Marvellous! Thanks very much for sharing this adventure, I have a suggestion for the Cù Bòcan whisky - try it as an Old Fashioned, again it’s quite a strong drink but I think it will work well! Thanks 😊
Sorry Freddie, I'm very disappointed in you, I thought you were a man of good taste. What you did to that whisky is absolute Sacrilege. You ruined it! You might as well have put mouthwash in it. There are only two things you ever put with a good whisky. Either Water or More Whisky, and Cu Bocan is a bloody good whisky. Water releases the aroma and more whisky prolongs the enjoyment. Don't even put Ice in it.
If you want to use whisky in a mixed drink use a cheap blended 40% ABV whisky. Don't waste money spoiling the taste of the good stuff.
Mark out of 10 for whisky apreciation... ZERO.
Im loving these videos , I come to this channel as a motorbike fan but these travel vlogs I am totally enjoying. Your travel, romantic trips and drinks with Monica. It’s lovely to see someone enjoying life 🎉
This means a lot- we’re both delighted you’re enjoying the channel. Thank you Dan🙂
One and you're on the dance floor! Love it😂
You guys just keep producing brilliant work, thank you so much. You rock.
Thank you Kim!🙂
I loved driving in Palermo, it was so crackers that it actually just works! The road up past the Bocca Di Falco aerodrome was super interesting and all the memorials to the Mafia troubles. Great city, friendly people, good food and a good touch of italian vehicular lunacy!
I completely agree- after initially thinking the roads are just insanity (which they also are😆), after a few days, you do get used to it and it does makes sense. Thanks for this tip- I may try this ride today!
As you’re in Sicily, try a ‘Godfather’… equal measure of single malt whisky and Disaronno, with ice. Dangerously good…
Hahahahaaa..'' One and on the dance floor....'' Hysterical. You were floating on your walk to the pizzeria and pretty brave actually assuming the zebra crossing was going to be respected.
Just Brilliant Freddie and Monika, I’ve had a lovely little holiday.
Awesome video and awesome content can’t wait for the next video Thank’s Freddie and Monika
Love it! I had large virgin North American oak trees in my back yard growing up. Man lots of leaves to rake off the lawn😄.
And there I was thinking that doing my Mod 2 in Exeter was bad.
Impressive scene of straight line walking after the experimental cocktail!
Although I did gain a slightly strange swagger!😆
Freddy & Monika,
We love your channel. It's such a polished combination of bike and car detail, mixed with your travel diary. Really enjoy the background soundtracks too. Not forgetting all the coffees and delicious looking food!
We live in Javea on the Costa Blanca in Spain, just over an hour south of Valencia.
You said you'll be travelling to Spain next. Maybe you're thinking of the bigger cities. But, if you fancy some beautiful coastal scenery and great rides, please come and stay in our Airbnb studio apartment. It will be on us. Our current guests check out on 1st November and we normally close for the season at that point. However, we'd love to host you both here, if it's convenient for you.
The apartment is below our villa, with a swimming pool (brrrrrr) and a view of the national park.
Adam picked up a 1965 Triumph Bonneville yesterday. Something he's been dreaming of for a while. He will still use his Royal Enfield Classic 500 (Battle Green) as his daily rider and keep the Bonneville for special occasions....... and drooling over!!!
Looking forward to the next episode. And watch out for that Palermo traffic!!!
Catherine & Adam
That is incredibly kind of you Catherine, thank you for this very kind offer🙂
I will save your details and will stay in touch if we have a spare couple of days.
Adam’s pairing sounds like my dream garage! I think I’d do just as much looking at the Triumph as riding it- pure art😍 And what a fantastic place to live and enjoy the bikes👌🏻
Thank you both!🙂
The only whisky cocktail Freddie is to add a splash of water 🏴😀👍. Great videos.
A Negroni with rye is another great drink, called a Boulevardier btw. Good choice, Freddie!
I'm a beer drinker myself, but I do bloody love an 'Old Fashioned' cocktail. The only drink that tempts me away from beer
We have alot of underground parking garages in the US that you would just pass by without knowing they were there..traffic looks absolutely nuts!!..LOL...good timing with the horns..LOL..and I totally get "one and on the dance floor"..LOL...love your video's!!..thanks again for sharing!
I would love to see an F150 trying to navigate the Italian streets, Kevin!😆
Monika did have to calm me down🕺🥃
@@FreddieDobbs LOL...I have a RAM1500 and we would reshape the streets..LOL...ya...there is no way...
Brilliant! Thank you!
Gonna try that drink.
Those pizzas are driving me crazy. Another lovely video.
Charming video. A little bit of envy to be honest. But healthy envy.
That traffic is insane!😅👍✌
Very nice ,thank you
Palermo...and that style of riding is behind me, too much stress for me these days...the cocktail would be an essential part of the early evening methinks!
Heaven on earth ur lives
Really entertaining, thanks Freddie and Monika; loving this series in Sicily. My wife is half Sicilian (from Agrigento), so makes it even more interesting for us.
Hey Freddie, love the videos, very classy! Will be doing these kinds of trips soon!
London riding skills coming in handy there Freddie...
Good decision to stash the Bonnie in that secure underground car park. Very reasonable ferry price, cutting so much of Italy out. I bet it's noisy.
Wonderful view from the balcony of your apartment! Have you tried a properly made Sazerac? Fantastic cocktail with its feet in New Orleans and its heart in France. Rye whiskey, Peychaud’s bitters, sugar, absinthe. I use the absinthe as a wash for the inside of the glass - the aroma sets this cocktail apart. Stir in then remove ice just to cool it down. Add a lemon twist, maybe a little extra squeeze to get those oils floating on the surface of the drink and sticking to the side of the glass, and it’s on! Thanks for keeping the videos coming, Freddie. We think you’re an amazing presenter!
Fantastic stuff once again, Freddie and Monika! Btw, the cocktail matches your interior :)
Thanks, I thought so too🥃🙂
Makes London traffic look like a carefully orchestrated game of chess. Nerves of steel !
And it's not luck you are enjoying life. Someone once said the harder you work, the luckier you get.
Good watch.
Happy, safe travels 👍
It is non stop 100% concentration trying to navigate Palermo traffic😳 Thank you🙂🙌🏻🙌🏻
That's funny, I was just thinking that it looked like London in rush hour but with better produce and more Apes.
hello, good morning, Freddie, if you come to Spain, it's getting complicated because of the gasoline strike in France, ok 👍👌
No problems here in Tenerife?
Ok 👌👍
Thank you Chema, appreciate the heads up sir🙂🤜🏼🤛🏼
Hello Freddie give this cocktail a try , it me got me hooked ( Irish Nectar- Jameson Orange Whiskey,Angostura Bitters & Lemonade. Another great vlog.
Globe cocktail bar now we are talking!
03:52 perfect timing by Freddie!
Well Freddie because of your cocktail I'm now drinking whisky and aperol 😄
Another brilliant video Monika and Freddie, I think that drink went down a little to quick beforehand, looking a little glazed and happy at the end of dinner, keep up the good work
My type of road trip, be safe folks
Thanks Eric🙂
Well all I can say about this video is “one and your on the dance floor” you guys must be blending in good over there cause they didn’t slice you pizza. When I was in Italy, It took me a minute to figure out they don’t do that, unless they think your a tourist. After watching the traffic I learned what my new nightmare would be. Riding my 1948 Harley flathead foot clutching and tank shifting thru town. I would need a stiff drink too. As it gets cold here in the USA, all I can do is watch you guys and be jealous till spring.
They see me a mile off I think- every time I try and speak Italian, I get a reply in English!😆
You’re bang on Steve, your old Harley (WHAT a bike!!) would be hell in Palermo
Hi Freddie: I bought a bottle of Cu Bocan using your link - hopefully you'll get some benefit in due course ... It's decent Whiskey :). Keep up the good work - really enjoy your channel.
I believe that cocktail is called a boulevardier
Freddie, what a wonderful content you make. Anything you need in Toledo, Spain, you know. Great
I noticed in your vlog that the Sicilian cyclists are the same as here in the U.K. having a total disregard for red lights.
Eating pitza in Rome is some of the best food experiences I've ever had along with Sorrento and amazingly Betws-y-Coed in Wales.
Absolutely right and we’ll spotted Lee. The only difference here in Italy- the cyclists don’t judge cars for acting in the same way (there’s no feeling of moral superiority and double standards like in the UK)
Excellent series so far Freddie and Monika....
Gotta love the double parking, zebra crossings of courage & the organised chaos. Watch out you get so used to riding like that in Italy so much so quickly it takes a little moment to remember back home, you just don’t do it!
I’m glad you noticed the zebra crossings; they are used as parking spaces here!😆 Monika has commented on how aggressive my riding and driving has become, but it really is the only way here
@@FreddieDobbs you are absolutely correct! If you don’t do it, you’ll get swamped & shoved off the road. Monika needs to close her eyes & trust you 😉
Found the same when I took the T3 to Italy, but riding in any English city to be fair needs to be reasonable aggressive
L ovarno to Palermo €220 sounds interesting as i have to travel to sicila from Florence…ps did I just see my Alfa Romeo 156 in silver I will just check it’s still out side.. I have a20 year old Alfa 156 and it’s stil a beautiful shape bravo grazie grazie Mille ciao
Brilliant yet again, giving us so many ideas to try in the future. Thank you both.
Thanks Neil!
Inspiring me to book another Italy trip
Hi , with every ride around these places , you really capture the hectic atmosphere . Your under ground parking reminds me of Len street in London , where they had petrol pumps and sold Lotus cars , Pimlico all so has a lot of under ground car car parks , with cars covered up , with flat tyres covered in dust and lots of really exotic ones . Enjoy your selves out there and the cocktails , a glimps of shear mad ness , but as you say it works . Thanks for the video and magic as usual .TAKE CARE .
I would love a glimpse into some of London’s old lock ups- it is a fascinating thing to see.
Thanks and have a fantastic week!🙂
A "Negroni" based on Whiskey is a Boulevardier. Cheers!
Loved seeing Palermo as that is where my family migrated from to the US. Grazie per questo bel video! Gratzie!
Piacere Nate!🙂 I’ve heard from so many Americans with Sicilian and Neapolitan family history- there must have been gigantic amounts of emigration from these parts over to the US🇮🇹🇺🇸
@@FreddieDobbs both my grandparents on my mother's side 100% Sicilian... they were an "arranged" marriage. Shortly after they married, they moved to the US to escape fascism in the early 20's... they fled Italy and entered the US through NY (Ellis Island) moved to Michigan and promptly had 11 children. Keep the great videos coming, Freddie! I love your work.
It seems that the life there in Palermo is relaxed... but maybe only for tourists... Fine and beautiful video, great job, directed by Monika👍
You should try local cooking, not just pizza, etc. It's usually fantastic in Italy. And ditto for the coffee, all caffes sell better coffee than Starbucks.
I have been around Europe .. in Italy... there is something very exciting , you always feels like you are in eighties or seventies
The cars the buildings the bikes the way old people dressed...
Fascinating 🌟👍🏻
This is so true; Italy moves at its own speed
Freddie have you guys been to Mondello beach ? (10 min ride). Also, you are in the new part of town, have you visited the historical centre with all the monuments and traditional street food? Mostly pedestrian, of course...
Don't miss a ride towards the Trapani side, Erice is a lovely medieval town on the top of a hill with great views and lovely food...
Enjoy your time there and forget about dieting when in Sicily!!!
We went to Mondello beach last week- it is one of the most stunning beaches I’ve ever seen! We head into Palermo old town every day and love exploring the back streets🙂
Great vlog..the music as always was fab! After that cocktail Freddie was that a swagger or a stagger along the street!
I think it was an awkward mix of the two😆🏃♂️
Try an Old Fashioned - Pour some sugar syrup or my preference of maple syrup over ice, follow up with whiskey then a a few drops of bitters and mix. Think you’ll enjoy it.
I love the sound of this- I will try. Thanks Brett🙂
I love watching your Sicilian vids, but that's as close to Palermo as I want to get! I don't think I'd have the confidence to tackle that traffic again. (Went there a few years ago.) Very happy to tackle a couple of cocktails and a pizza whilst watching the next episode, though.
I don’t blame you Steve- genuinely I’m shattered after walking/riding or driving around Palermo!
When I was at school I had a friend's called Guido and Carlo and we always rode our bikes to their dad's Italian scooter shop he sold and fixed Vespas lambrettas that's when I fell in love motor bikes and scooters.
I love little stories like this- these experiences in our youth can shape our adulthood so much🙂
The Mole - Netflix tip
Ahhh I was wondering if I should try this!
Great episodes, keep them coming. So cool and interesting sharing your holiday with you. 👍
Thank you Richard🙌🏻
Got to love Italy (Sicily). A good dose of "cool" and style but still real and unpretentious. You and Monica fit right in, obviously 😉 Great muzic by the way 👌
The Watcher! Are you joking?! I've been GLUED to the screen for the last three days! 🤣 It's a bummer you're not passing by Lecce this time, maybe the next! Love Palermo 💖
We did a marathon The Watcher session- literally could not stop watching it!
Really enjoying watching this trip unfold, thank you. And great excuse for a trip to the Tomatin distillery, which is only 30 mins away from me, to pick up a bottle or Cu Bocan, Cheers !,
What a fantastic part of the world to live in, sending my best, Ian👋🏴
Just started that series the watcher and I think it's gonna be good , Life in Sicily I am think for me too busy and congested but your going where my heart is guys España looking forward to it have fun guys👍 .One of those drinks and I would be under the table me thinks 🤪
You’ll LOVE The Watcher! You really do need to get well away from the cities to find some space- the cities really are very busy. Spain awaits, along with the MotoGP🙂
Fantastic looking forward to that ! 👌👍
Excellent video again. Driving there seems like an attack on the senses lol. Stay safe 👍
Whats funny as a Maltese is that we were appalled at Sicilian driving in the 80s and 90s. Yet nowadays, the tables have turned and the traffic in Palermo looks whilst crazy, looks organised and safe compared to what we face everyday here in Malta.
Worst part is when a sicilian comes to malta and forgets we drive on the left like the uk. So they just go down head on into traffic. Us maltese may be guilty of the same in sicily!
As far as I remember Negroni is made of 4 parts of gin, 2 parts of vermouth and 1 part of Negroni....if you put equal parts even if it's whisky you're gonna have serious problems to ride the Bonnie straight! :D
I have been thinking of getting a bagger (a new Indian Motorcycle Springfield to be specific) for my upcoming motorcycle adventures, but I've actually decided to go with a new Triumph Tiger 900 GT Low. I'm looking forward to joining the Triumph fam, and can't wait to see more Freddie moto-camping vids. You're a better man than me navigating all of that crazy traffic. I don't think I could ride through even a small town for a few years after going through that crazy mess.
Oh wow, you have just mentioned my new dream bike; the Indian Springfield Dark Horse- it looks phenomenal!🤩
I’ve heard nothing but good things about this Tiger- this’ll be an extremely good bike.
Thanks Jimmy- happy bike shopping!🙂
Geez, the traffic is mad. But a lovely vlog. @Freddie Dobbs.
You look like you are having a great time. Looking forward to the next one.
Go to Girona in Spain. It is amazing. Small and with a nice vibe and amazing restaurants. There is plenty of amazing sights and roads. Also climbs like nice and twisty Els Angels and steep Rocacorba. Barcelona is just 90km away.
Thanks for this- we’ll be heading around this area next, so we’ll head on over!
OMG...The Watcher...I won't say it but....can't help myself....viral...Hey guys..cool vid. Hey..that traffic..just remember SE Asia..Geez.. that ain't nuthin...mind you, there is usually weird logic...Ride and drive safe you guys. Love from NZ as always.
More outstanding content as usual!!! Keep it up Freddie and Monika!!!
Great vid :) The wife and I also LOVED “The Watcher” Sooooo good!
Thanks! The ending of The Watcher was eye opening😳
@@FreddieDobbs no doubt did not see that coming. Left me feeling like seriously… gonna leave it like that???Crazy it was based on a true story too.
I rode through Istanbul many years ago on a Kawasaki 550. Very similar to your Italian experience. It is ultra aggressive but it works once you get the hang of it. The larger vehicle you have, the greater your priority. That pizza looks so good I am going to have to cook one for breakfast! Bel Cabo.
I would love to experience Istanbul!
Food and drink as always amazing in Italy! Great video!
Ive been myself.was bout 42 degrees lovely but expensive place.. enjoy
That is pretty close to unbearable🥵 Thanks!🙂
Freddie definitely a bit more pleased with life after downing that Negroni lol
I did pick up a swagger almost immediately after🥃
Great video as normal Freddie enjoy your trips
Thanks Dave!
Great vid . thank you both 🙂
Thank you!🙂
You're inspiring yet another future trip for us, Freddie. Looks brilliant. We have 2 episodes of the Watcher left!! Very addictive.
The Watcher end up being quite disappointing!
Agreed.
Delighted to hear it Henry🙂
I was hoping for a bombshell The Watcher ending!
Great video..... That traffic 😱. I'm watching 'The Watcher' too, gripping series! 😉
It’s brilliant isn’t it- just finished the series. I won’t give it away, but the ending’s quite eye opening
@@FreddieDobbs I'm on episode 5.... Binge watch today then 😂
Lovely stuff 👍
You could run the Bonneville on that cocktail!
Blimey I’m coming round your place, your measures are very generous 😂
There’s room for eight quite comfortably!
You're on holiday, why are you watching the telly? So many bars to explore in Palermo!
It doesn’t matter what time we get back, the tv always goes on before bed📺
Living Large😎
Riding around Palermo didn't look any different to riding around London in the early 80's as a despatch rider with one exception, it wasn't raining in Palermo 😄
I love this- I can picture it. And on a Suzuki RF600 (or similar)?🙂🤘🏼🌆
@@FreddieDobbs CB250RS
Another ex London DR myself, GT 550,CX 500,CB250Rs etc , we wore them all out !
Fantastic vlog as always.
In regards to cocktails, you should try a 'Red Hook' 👌
Good Morning Freddie & Monika
Good morning Julian👋
Just finished viewing „The Watcher“. Excellent.
Will probably view again in English though because nearly always some things get missed in the translation.
Spain? If you're coming near Portugal, drop us a line, as the crew would love to take you and Monica out around the hidden routes of the Algarve mountains 🏍...
Thank you Jed, I’ll remember this🙂
Good morning again Freddie and Monika !
Good morning Mike!
Can't wait to see your out of town rides, there's certainly a lot packed into such a small island. I love my whiskey, but I can't even mix it with ice 🥃
Wise words on the whisky but, if you love it, make sure the one you drink does not have a E in the spelling. Good Scotch is spelled WHISKY... no E. I've been enjoying it for over 50 years and I've not yet found one worth drinking if it comes with a letter E.
@@philyew3617 It's because I'm going through an Irish phase at the moment 😉I'm sure I'll be back soon
@@biker_dale 👍
Pizza in Italy is unmatched! 🍕😍
Great video! With the exception of petrol, it seems like Europe is now significantly more affordable to travel in than here in the U.S. 7 Euros for a pizza. . . Here a personal size pizza would easily be double that and not be nearly as good. Back in the 1990s I remember everything in Europe seemed more expensive than here but the tables have turned.
Fascinating! I’ve been following this evolution because the days of Europeans picking up bargain Mustangs and Harleys over in the US seems to be over too- things have totally changed
That balcony, why? It's funny, you have been out on so many balconies and I have not had an issue. Any ways. Tried Scotch 🥃 once with a 1/4 inch of dust on the box at a friend that had it forever. Opened the bottle and poured me sipping glass of it and it was ........ not for me let's say. He had to give it to his dad as he didn't like it. I will stick with vodka and crown royal whiskey. I still have not tried gin, but I have a bottle to attempt a taste, we will see. Again, keep up the great work.
I do see where you’re coming from- vodka is the spirit I reeeeeally struggle with. If I try and drink it neat, there is an uncontrollable retching!😆
Excellent video both in quality and content- l felt like it was about to evolve into a gangster film from the sixties what with underground lock ups and Maseratis 😂👍
I was aiming for that vibe!😆
Love from kashi🇮🇳🙌🏼
Hi, liking the videos. I’ve noticed on a few of your videos that your bike headlamp is angled quite high upwards, intentionally?. Like the honest reviews of the places you visit.
Thanks Donna, I will re-adjust the headlamp because you’re absolutely right, it is too high🙂
Fantastic video Freddie. After just coming back from Italy, it’s been great seeing your videos.
I’ve definitely fallen in love with old Vespas and need to find myself a 60s Vespa to join my collection of motorcycles.
Fantastic choice of music at the end!
Really glad you enjoyed the video, Aumkar🙂 I’ve been doing just this; Vespa (and old Fiat Panda) eBay-ing😆
