❤❤❤ love Recife! Olinda is must to go too! 🎉 You definitely have to check the coco de roda and Maracatu parties both are the most vibe you can get from Afro-Brazilian culture in Recife/ Olinda. Also check out Xambá terreiro, it's a unique African Brazilian "branched" directly from Xambá back to Africa. They have a museum with really informative tours. I can put you in contact with someone. If you guys would like it. ❤❤ enjoy guys! I live in the US. I miss all there, Salvador, Recife, Olinda e João Pessoa as well. Thanks for this video. I was in Recife about 40 yrs ago as an foreign exchange student. Haven’t been back so it was great seeing some of this city again. Love this ❤
Being in Salvador for as long as you were, I'm sure Recife is a bit of a culture shock. Porto de Galinhas and Olinda are great day trips, and I'd say Olinda is a must given it's great historic preservation and beauty. Porto de Galinhas has beautiful beaches with crystal clear water and not far away.

Lived here my whole life and still didn't got to experience all of it's atractions, waypoints and vistas. The whole state of Pernambuco is filled with cultural and historical significance to the country: music, dance, flavors, arts and most of all, our people! You guys have to visit the Historic Centre of Olinda on a sunday evening! It's definetely a must-go. And you also should go to the northwest zone of the city of Recife and visit places like Parque da Jaqueira (the main park around here - it has a lot of chill vibes and green area to relax and spend the time during the afternoon, people usually go there on the weekends to have picnics.. it's such a cool place, you will not regret it). Hope you enjoy your time here! Waiting for the next vids :)

Recife, capital of the state of Pernambuco, manages to combine culture, gastronomy, history and nature in a single trip. If you are looking for itineraries in Recife, this post is ideal for you. The city is a great destination option in Northeast Brazil for those who enjoy entertainment. Another positive point for the city is its privileged geographical position, being close to several other destinations, it can be your gateway to this captivating region that is the Brazilian Northeast.
I’m so glad you guys posted this video. I’ve been looking for jobs in my field that’s hiring in Brazil, and Recife was the only city that the organization was in, and I wanted to see a video of Black American’s perspective. Thanks

@@williamthierry5976 so while it may not be interesting to you it is interesting to people who identify as black in Brazil and to a lot of people outside of Brazil because we see the racism.... we see the police harassments, we see the concentration of black poor people, we see the misleading of political figures. I'm heading to Salvador in Feb next year and, as a pale Irish person, this talk of the sun hurting is making me very nervous 😅😅 Loved the video!! Subscribed ✅
Absolutely mandatory: Malakoff Tower, ancient Rua do Bom Jesus, all ancient dowton, boat trip AT NIGHT (it is Wonderful) Try to see if there is still a Restaurant called Casa de Banhos. Don't miss Mercado Sao Jose
A few suggestions of must-go restaurants that are out of the main touristic routes (if you still have time for that). They are a little pricey, but definitely worth the visit to try amazing dishes. Some of them are among the best restaurants in the country: - Retetéu - Arvo - Arvo - Cajá - São Pedro - Terraço Capibaribe
This is so cool, congratulations on the video. I find it very interesting that you really explore the cities you are in, experiencing a little bit of what we live here in Brazil. Yes, the sun can be a very influential factor in our day-to-day decisions, especially in the states north of Rio de Janeiro, between 11 am and 3 pm, hahaha! I hope you make more videos in Recife. I haven't been there yet, so it would be really cool to get to know it a bit more through your perspective.
Thanks, yes we want to know as much as we can about the day to day lives of the people in the cities we travel through...and cool we have a couple of more coming!
I think you have to go to São Luís. This one will be a cultural shock. The city vibe and history is different from the another northearstern capitals. The city is also in amazonian biome.
I feel sorry you didn't have the opportunity to know another traditional music and dancing called MARACATU at Eufrasio Barbosa market. It has a strong African influence. When you listen to drums, it's impossible not to shake your body.
@@TheYarbros , I don't know how long are you stay in Brazil, but certainly you must come back here to visit and know other aspect of Brazilian culture. Northern Brazil is very intersting because of Indigenous influence.....
We suggest visits to the following places: Recife City Museum at Fort São Tiago das Cinco Pontas; Church of São Pedro dos Clérigos and Patio de São Pedro; São Jorge Market; Mauritius Bridge of Nassau; Golden Chapel; It is Culture house.
You guys should definitely check out Olinda and Porto de galinhas (I would rent a car for this one, 1-2 hours drive, US DL and passport is all you need). Near where you guys are there is the “feirinha da boa viagem” go check that, bunch of local food and craftwork. Also be careful with your phone and camera in Boa Viagem. Idk if you guys are going back to São Paulo but you should def check some decent all you can eat sushi around there.
You should definitely try also visiting some smaller towns, specially in the northeast region. Not far from Recife you can go to Porto de Galinhas, Carneiros and Maragogi (this last one is in Alagoas, another state, but it is a 2 or 3 hour drive from Recife). You can bath there and forget about the sharks! Also, they are all among the most beautiful beaches you're bound to see. Of course, if you have the opportunity, try visiting Fernando de Noronha Island.

A few suggestions of must-go restaurants that are out of the main touristic routes (if you still have time for that). They are a little pricey, but definitely worth the visit to try amazing dishes. Some of them are among the best restaurants in the country:
- Retetéu
- Arvo
- Arvo
- Cajá
- São Pedro
- Terraço Capibaribe
Thanks for the recommendations! Heard a lot about ARVO. We were heading to ARVO one evening but it closed early.
you guys need to go to Porto De Glinhas, I tink is the best place of Pernambuco
We will see if we can.
Please elogios meu país e lindo.bem vindo ao Brasil..
Would love to buy probably not on this trip...not enough time on the visa.
You guys must visit OLINDA, the first capital of Pernambuco State.
We did and lived it! Here's the link ua-cam.com/video/Gx21ygFtuiw/v-deo.html
@@TheYarbros , I already watched the video. I'm glad to know you enjoyed the historical city.
I feel sorry you didn't have the opportunity to know another traditional music and dancing called MARACATU at Eufrasio Barbosa market. It has a strong African influence. When you listen to drums, it's impossible not to shake your body.
@@siquara100 Yes, we were sad we couldn't experience it too. We really wanted to.
@@TheYarbros , I don't know how long are you stay in Brazil, but certainly you must come back here to visit and know other aspect of Brazilian culture. Northern Brazil is very intersting because of Indigenous influence.....
We suggest visits to the following places:
Recife City Museum at Fort São Tiago das Cinco Pontas;
Church of São Pedro dos Clérigos and Patio de São Pedro;
São Jorge Market;
Mauritius Bridge of Nassau;
Golden Chapel; It is
Culture house.
Thanks!
Okay Thanks!
I think that last train does not seem to be a subway, if there is someone from Recife to clear my doubts.
Maybe not there's a Subway and a light rail. But the station was marked as a Subway on the map 🤷🏾♂️
Thank you for sharing!
3bed...3 bath whoa😮
It was very comfortable 😊
There is also a small museum called Paço do Frevo - a music style unique to Pernambuco.
Yes, looking forward to see it.
Gostei do video,muito bom !
That makes us happy! Thanks for watching!
Why did you skip Maceió? A beautiful city, great food, amazing people e the most beautiful beaches! The Brazilian caribbean! You must come!!
We only have a small amount of time so we can't go everywhere in our 1st trip here ☹️ Maybe next time.
Sad....
Recife, my country 😄🥰
Cool place with some cool people!
This guy is playing flute in the train is my friend Junior 🥰😄 own how I miss Recife 🥲💚✨ We call our city as Hellcife 😂 because is too hot ☀️
Wow, I like that name! 😅😅
And i strongly recommend you the restaurante Atar Cozinha Ancestral in Recife, its gonna be an amanzig expierience for you ;)
