Honestly, the HyperSpin/Big Box competition is all but over. I finally completely deleted my Hyperspin setup from my hard drive. Big Box does everything HyperSpin did and more. It’s just sad to see HS die such a slow, agonizing death without the developers even lifting a finger.
It brings me joy to see Metamorphic Force featured at 1:15. I love that game

Unified theme is still my favorite. It's what I've used for at least the last year. Where did you get that kickass NeoGeo MVS movie that sounds like Nathan Barnatt's cool Neo Geo song?
Two reasons why I ended up using AttractMode over this. 1: Menu elements are literally incapable of holding steady at 60fps. 2: The introductory animation it goes through every time you navigate to a new game is neat and all, but I want the option to have all that pop up *immediately.* Including playing the video *immediately.* If you're scrolling through games randomly, trying to find an interesting looking one, you simply do not want to have to wait 3-4 seconds each time you scroll the wheel. How about 0 seconds? How about the option for 0 seconds?
I paid for a life membership for LB and BB though I don’t use it. Why I picked up a few unnecessary viruses through downloading Roms which I have had many times.

I'd love to have the CriticalZone layout that starts at 1:30 but I can't figure out how to get that? Do you have a bunch of custom game themes within CriticalZone?

Awesome video. How did you add the "beat 'em up" and other categories to your arcade wheel? I use Unified Refried and cant seem to get it to work. Is it structured that way in Launchbox via folders?

How are you flipping through the different layouts?
There are lots of "ok" themes for BigBox but very few (if any) great themes.
I have a bigbox. Launchbox only download a dozen or so themes on over 2000 "mame" games. What am I doing wrong ? [The games were pre-filtered by launchbox audit]
But what are you pressing to change those themes on the fly??

I don’t think it’s on by default. You have to go into big box, settings, assign keys and it’s near the bottom to change view

Would you rather have hyper spin or big box? I’m having one built with launchbox/big box hope I’m making the right choice
Hyperspin can’t to my knowledge change themes when you have chosen and installed a build for instance and lacks many other features and functions. I think you are good.
i have a 2tb hyperspin set up with all the emumovies. can i port these over to big box to save time instead of downloading from servers? what folder should i look for?
Yep! in Bigbox/launchbox just remap your media folders to the (assuming) d:\hyperspin\media\system name\
How do you switch views on the fly?
Inside Bigbox, go to controls and towards the bottom of the list you can assign a key or gamepad button to switch theme views
How do you switch views when you are inside of a Theme?

You can set up a hotkey within BigBox options, and then you can change themes and views on the fly

Importing takes way too long for the amount of files I have. I tried to import just my GBA games overnight, twice...Just to come back to database still updating/Freezing. I just bought the Big Box and I'm getting frustrated.
Big box imports a ton of media, try turning off videos during the initial import to speed up the process and then go back and get them on the second pass!
How do you get game play video? Is that built into Big Box or from Emumovies?
Yep! Launchbox has tons of built in media, emumovies just adds even more and gives you more options, not required but nice to have.
Awesome but downloading is so slow. How can I add video and box art faster? Is there any zip file?
Servers were faster before the pandemic, not sure what the cause would be besides increased user count/usage but some art is posted on the launchbox forums and that might be a faster server?
How to get AAE?
Why do your videos/snaps contain a whole other theme in them? Is that hyperspin? Seems like a theme within a theme a bit information overload..

Hello LunchBox is developing incredibly, it is a pity that can:
1. When switching on, you cannot set your own video, intro, just like in Hs, there is only the Big Box inscription
2. not do something similar to Hs on the nested wheel model, i.e. the wheel in the Arcade, Console, etc.
I am waiting for such a possibility ;)
How are you switching views without using menus?
There is a 'switch view' hotkey you can assign in bigbox options
He didnt show anyone how he setup the videos or how to select any of the options or how to select them.

Haha, nice another one with my view of City Hunter 2. The typefaces on the information boxes are super tacky, not in a good way (the 80s were rad, that typeface still isn't) and hard to read.
I said this once, but I was downvoted to oblivion by the creator even though I gave praise for the overall theme execution.
