This scene in particular really allows us to see the hurt child in him, he really does seem like a little boy who just can't handle it anymore when he says "I wanted to trust you." sad sad sad.
There is little child in all of us, and depending on how much pain they experienced, will determine when, where, how often, and how loudly they cry out. They first cry to us, and if we don't listen and help them, which we can, they will cry through us and often create problems for ourselves and others. If no one else listens, we must listen.😉
This is one of the best scenes in any movie I've ever seen. There is some beauty in the tragedy. He can't kill her and doesn't want to because she understands him to a degree. She doesn't see him as different. Even though he's nuts and a psycho killer he really loves her.
“You made me weak, you hurt me” is such a relatable feeling and one of his more human moments. I think many people turn their humanity off out of hurt and it makes them feel unredeemable or afraid of being hurt again hence they hurt others
Rewatching this, he might not have ever intended to shoot her. He obviously pre-planned by bringing the dead guy there to use as a fakeout corpse, so he may have intended to let her live as a witness to the fake suicide.
“Do you know what he will do? He’ll bite you to death!” Disturbing part of this whole thing is he’s referring to himself to his Red Dragon persona and she’s blind and thinks he’s talking about someone else.
You left out the best part after this clip, where Will runs toward the house like an idiot, it explodes, and blows him back. I literally shit my pants laughing at that scene.
The actress, Emily what's-her-name did a far better American accent than Ralph Fiennes. Both actors are English, but that woman's American accent sounded so much more authentic and natural than Fiennes'. Even in this emergent scene her American accent didn't falter at all.
Indeed, Ralph is a really talented actor, but there are British actors who are so much better at imitating an American accent. E.g. Christian Bale in "American Psycho" had me fooled!
@@valerianmandrake The best American accent I've seen an Englishman (or any foreigner) fake was Helena Bonham-Carter in Fight Club. I had no idea she was a Brit until years after I saw the movie. Then when I watched it again I paid attention and her American-speak was so casual, so natural, there was simply no way you could tell she wasn't American.
after the credits, its pretty cool because it shows them putting his "charcoal" corpse in the police van and all of a sudden big purple wings explode out of hid back.. It made jump off of my toliet the first time I saw it.
Smokeless Hollywood fire aside, there's no way she could have heard that clock since her ears would still be ringing from that shotgun going off indoors. Great scene nonetheless, but sometimes knowing things can ruin things.
Eh, it still never explains how she doesn't hear him run out the back of the house. with her superb hearing she would have heard his movement. The setup is clearly meant for the audience, to create a twist for the finale.
Sorry but cloroform cannot be administered from a frontal position in this manner. This move just wouldn't work on a woman if she was fighting for her life. You have to approach from behind. Cheers
"He shot himself in the face, I put my hand in it."
That's metal

Notawesomeatall7 I don’t think you’ll reply after 10 years lol but yea your right

Bro, he was just saying all that to fake his death because the feds were closing in
She was just a fling, meaningless, like lint or a bottle cap
Hes a man fighting a monster in his mind a decease saturating his very soul. The fact he was able to spare her is strangely noble.
Rewatching this, he might not have ever intended to shoot her. He obviously pre-planned by bringing the dead guy there to use as a fakeout corpse, so he may have intended to let her live as a witness to the fake suicide.
VideoMask93 no i think he was going to brain her too. She is afterall a pretty poor witiness.
No he wasn't going to kill her. He decided to fake his death. Obviously he wanted her to think he was dead.
Like misses jacoby. The is mirrow they want to disstroy death. But didnt work
*disease
being blind in a fire....scary shit.
“That freaking place was on fire?!”
-Peter Griffin
Ralph Fiennes was perfectly cast as Dolarhyde!
Not just cast.. but, an awesome actor. (Genius makes it look easy.)
“Do you know what he will do? He’ll bite you to death!” Disturbing part of this whole thing is he’s referring to himself to his Red Dragon persona and she’s blind and thinks he’s talking about someone else.
Now that’s what I call a Tinder date!

So I'm not the only one that laughed my ass off at that
I hate when I literally shit my pants bro. Bet that sucked.
Completely smokeless indoors fire, that's a nice invention.
Great acting from these two!

One year but here to say it's Watson. Great, underrated actress. 👍

Christian Bale is Welsh I think, the Welsh sound a lot like us for some reason
I've never watched many Ralph Fiennes films really but this is an amazing role for him Check out his Bond films as Gareth Mallory
Now that’s what you call great acting
Once you’re a firefighter, watching Hollywood’s version of fires is a joke.
I don't think you need to be a firefighter to laugh at a home engulfed in flames with no smoke.
To me, Francis Dolarhyde is one of those villains whose past somewhat justifies who he is.

Alot of people watch movies on the toilet idiot
Best movie
You cut the clip at the best part, when the house explodes in front of Edward Norton
The blood comes out before the shot 😂😂
She was a hot woman glad that she survived.
Smokeless Hollywood fire aside, there's no way she could have heard that clock since her ears would still be ringing from that shotgun going off indoors.

The grandfather clock allowed her to geolocate and escape.
This guy is freaky sick and damn smart. He is totaly crazy and disturbing,...Muhahahhahaha,...the Movie was cool!
Pause at 1:16 - she looks like Mason Verger
Not seen this film - looks good but I think you should put spoiler up or note in title that it's the final scene. Glad he didn't kill the blind girl.
its not the final scene
Before me you tremble
Still wondering how he survived the shotgun
Bruno_Tattaglia he took the dude that he shot in the head from the earlier scene and shot him with the shotgun
Paidgamerking ohh thanks
He also left his grandmother's dentures near the scene to make it look like they were his unique dragon tooth ones.
@@Shanethefilmmaker I’ve seen this movie a thousand and I missed that
I knew he shot ralph Mandy in the face

This scene is appallingly bad. 😂

TheGodParticle she's blind so she literally didn't see it coming
why do you sound like an expert on this?

That's how he gets his dates...
Chloroform rags also take about five minutes to knock a person out
