, each and everyone of you (i.e. including the 3 lovely adults that were little ones all those years back in 2024) will be teary-eyed reminiscing how you all, as a family went through both beautiful and challenging times (but never with any sorrow).

The high temperature in beijing is a big challenge for climbing the Great Wall

Wonderful that your family has walked on the Great Wall and are now "plucky heroes" as the Chinese saying goes. "You are not plucky heroes until you have reached the Great Wall".
Wow! Hutchison Family 'parted ways' with some of their possessions and has been travelling for 12 months!! I can see the couples getting emotional as the holidays are coming to a end.
While there might be detractors around, it is their prerogative to live life the ways they want. I have absolute respect for their courage and love for their family. Lost of income coud be earned, property and car could be bought, missed school terms could be made up for... The memories of 12 months travelling together as a family, especially at the girls' growing stage, are stuffs that money can't buy. The family bonding, memories, and the great videos and photos they take are priceless compared to the 'opportunity costs'!

As a Chinese, I had exactly the same feeling and emotion as you guys visiting the Great Wall when I set foot on the Prime Meridian and saw the Cuttysark in London. It is a very emotional moment when you see the places and things in the textbook appear right in front of your eyes!

Historically, China has been an agrarian society, where farming requires solving numerous problems to harness nature, rather than conquering people. These problem-solving skills have laid the foundation for industrialization. As a result, China has evolved into a less aggressive, yet industrially advanced nation.

The Great Wall of China is the longest man-made structure in the world; it has withstood the change of government. A symbol of unity of the Chinese people regardless of the type of government in China.
The Great Wall of China symbolises the Chinese mentality for peace. The Chinese would build a long tall wall to defend themselves from invasions by peoples outside of China, but did not think much of invading other people's land outside of their own country.

The bad boy really good it was not easy for the kids climbing up the wall
Memories all came flooded back, I thought I’d lost my daughter there where you were, we got to the top in the cable car, and I stood and admired the stunning views while my 9yr old daughter carried on walking up the stairs, I thought for a moment there I lost her or someone had kidnapped her. I was in an absolute panic!! Then I noticed her walking up those steep steps!
What an EPIC place to mark your terminus point after 12 months of traveling as a family - Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines & China - how incredible is that 🫡✅👍
Trust me the three young ladies will look back on their adult and geriatric years on 2024 with incredibly fond and precious memories - what cool parents they have ✅🫡👍👏👏
We hope in the future they become great Ambassadors the world over for spreading special tales & personnel stories of all these great countries they visited in their younger years 2024!
