So I’ve listened to these two in the shop today. Stockwell 2 isn’t that loud but loud enough for a picknick or small room. Emberton is way louder. But I would describe main the difference between the two as such: The stockwell represents the sing and song writer sound it’s really personal creating a bit of a bubble. While the emberton would represent a bigger stage sound. You could definitely hear the difference. The stockwell seemed to carry the sound through the air while the emberton was more direct. I actually liked both, and although some complain about the bass it was actually really good on both of these. But they are for different people as those who like the JBL style. It’s not made for big party’s, but small gatherings. You know the cafe vs the club kind of thing. I like the Marshalls more!
JBL will always be better. I have the Emberton for my desk and enjoy it. Your comparison is kind of spot on. I have never heard them side by side, but did notice it in this video. The stockwell II seems kind of muffled for whatever reason though. the Emberton has better over all sound that kicks just enough, but not too much
Another great comparison! It's crazy how different these sound considering they are both from Marshall. After listening to the Stockwell 2, the mid-range seems to be somewhat missing on the Emberton. At the same time, the Stockwell 2 can appear muffled after listening to the Emberton!
The marschall stockwell2 is a ideal speaker for people living in a small appartment because it projects a very clean and nutral sound especialy good for "normal"listening levels and not to heavy music, for jazz, acoustic instruments, smooth jazz, funk, and live recorded music. It is not so good for heavy rock, RAp, dub, heavy Dance etc, but a very good rael HiFI sounding portable speaker, maybe even the finest in it size, problem with a lot of youtube 'review"is that a lot of demos is done with unrealystic electronic bass beats and heavy synth sounds, for that youĺl be much happier with a JBL speaker or even a 1000 Watt P.A system, that is not what Marschall despite their Rock heritage was aiming for making the Stockwell 2, allso this speaker hass a rather peculiar" pseudo-stereo"soundstage that a lot of demos on youtube totaly ingnore to convey, since a lott of reviewers record their demos with on ly ONE microphone, only a few reviewers got it right ( Oluf amongst them) so when a stockwell2 sounds BAd its more likely the recording skill, or lack of it , by the reviewer. So interested in a very, very, good portable bleutooth speaker witch in many cases can even replace a normal stereo system in a smal to medium size room, go listen in a shop, with your one music, bet youĺl be surprised. 9
stockewell first gen vs 2nd gen. which is better for sound. bass, treble, mid.. which one win ? I have stockwell 1st gen and planning to buy 2nd gen. but I want to know is it a much diff sound ? thanks
@@kunalrana5321 Its still the best speaker I have ever owned, never let me down. Still using it much and on construction sides. Its just like on the first day I got it and Battery is also fine. I can only deeply recommend it to you. 👍🏻
It's a strange thing. Every video I watched with Stockwell II after Autumn 2019 sounds mediocre and I can almost agree with reviewers that it gets defeated by the oposing speaker. The early videos (summer 2019) reveal a really great performance by Stockwell II. Just like mine. I really love it. Anyone experiencing this?
Не, стоквелл - это радиоточка, с задранными средними и выкл. низкими. Эмбертон более сбалансированный звук с невыпячивающимся вокалом. Но с придушенными верхами.
Unfair comparison, I think you should have increase the bass on the stockwell 2 or at least try to put them at the same level. No one knows how Marshall structured the sound on the emberton.
You can get both for the same price, so I think it is very fair to compare them side by side ;) Btw: There are many people who are interessted in how those two sound by hearing the whole frequency-spectrum. Which means not hat only bass ;)
I do not recommend this product. You will be charged a premium for this product with very poor customer service. This product has a regular battery issue and I experienced the same. I got a brand new Marshall speaker, Stockwell II. The battery did not work from the beginning. I communicated with Marshall's customer service for change/repair. After it was clarified that the speaker has a problem, they stopped replying to me and did not arrange for replacing/repairing the speaker.
@@lawrobi i only have the stockwell 2. For what i have read. Best sound quality, clarity and sound stage. But lower max volume. This is for sound quality. Best
@@bruno6679 yeah I also read that the new black and brass version didn't come with the same best sound quality compared to the first generation of stockwell 2 (black, grey)
You should make the skipping parts shorter because it is a shitty long time between both boxes so that you near don't hear both boxes on the same trackline. It's very annoying and hard to hear.
In real life you'd hear the difference. The stockwell got a much better bass then the emberton. The emberton can't reach the lower bass. The Stockwell has a warm sound, the Emberton is more for if you only listen to rockmusic or don't mind the lack of bass. The killburn is the big brother, so it goes higher volume, more bass, but the size is less portable too. I connect my bassguitar to the stockwell with an audiocable (the emberton can't do that) and it's ideal to practice at home that way. (only drawback is that the sound mutes if you don't play anything a few seconds, it then needs a second or two to unmute when you play another note) The killburn is overkill, but if you don't have neighbors or housemates around you, it should't be a problem.
@@JVJF7 but personally i go buy the emberton cuz it has freakin 20 WATT 2•10 WATT and passive radiators. I mean look at the size of the jbl charge 3 and the emberton. Do u see? Yep i think h know what i mean. Its smaller and has the same power, it has fast charge with USB-C and same IPX 7. Charge 4 is killing the emberton for sure, but fir its size its sick.

More instruments be heard from stockwell. Emberton sounds all around well tuned.
Emberton sounds better and warmer. Bought it today
Awesome! Getting the emberton after this

What were the settings on the trebble and bass for the stockwell II at time of this recording ?
I think this evaluation would be improved by varying mic distance and locations.
so who win?
In my headphones i hear with a little more quality in the emberton, a little better the bass, yesterday, I bought the stockell 2
me too...hehehehe.....bought the Stockwell coz it looks awesome
Do you select such music for audio test ? First have that corrected.
Having issue with stockwell 2 while connecting to my macbook. Any suggestions?

Would the Emberton be good enough sound for a small living room in my apartment?
Dude! Just make up your mind already
Just bought the Stockwell II after owning the Emberton and not gonna lie...Emberton sounds louder
Does this emberton sound better than the good old Denon Envaya 250?
that's exactly what i want to know ! Which one sounds better for vocals ( medium) not muffled ! with no extra bass.🙄
