if you light up all the torches in aldia's keep you will find the key in the lobby, that key opens the doors of the area, also if Aldia sounds familiar, thats the burning monstrous head that sometimes appears in bonfires and calls you young hollow, he is also Vendrick's brother, he performed various experiments that created some of the creatures in Drangleic, an investigation to unveil the secrets of the curse, so he is also know as the Scholar of the First Sin.
Shulva is my favourite of the DLCs mostly due to its more puzzley nature and level design. I highly recommend having a bow handy for this DLC and keeping an eye out for switches ;)
Piece of advice to get the most out the game. Complete all the DLCs and obtain Vendrick's crown, I'll leave this to your imagination to figure out (remember the door you found in the shrine of amana across the bridge- may or may not need to be human), then talk to vendrick in the past (you'll figure this out soon). The crowns will have extra use at that point and will make for an immersive finish to the game. Also once you figure out the past, go back to visit the Duke's Dear Freja. I've tried my best not to spoil anything.
You need the Iron Key which is in the first room after the bonfire when you enter the Iron Keep. It was where the bull statue was breathing fire, but I think you put out the fire already. Don't remember if you already picked it up. Once you have that key you can go down the elevator in the Forest of Fallen Giants as if you you were going to where you fought the Last Giant. Right before you get to his boss room, on the left there is a door with a hollow soldier guarding it. It takes you into the room with the big flaming geckos. Once you open the door and enter the room, run straight past the first gecko and run towards the back room where there is another gecko waiting. There is an item in there that you missed, the heavy iron key, which lets you access the second dlc which is after the primal bonfire past where you defeated the Old Iron King. Great play through as always. You always remember to hit em wid it :D Be safe :)
"Is that Lucatiel?" It says Aslatiel, it's her brother who she talks about in her dialogue, never change Bass, also Do not pull the lever of that fog cell, but if you are hollow you can talk to him for some quests.

And now for some hints about Vendrik fight, U need to go to memories, yes it sounds wierd, they are the tree statues u see, and to acess them u need to finish the dragon area and talk to the ancient dragon. (you can also get one from triggering a boss battle with the ancient dragon just by attacking it). To help u out for the next viedo on where to find the statues besides the one u found in this video - one is around the main area/town, the second one is after the pursuer fight arena, and u can also access the memory of the dragon in the duke freja room (i never did this bc i am aracnophobic so i only did the fight and left never to return) Also if u want lore info u can go to the vendrik room and go to the pile/dark thing on the ground with sparkles to access his memory.

What you want to do is light the four torch posts in aldia keep, kill the forlorns, teleport to the shed and walk in. And those curse-fart monkey demons in aldias front yard are weird; they have such a loot table that the first one I killed dropped a Black Knight Greatsword so now I'm dual wielding those. Great fun.

you want to ignite the 4 torches that trigger the Forlon invasions in aldia keep and then returne to the lucatil´s brother Invasion in front of the skeleton dragon. for a good reward.
for the fire salamnders area there is no need to jump down, you need a key that is back at the iron keep, in the iron manor between the entrance bridge and the furnace(where the smelter demon was), that key opens the door in the forest of giants before the last giant boss fight, down the elevator, the key will take you to the dlc area, the one that is after the old iron king great boss fight.
just a tip if someone else hasn't said already, if your push forward on the stick and light attack at the same time, you should kick which staggers shield people and pretty sure forward and heavy attack is the jump attack you're confused about, lol.
The forlorn you fought, you can trade it with Straid's cell in Bastille. Another one is you need to free the bird ornifex in shaded woods, to trade boss souls for weapons.
You should really consider using a bonfire ascetic in the black Gulch to fight rotten again. Having two of his souls is well worth it for your bonking style of fighting.

I only fought the Darklurker in my latest Dark Souls 2 video and I managed to deal with the Darklurker on my very last human effigy using a lightning-infused Pursuer's Ultragreatsword and I managed to land the last hit while my brother was walking across the screen. I was so relieved I had won even though I was worried I was about to die. Lucatiel wasn't the one who attacked you, by the way. That was her brother. If you do manage to play the game again and you summon her enough times she'll give you her gear in the dialogue and nab you the achievement. The same will go for Benhart (the guy with the blue sword that was outside the entrance to the Shaded Woods.) Inside Aldia's Keep you did miss a midpoint bonfire hidden away behind a wall on a stairwell down to the pit you saw in that one door before you got to the jumpscare cyclopses. Beware, however, that if you do go back to that bonfire do not enter the room with the monsters to collect the loot until you've unequipped everything. That room is full of corrosive stuff.
Aldia Lore tldr version: Aldia is the brother of King Vendrik and a Scollar. A scollar of the first sin if. He did experiments with people that were not humane. He wants to end the circel of Fire but not starting a age of dark. he wants a third option. He also is the burning tree dude that jumpscared you a few times. He is rumored to have created Shanalotte( your firekeeper)
The Strength hardcap for two handing, particularly ultra grearswords is 55, so 40 is a very decent level. The only thing your should level really is VIT and your armor
Regarding Aldia's keep: You didn't really miss anything major or necessary, there was a bonfire you missed a few items and invasions. Optional content that can definitely be enjoyable to figure out though. Continuing: You can complete Dragon's Aerie & Dragon Shrine perfectly fine without repercussions for the story. It is a good place to start the DLC's as well however. To continue the main story you have to finish dragon's aerie & shrine, after that you can interact with that giant tree you saw behind the Forest of Fallen Giants King's door. I actually recommend going through the King's Door in Drangleic Castle now, before you finish Dragon Aerie. (If you finish Dragon Aerie first, then do NOT go through the Door until you've killed Vendrick. If you do so, you'll lose out on a cool part of the finale.) I won't spoil, but events change what's beyond the King's Door, and if you hold off going there until after you've done everything else, you'll be setting yourself up for a difficult fight.

Oh my. Best DLC so far in way of structures. Other better in a way of suffering.
Wasn't it an illusionary wall in this game that you were supposed to hit like 50 times to open it?
Elden Ring had one. In this game, you don’t hit them to open them. You press a key/button to open them.

Oooook haha
Y'know at some point a full Mage cheater replay is going to have to be done after all the complaints and moaning throughout these souls journeys. The 'Blast em with it' Playthrough become that which you fear young bonker
Ooof IdkXD
This is the best game to be a mage. So many options.
