Nice battle with the carp, definitely a surprise on the lure, not something they generally go for! Not a bad day all around! It’s been a tough summer, some good days, a lot of skunk days. And now so many of the reservoirs are drained a bunch. Fish on brother!
Its so cool to see someones still using the old rainbow quantum reels. I always felt like they were made for TV given that they came out during the heyday of fishing on ESPN. How'd you find a custom handle?
lol, a fellow quantum head!? That brand is how I cope with not being able to buy Doyo here in the states. The Catalyst, Energy, and Tour PTi/PTiA reels were the best spinning reels of the 00s. The titanium bail and magnetic bail "spring" are a chefs kiss to this day. Seeing what Quantum has become now makes me extremely sad. As far as the handle goes, any screw-in handle that fits modern Abu Garcia spinning reels will also fit screw-in Quantum reels going back to the PTiA generation (06-current).
@@sydshanshala Interesting. Thanks for the info about the handle, the rubber they used for the original stock knobs on these reels hasnt held up well here down south. What is Doyo?
Doyo is the designer and manufacturer of Quantum Lew's Abu and many other US brands. These companies order their reels from a catalog of Doyo's designs and simply pick the color and appointments. They're based in Korea
Ive caught some nice smallies and largies out there. Great little spot.
