I wonder how cyberrunner is gonna be different than a pirate. Can't wait to see if you are gonna do such a build. I would really enjoy being a robinhood in space, being a treat to power and big corporations.
I'm also expecting to have some sort of new Vegas bounties with a bounty specific questline. So far from what I've seen bounty hunters are more general quests so having an actual story for the bounty hunter would be nice
This is so much more rewarding than a thief playthrough in TES, I want to try a long haul style trucker build first but pirate will be my first negative karma build.
This is exactly what I was planning on doing. Not sure though since I would rather be actually flying more than it seems you do when traveling around so I'm still kind of back and forth. Will very likely do a playthrough in this style too though and then probably one as a bounty hunter
I'm wondering how viable it would be to be a privateer- piracy but not going after the "little guy", instead piracy versus the official transports of a big nation that can actually afford to absorb the loss. More morally grey and less "I ruined his finances and then killed him too"
@@JB-xl2jc Mission boards love to send you after pirates. Take out their engines and steal their contraband. I have been doing it a lot ever since I boarded and kept a Crimson Fleet Ghost II. Been enjoying my early access and I definitely am playing a smuggler/pirate focused character. Much sadness when I figured out that there’s no flushed out morally dubious characters.
I hope in one the dlc we can make a fleet of ships and have big space battles, like becoming a pirate king or joining one of the factions and being a ship captain of a fleet
Giving anything 10/10 makes it overrated and turns people away from games. This means that you think that it has 0 flaws, none. This is why the 1 - 100 system is better, where you have leeway for rating. The game is phenomenal but not a 10/10 by far.
To join the crimson fleet you can also refuse the mission that sydef give you and just go to Cysonia in mars. A guy tell you that neava is seeing you and approve your doings, and start the crimson fleet quest (best choice giving the rp circonstances).
i havent finished the video yet so idk if you said this but you can build bounty clearance boards and mission boards in your home or settlement. so you can roleplay more
I was pleasantly surprised when mission to infiltrate crimson fleet become available when I was caught with contraband. Kind of reminds black brotherhood from Oblivion
My next playthrough is going to follow this guide. I want to see if you can get contraband before you first arrive at Alpha Centauri, and get "recruited" for the CF quest arc right away.
Easiest place to sell contraband without getting scanned before meeting the crimson fleet is going to The Den in the Wolf system, it’s very close to New Atlantis.
If you go to Porrima III there is a place called red mile go to the star port master there and get sheilded cargo if you want to be good in the game but also sell contraband to make a lot of money
SPOILER READ AT YOUR OWN RISK! FYI it seems like a lot of people don’t know this yet but for roleplay purposes I feel it’s necessary to share the information I ended up discovering. You don’t even have to be a mole for SysDef if you don’t want to. When you initially meet them just act like you are going to work with them up until you are directly face to face with their commander on the second floor. After that if you select the attack option you can easily run towards the elevator go back to the first floor and then make a run for your ship. After that just grav jump away and then the mission will update telling you to seek out the crimson fleet on your own. Everything basically proceeds as it normally does with going to Mars and stuff from there only you will not have to deal with SysDef and can just be a pirate no strings attached. Also ensure that after you successfully escape from SysDef and grav jump away do not go directly to the key like I did. That was a mistake. You still have to go to Mars first and complete the initial missions to join up otherwise the fleet will still be hostile.
I'm honestly happy that the role-playing part of starfield was well made. Of course it has bugs but come on, it's a Bethesda game. At this point is expected to have. I just hope that this time they try to fix it before the modders so they can focus on other mods.
Highly doubt that. What they'll do probably is, let the modders improve the game, buy it from the modder, then monetize on that. *Bethesda* cheaper than spending on R&D.
Yeah I haven't even ran into any game breaking bugs yet just funny things like people/items glitching into walls it's also only crashed on me once on x bone.
Jesus, FudgeMuppet… After an intro like that, you got me thinking I’m seventeen minutes and forty-two seconds away from learning how to divide by zero, heh 😆
I'd loke to make a build suggestion: The Stowaway: A serial killer who's good at speech, convincing and manipulating others, traversal, infiltration, traps/explosives, melee in stealth and up front should things get out of hand with a ranged weapon of your choice. Second suggestion: The Explorer: Great at building, enterprising, surviving and hunting, particularly interested in [redacted] weapons.
Please will you do an Oblivion run with only hand to hand? No weapons, armor, or spells! Potions and exploits allowed! Difficulty can be anything you want! That would make my year! Thank you for all that you do! Hope you are well! Keep up the awesome work! Love your channel!
If you go to Porrima III there is a place called red mile go to the star port master there and get sheilded cargo if you want to be good in the game but also sell contraband to make a lot of money
Looking forward to the “Is X Worth It?” Videos. That’s what brought me to the channel back when Fallout 4 was new. I was going to take unarmed and dueling, figuring I could use weapons until my unarmed catches up and I’d get the points I need for explosives. But then I realized I wanted Armor Pen, so I’ll be forced to take something that has to do with guns anyway to reach it. So I figured I’d drop Dueling and pick something else and add another perk (right now I’m thinking Balistics, Pistols, Explosives, one in Reload, and Armor Pen). But since I don’t want to spread myself too thin, I started second guessing some things I wanted like Environmental Resist and the ones that let you heal from afflictions faster.
Focusing unarmed to begin with and then going into energy or ballistic weapons later is my plan for the moment since i don't really know what your options are for weapons. Explosives and potentially heavy weapons seem like a safe bet though
Dig the content and glad you're having fun with it, but man, gonna wait till this gets a heavy discount before getting into. Good thing I'll have your videos to reference if I do.
There’s a third way to join the fleet that spins off the second way that you mentioned. What you need to do is turn down the offer and serve your time or pay your bounty then make your way to Cydonia on Mars. How it unfolds from there, though, I don’t know.
^THIS...I'm not sure why no one's covering this method, I've scoured google and YT and even Reddit and nearly 99.9% of the time they just tell you to do it by vanguard mission.
Being a pirate with the kid stuff trait is kinda funny imagine you do piracy as an alias to avoid your parents finding out Could be like explorer background or professor and treat it as paying off your parents house or student loans
Fun fact I've found that if you go to the ship option in the menu you can actually register the ship in the menu. That said I'm not sure if you can only do that in certain places.
You can skip going the UC-V route and just go steal some random item where people can see you in New Atlantis, then just opt to go to jail. That will also trigger the UC/Crimson questline. However, if you want access to the vanguard ship mods, then continue the way advised in the video.
I've already found a way to cheese smuggling lol. When you enter Jemison orbit, you can immediately land at one of the locations outside New Atlantis before the scan completes. Then you drop your contraband, return to orbit and get scanned, land at New Atlantis, fast travel to where you dropped your contraband, and you can fast travel back to New Atlantis without needing to be scanned again. I'd assume this works with the other main faction planets too.
Or you can travel to the wolf system which is near alpha centari and there's a spacestation called the den, which has no scanners and you can sell to a trade kiosk
OH nice, I didn't know you could start the questline from the vanguard since I had it start after stealing a pirate ship that just happen to have contraband on it.
Working through my first character as a Pirate and it's going to be hard to top this honestly. With regards to backgrounds, Bounty Hunter has some useful skills and it did come up in the quest line.
Great information, but a suggestion, please mention the controls/keys used for different actions as you explain them would be quite helpful. If anyone knows how I can rebind the "leave cockpit" control from the "E" key please reply. Its so irritating to be in a flight and get yanked out to endure two cutscene animations to sit back down.
My character build is always the gunslinger that can wither hack or talk his way into everything. Had to dump alot of xp into ship combat so i could start my side hustle of stealing ships that shoot at me
I can't decide if I like being the pirate or hunting pirates. Because I realized anytime I board criminal based ships I'm finding contraband always. Not once have I not had contraband but it does vary since the first time I got 1 contraband recently I just 3 contraband from a level 8 ship so either it's really good to pirate hunt or I'm extremely lucky
If you have a ship with a bunch of cargo space as your home, as your raiding ships you can sit in the pilot seat of stolen ship, undock then re dock and all of the items you may have missed.. although along with very low priced miscellaneous items although you can easily sell them
Quick Money Tip: Steal ships and sell them at New Atlantis there's a wall you can walk through in the commercial district and get your money back plus what ever the vendor has on hand
While this seems like my kind of gameplay, I don't think I'll do that on my first playthrough solely because I like the main companions in Bethesda games and don't want to be limited to a specific set of "evil" pals.
I joined the fleet a completely different way it was awesome I stole a fleet ship woth contraband failed the scan and they brought me in and told me I can either join them to infiltrate the fleet or go to jail. I was not expecting that !

Thanks for putting the spoilery section at the end can't wait to finally play this Wednesday needs to be here faster
Been enjoying my early access and I definitely am playing a smuggler/pirate focused character. Much sadness when I figured out that there’s no flushed out morally dubious characters.
Dang fungmuppet has been cooking they have posted like 30 vids in the past week
I hope in one the dlc we can make a fleet of ships and have big space battles, like becoming a pirate king or joining one of the factions and being a ship captain of a fleet
If you are not playing this game, you are missing out. 10/10
Giving anything 10/10 makes it overrated and turns people away from games. This means that you think that it has 0 flaws, none. This is why the 1 - 100 system is better, where you have leeway for rating. The game is phenomenal but not a 10/10 by far.
Is it reallt that much fun?!
i like the game a lot but it’s no skyrim. the forced gay options are also very distracting. i wish they’d done romance like skyrim.
@@chadwolf3840 lmao what, coming from someone called chadwolf3840 I was sure you would embrace gay options
@@Hizovi not surprising at all that the guy sperging about someone’s personal rating of the game took such offense to that criticism
Thank you for making the pirate first! I am binge watching One Piece from the beginning.
"You're looking for the best of the best, of the best, sir."
To join the crimson fleet you can also refuse the mission that sydef give you and just go to Cysonia in mars. A guy tell you that neava is seeing you and approve your doings, and start the crimson fleet quest (best choice giving the rp circonstances).
I just started up again the other day. 27hr of playtime later and I think "gentleman privateer" is going to be my Starfield stealth archer.
Glad the poll turned out for this!
And fudgemuppet, you two hard at work eh!
Just beat the game, Ng+ is so unique and amazing I love it
i havent finished the video yet so idk if you said this but you can build bounty clearance boards and mission boards in your home or settlement. so you can roleplay more
I was pleasantly surprised when mission to infiltrate crimson fleet become available when I was caught with contraband. Kind of reminds black brotherhood from Oblivion
My next playthrough is going to follow this guide. I want to see if you can get contraband before you first arrive at Alpha Centauri, and get "recruited" for the CF quest arc right away.
I wouldn't have anyone else bring me these guides
Sarah is completely fine with piracy for some reason. Not murder, but if you pick the pirate dialogue option she really could care less.

Fudgefield* 🚀
Me when a Bethesda UA-cam channel post a lot about the new Bethesda game 😱
@@BoogChannelI can't believe how much they're putting 🔥
Starmuppet would also be acceptable lol
@@x86ed it sounds cooler but fudgefield sounds funny
Jesus, FudgeMuppet…
After an intro like that, you got me thinking I’m seventeen minutes and forty-two seconds away from learning how to divide by zero, heh
😆
I'd loke to make a build suggestion:
The Stowaway:
A serial killer who's good at speech, convincing and manipulating others, traversal, infiltration, traps/explosives, melee in stealth and up front should things get out of hand with a ranged weapon of your choice.
Second suggestion:
The Explorer:
Great at building, enterprising, surviving and hunting, particularly interested in [redacted] weapons.
I love how Starfield has breathed new life in to ol fudgemuppet lol
From what I can tell we should have plenty of points by the end of the game to have all the perks we want
@@Skim_beeble7125 That’s true, but I figure it pays to think about what you want to level up sooner Vs later.
Focusing unarmed to begin with and then going into energy or ballistic weapons later is my plan for the moment since i don't really know what your options are for weapons. Explosives and potentially heavy weapons seem like a safe bet though
Thank you! Yall are quick as hell with these builds, I forgot, don't yall edit your breathes out?
Being a pirate with the kid stuff trait is kinda funny imagine you do piracy as an alias to avoid your parents finding out
Could be like explorer background or professor and treat it as paying off your parents house or student loans
Fun fact I've found that if you go to the ship option in the menu you can actually register the ship in the menu. That said I'm not sure if you can only do that in certain places.
I've regive registered ships that have landed on planets that I went up and captured
You can skip going the UC-V route and just go steal some random item where people can see you in New Atlantis, then just opt to go to jail. That will also trigger the UC/Crimson questline. However, if you want access to the vanguard ship mods, then continue the way advised in the video.
wolf system, the den. great starter spot to sell contraband
I love the Crimson Fleet!
Get the Captains quarters on the Fleet HQ. Place a bounty self service terminal in your Quarters.
Man, really hoping there will be a playthrough of this game from you guys in the future!
This game looks great I can’t wait to restart it over and over again because I want to play a new character
The best game for decades 😊 imagine when mods will arrive 😅
I can’t wait for the inevitable Sim Settlements port to Starfield.
FudgeMichael putting in the work. 😁
OH nice, I didn't know you could start the questline from the vanguard since I had it start after stealing a pirate ship that just happen to have contraband on it.
Exactly what I was looking for
Where were you 4 hours ago this is so helpful
Here's a next build idea. Bounty Hunter ala Bobba Fett/Din Djarin
Working through my first character as a Pirate and it's going to be hard to top this honestly.
With regards to backgrounds, Bounty Hunter has some useful skills and it did come up in the quest line.
Great job on all the starfiled videos btw😊
That's very interesting but how do you get to become a werewolf or join the thieves guild
Fudge and lore based guides. Name a better duo
My character build is always the gunslinger that can wither hack or talk his way into everything. Had to dump alot of xp into ship combat so i could start my side hustle of stealing ships that shoot at me
Damn, that gun really do go brrr!
Might be fun to play a pirate based on a character from Black Sails, and role-play their motives.
really looking forward to playing as a pirate!!
Me: *tries to play peacefully*
Also me: “So anyway, I started blastin’.
Being a rogue Mantis has been pretty fun so far
Quick note? If you register it at your outpost, it's cheaper than jumping into Akila or whatever.
Oh yeah 😎
The mods for this game will be insane
So it begins!! The Fudgemuppet builds are coming!! I can’t wait till mods start coming. I will be a pirate with a treasure planet stable ship!!
I joined the fleet a completely different way it was awesome I stole a fleet ship woth contraband failed the scan and they brought me in and told me I can either join them to infiltrate the fleet or go to jail. I was not expecting that !
What's great is if you decide to go to jail you'll still be contacted by Crimson Fleet
Docking always gives me interstellar vibes
Long John silver was a chief in treasure island before he did the whole mutiny thing. Food for thought 😅.
Y’all should redo this one with a proper backstory and weapons section 😭😭
