In this video on Projekt 964, KW Suspension stepped in and provided us with a V3 coil-over kit, which replaces the stock springs and shocks with a lower, sportier setup. TPC Racing's Rogan Devlin handles the installation, which you may use as a guide to do the same job on your 964. This installation covers all 964-generation 911 Carrera models. At the end of the installation, stay tuned for shots of before and after the alignment, as well as with the new HRE wheels and Pirelli P Zero tires.
    Tools:
    - ratchet set
    - metric hex socket set up to 22mm
    - Torx sockets
    - Offset box end wrench set in metric (for shock top nut)
    - Allen keys
    - Breaker bar
    - Depending on work setup, bottle jack/standing jack to support control arms and trailing arms if needed
    - Anti-seize
    - penetrating oil
    Parts:
    - KW coil-over kit
    - coil-over top hats for the front if needed (or upgraded camber plates)
    - Anti-roll bar end links if needed

I’ve had the KW v3’s on my ‘91 964 Turbo for a little over a year, & love them so far!

I have a 90' C4. I've read many times this IS the set up for the 964. Looking forward to hearing about the driving experience, adjustments made after install etc. Hope that thing has functional AC! Palm Springs is hot! Great video. Thanks for putting this out.

We’ll be sure to share the driving experience here on UA-cam. Glad you enjoyed the video!

Surprisingly, even after sitting for over ten years, the AC worked perfectly. Even during a Palm Springs summer.

Thanks for the great video which helped me a lot! But one hint: the self securing nut (to fix the strut in the top mount) just needs 50Nm (37ft-lbs) according to the instructions from KW.

Great video. I liked the detail explanation and showing some of the difficulty with the old parts. I got a good look at the 964 at Palm Springs Parade. It looks great. How does it drive now?

I heard KWs may need 14mm to 12 mm reducing inserts. We’re they included?

Correction, the top mount has two settings. Facing inwards is for the settings for the narrow-body cars. and the outside setting for the turbo/wide-body cars.

Measuring the ride height is always from the centre of the wheel to the fender edge

Thanks for the video! What about some cleaning of the wheelhouses before filming? 😅 Maybe you are planning to do a video cleaning the whole underside of the car with dry ice?

All srews need a defined torque. Allthough in your video there are mentioned some of the required torques, I haven't seen a torque wrench in operation. Just hoping you only missed to show it.

    Is KW better than Bilstein?

Bilstein and KW both make great products. Can’t say one is better than the other.

Shouldn’t he be using a fender apron to protect the paint? All it takes is a slipped wrench or socket or dropping something and you might get a nasty scratch in the paint.

    • @PorscheClubofAmerica
      @PorscheClubofAmerica  Рік тому

Yes, that would have been a good measure of protection. Thankfully no paint was harmed in the making of this video :)

You're installing a $3000+ coilover kit (plus labor). Is it not worth the $300 to replace the top bushing??? For me it's a no brainer... Refresh it while you are in there. Nice informative video though.
