Gibson is proud to partner with industry expert Rick Beato on his new Les Paul Special Double Cut in TV Blue Mist.
Rick’s new signature model features a double cutaway body that is slightly thinner (1 .5") than normal, making it lighter and more comfortable. The Tune-O-Matic™ bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece ensure excellent sustain and easy intonation adjustment, while the dual P-90 pickups deliver classic Les Paul Special tones. For a distinctive look, the guitar is finished in a new satin nitrocellulose lacquer color, developed with Rick and named TV Blue Mist, and Rick's signature is reproduced on the truss rod cover. An Original Series hardshell case is included.

I am a Telecaster guy, however in my last 3 songs and even before those I found myself using a Yellow TV Gibson double cut with P-90's for the leads. The neck pick up just sounded better. Watching this video, I hear him saying the same thing. That proves that follow your ear is the best method of recording in music.
Received mine on Thursday. Really appreciate Rick’s work and his love of teaching music. I’ve been playing for over 40 years and have learned so much from him…that’s why I bought one…to support music education and Rick. Thanks Gibson for building this model.

Thanks for honoring Rick! I hope this will be the first of many. Rick has made incredible contributions to our world of music between his participation in recording and music education. His passion is insane. I don't generally think UA-camrs deserve signature guitars, but Rick has totally earned the right to have one -- and from Gibson, no less. I can't afford a Rick Beato Gibson (or any Gibson for that matter, lol), but I hope you'll do a run of Epiphones sometime. This is a really nice guitar desifn -- and to have the proceeds go to charity is a massive bonus. Well done!
@todd moore I think it's really nice. Someone on ThreeChordDave's channel (you'll see) doesn't see what's so special as compared to a regular Special, but I guess I couldn't make him understand it during the Premier lol. He almost pulled the trigger and then decided against it. I'm also not sure why he thinks there's a thick 50's neck when Beato clearly said it has a thin one But that's ok, we all have our idea of what we like -- more for everyone who likes this Special-Special guitar! 😊

I just love the sound of this ... bright, light and warm. Normally, I play to compose or transscribe songs - but I could easily see myself spending hours and hours chasing harmonies and progressions on a guitar like this ... or simply improvise over themes. Lovely!!

I got a Les Paul DC special back in 2018...they were on sale at Guitar Center for $599 and I could not resist...very happy with the guitar....I see they have already double in price on Reverb, not selling but that's pretty good appreciation....thanks Rick

Very cool! My Double Cut with 1 P-90 only is within my top 3 guitars I ever owned…so simple yet so amazing. I’m sure it has to do with having 1 pickup only. Phil X mentioned this many times. No pull from another pickup. Even switched off it matters. He might be right…
Yeah I love my 1 P-90 LP Jr. DC! I'm not sure if I notice a difference in the magnetic attraction of the strings v.s. a 2 pickup guitar, but I found I almost NEVER used the neck pickup on my Telecaster, and already had a 2 humbucker LP Standard, so 1 bridge P-90 seemed to make a lot of sense.
Also CHEAPER than the 2 pickup version!
I guess scientifically there's probably a little pull. But I found the wiring and extra pots made the difference. I cut all the wiring except one volume on a Les Paul and it made a big difference. I think there's bleed happening.
