Are you guys going to be around for São João festival (festa junina) it’s right around the corner and northeast Brazil is the place to be at for it. Festa Junina is a harvest festival and second party in Brazil losing only to carnaval that you guys already covered. Good showing guys!
@@RandomNPC001 Hopefully we'll be here. We have some business to handle in another country soon.
@@ged4580 sim esta manha.
Love this i'm from Olinda and my mom is from Bahia, love Your Vision of Brasil
Northeast Brazil is a tropical paradise indeed!! Welcome to Brazil!!
It’s beautiful!
Unfortunately there are no direct flights to the Brazilian northeast. Great beaches and food, and a lot cheaper than the Caribbean resorts.
the best channel ! OLINDA the best city !
Obrigado!
Isso sim representa o verdadeiro Brasil! e não o carnaval que é uma cultura internacional. Abraços desde Recife ✌🏼
Congratulations on choosing to explore the mesmerising wonders of Northeast Brazil! It's truly a remarkable destination for any person of colour seeking tranquilly and harmony in this beautiful country. While I acknowledge that every region in Brazil has its own unique charm, the Northeast stands out for its vibrant culture and rich heritage, boasting the highest population of black individuals in the entire nation. So, for those yearning for an authentic experience and a deeper connection to Brazil's Afro-Brazilian roots, the Northeast is an ideal place to be. Rest assured, both the South and Northeast have their own distinctive allure, but the Northeast's cultural diversity and strong Afro-Brazilian presence make it an absolute must-visit.
During my time in Porto Alegre, located in the southern region of Brazil, I had a challenging time locating African products such as makasera (cassava) and yam, which are plentiful in Pernambuco. As a Fulani person originating from West Africa, my cultural palate has a deep appreciation for couscous, and I must say that Pernambuco offers the most extraordinary cuscuz de milho (corn couscous) in the world. The remarkable abundance and quality of these traditional ingredients and dishes in Pernambuco truly make it a culinary paradise for individuals like myself who have a profound fondness for African flavours and traditions. I miss my bairro, Engenho do Meio, in Recife
Yes, we're having a wonderful time exploring Brasil!
Pessoas de cor? 🤔
Hi! I’m a Fulani from Guinea and I’m currently staying in Recife for the summer. Really lucky that I got the opportunity to come here to the northeast. I’ve been loving the food here as well, very similar to what I eat at home
Love my nordeste 🌵🌵🌵🌵🌵🌵🌵
We love the culture and the people ❤️
Olinda and Recife were the main entrance of colonizers and african people in northeast of Brazil during the beginning of colonization. If a person is a black or portuguese descendant in northeast of Brazil, there is a high probability their ancestors had once been in Pernambuco's coastal area.
First of all,April's new hairstyle is gorgeous.
Olinda is a wonderful city.Frevo is a contagious rhythm.
I hope next time you go to a church that allows you to ring the bell hahaha
Lol @the bell. It was tempting, too many ppl around 😆. Thanks for the compliment and thanks for watching!
I love how they seem truly intrested in everything in every experience, they seem to really enjoy and capture every frame of memory they're creating. It is genuine inspirng for us, we gotta start seeing magic in everything, and capturing what might be a "once in a lifetime experience"
We can never get a moment back so make them all count.
My city here Olinda ♥️
Lovely city!
I love that you guys put the Pernambuco flag in the video! We love our flag 🥰 Thanks for visiting! Come back anytime.
Love the colors and the architecture and of course the history and culture( and libraries- wow!)
We definitely enjoyed exploring that city!
Amo o meu Pernambuco.❤️👋🙌🎉
We understand!
Congratulations to the channel, what a wonderful city Olinda is, a rich history with a very warrior and liberating people !!
Thank you!
Come to São Luís - MA in June so you can see our São João. We have bumba-meu-boi, tambor de crioula, cacuriá; a lot of typical food; also historical buildings; and from here you can go to Lençóis Maranhenses the biggest oasis on earth, same size of São Paulo city. If you have the opportunity you can also go by airplane for Imperatriz - MA and from there rent a car to visit the Chapada das Mesas (you can also rent a car and go from here in são Luís to there, but it's a big and hard road trip, and probably no one will be able to talk to you in english while you on the road
We're also called Jamaica Brasileira (Brazilian Jamaica) cuz we love reggae and we dance reggae together with a partner. We also considered a terra do tambor or terra da macumba (the land of macumba) cuz we have lots of terreiros of african matrix religions. If you had the opportunity to watch The Woman King starring Viola Davis you could see in the story they mention that the Queen Agontimé mother of the King Guezo was captured and sold into slavery and they trying to find her here in Brazil. It turns out that Queen Agontimé was brought to São Luís - MA and here she continued to practice there religion and founded the Casa das Minas where only black women were religious leaders cuz there culture 'gege nagô' were matriarchal
Okay! Thank you for sharing!
Hy guys.
Another city you must visit in the Northeast is São Luiz, the capital of Maranhão State.
I ensure you will love it so much.
Thanks for the tip!
As you said, during the Dutch period there was religious freedom. Many Jews came from Europe to Pernambuco, mainly the Portuguese and Spanish persecuted by the Inquisition. But when the Portuguese regained power, the Jews had to flee, and a large group fled to "New Amsterdam", now New York. When you go to Fifth Avenue, look at the sign at the entrance to the synagogue, it's written in Portuguese.
Cool info!
if I were you I'll get a car and go to Natal and then go to João Pessoa and get more two states of Brazil covered. thanks for coming I wish u all the best🎉🎉🎉
I’d love to do a roadtrip!
I love the video and especially the braids❤❤❤
Thanks! It's been so long, forgot how much I love freedom lol
My hometown. Now I live in another state in the northeast but Olinda is my home. I love the food, the energy, the culture. The more you dig, the more you find. It’s awesome!
We only got to dig a little but appreciated what we found. Happy to explore a peace of your hometown.
It looks so laid back...and colorful. Brazil is huge!! I love that you respected the church and didn't ring the bell as noted. Love the braids, Apryl!! You guys look like you got acclimated to the heat nicely. Nice to see the spatula back! 🤣
Lol, yes, yes and yes! The spatula is back, we adjusted to the climate and the city was laid back like Apryls braids 😂 We hope you are doing well!
Eu amo Olinda, eu amo Pernambuco, eu amo o nordeste.
A beautiful unique place!

Brasil is wonderful with it's flaws and its perks. We just want to share it with the world.
O Brasil e suas maravilhas
Olinda é maravilhoso!!!
Don’t forget to go to Porto de Galinhas. Its simply amazing… also you guys should go to the neighbor state Paraíba and capital João Pessoa!
Would love to if we had more time.
Esse canal é diferenciado,gostei
Oh I just love her hair 😍😍😍 and the video 😅❤
Thank you!
lugar muito lindo Olinda
lugar de muita cultura
Thank you guys ! I am far from there, in the center-west ( medierranean state), and I love notheast an north . Carnival is unique there, unique, not like Rio, much much better!!:
We keep hearing it’s the best place for carnival!
I am so happy you guys went to Orlinda, one of my favorite places to visit in Brazil outside of Rio. It actually reminds me also of San Miguel de Allende Mexico. Which is a place we call our second home.
We had that conversation while we were there reminded us of SMA too. Just a slice of sunshine
Lindo Olinda
My nephew grad MIT, computer/elec eng., worked san paulo, married a gal from NE Brazil. 🙂 Her family ran export business.
Family ties!
Adding Olinda to my bucket list! Great video 😊
Enjoy!
Top
Thanks!
Great video guys..the editing, content and everything else were so good. Keep up the great work!
Thank you!
Minha cidade, coisa boa ver a perspectiva de quem é de fora 😍
These outsiders love the colorful culturally rich city.
Parabéns ao canal, a cidade é maravilhosa 👏🏻🥰
It does look like a magical place. LOVE the dancers! Thanks for the info. Stay safe and enjoy.
Its different in a good way.
Perfeito
Hey, thanks for showing Olinda around, i grew up there and im still very fond of it. You really shouldve gone for the tapioca 🤷♂️. As it is with everything in Pernambuco, i believe Olinda is very underrated outside of Brazil.
Apryl your hair is beautiful! An amazing thing about Olinda is to see people do Frevo doing on those cobblestone hills😮. Also check out Maracatu rhythm, more Afro feel. Maceio Alagoas next? Next state over. I loved those beaches too.
Thank you! I bet it’s a real sight to watch Frevo. My knees though🥴
We’re headed south but will dig into Maracatu!
@@TheYarbros não se esqueçam de visitar estás 2 cidades quando forem para o sul do Brasil, canela e Gramado que fica no estado do Rio Grande do Sul. 🇧🇷👍
Muito bom
Sensacional
wow that dance at the bigging i love it.
another great video xxx Moni
The flag of Pernambuco is very beautiful but during the World Cup in Katar, authorities of that country arrested the flag of Pernambuco fans, they confused it with the GLBT flag.
Thanks for that interesting fact!
Era uma copa do mundo era só ter levado a bandeira do Brasil.Quis causar
Olinda é mágica!!!! Recife também!!!! Lindo vídeo: amei.
Thanks! It is magical!
Viva! Loved that you went to Olinda. (Didn't love that much the Bolsonaro 👺giant doll).
That part the painter was trying to explain, about the Rosary Church, is interesting. Back in the. days, everyone belonged to a church (that's why there are so many of them). One would belong to a certain church according to social status, profession etc. Throughout the Portuguese speaking world there is always a Lady of the Rosary church, which was the Black people's church. There were free black men and women, who joined in a brotherhood, and usually would chip in to buy emancipation to enslaved men. In these churches there would always be altars to black saints, such as Saint Benedict and Saint Kaleb of Axum (Elesbão). There was a considerable amount of free black men in the 17th and the 18th century. One of them was Henrique Dias who, along with native Brazilian Felipe Camarão and Portuguese Vidal de Negreiros, is considered a national hero for expelling the Dutch (sort of).
Yes, we bought his painting of the black church and learned a lot from him. We went back to get an interview with him afterwards to share with our channel. Really interesting stuff.
I hope you to visit Natal. We're close to the best part of the year in the northeast region, the June festivities.
We're heading south to see and understand more of Brasil.
Olinda, famosíssima pelo dança chamada "frevo" que atrais centenas de pessoas todos os anos, fora sua culinária bastante apreciada.
Wow!! It's place is mágic.
It was a wonderful day
Amei o vídeo
You guys look so relaxed! Love it.

Great video you guys! Thanks for putting Olinda on my map 🗺️🤗
Thanks for watching.
LOVE your hair Abryl! 🤗😍
Muito obrigada Sally!
Wonderful tour!!!
Thank you!
Everyone should know Brazil. Many would change their way of thinking and living with greater lightness and simplicity. Brazilians always seek more quality of life even with the difficulties. Unfortunately, few people on the planet still do not know the spiritist doctrine.
Grateful we’re here, experiencing for ourselves the beauty and complexity of this country.
@@TheYarbros o Brasil realmente é complexo, um país multicultural! É como se cada estado ou região do Brasil fossem um país diferente com sua própria cultura e tradição, Somos vários países dentro do Brasil. 😂🇧🇷
Vocês irão até Porto de galinha?
No, not this time around.
Hey fam! Apryl I love your hair you are looking even more beautiful and both you guys look happy and healthy. Such an interesting place. Thanks for the knowledge in this video. 🥰
Hey!!!👋🏾 Hanging out in these black communities... It was only a matter of time before I found someone to take care this hair. I hope you are doing well and taking care of yourself! Thanks for tuning in...this little town was reminiscent of San Miguel de Allende smaller but still fun.

Venham conhecer João Pessoa.
I wish we had enough time...
Looks great
It was a great way to spend the day!
Voces tem que conhecer porto de galinhas
We heard it was a beautiful place.
👏👏🤙
A curious fact about the afrobralizilian history in Pernambuco is that here in century XVII existed a African Kingdom. It was known as "quilombo dos palmares" and during 100 years. It is the mean symbol of afrobrazilian resistance.
Yes, we love that!
🥰🥰🥰😘
❤️
so, did you try our tapioca?
You MUST see a performance of a MARACATU group before leaving Recife
Appreciate your recommendations!
ahhhh you should be in northeast during month of june for the "festa junina" 😢😢😢
Yes, so we've heard.
Hy ninos... traduçoes automaticas não demonstram o pensamento fiel da dupla maravihosa... inserir a traduçao para portugueses entender sua narração... ourself think this moment tour!
