You should read Raja Ram Mohan Roy’s letter to the Asiatic society arguing against the Gurukal system and in favour of a Western education. I think we went a little too Western but we cannot deny the benefits of learning from others and we should always endeavor to do so in the future. I had some elder relatives in the INA led by Netaji who were never inducted into the Indian Army after we attained independence. They lived a life of indignity and pittance as the then ruling political party branded them as antisocials who in the name of INA created disharmony in the society. The British massacred INA POWs in thousands in an area called Neelgunge, near Belghoria in the suburbs of Kolkata which none mentions. There are similar brutal incidents that happened in Budge Budge, near Kolkata during the Naval rebellion.

History is not likely to be ever recorded absolutely objectively. In spite of great intellectual honesty a certain amount of authors' bias is bound to creep in. History can never be completely comprehensive too. It will contain more records that align with authors bias. But one thing is for sure, this bias is likely to more pronounced in the historians who champion the cause of those who did not participate in India's freedom struggle. I think that should be quite obivious.

I am a great admirer of your achievements in the military and as an expert in matters of War, but unfortunately, I do not share many of your views when it comes to history. My opinion of Romila Thapar has never changed. As one of the principal historians of India from the time of Independence, she has done an excellent job. She has been more brave than a soldier and faced all the abuses single handedly against one of the most aggressive people on the continent. She has stood her ground. I salute her. When I think of how we managed to get our independence, we wonder whether it is true or not. It was so complicated. But somehow India was born. I am sure you know the role of Ambedkar in the division of India. This gentleman did not belong to the oppressed class, but he led them. At the time of independence, the Hindus were 50% of the population, the rest was made up by tribals and SC's. Ambedkar wanted a separate country for the SC/STs. But he would not get it. After some cajoling, he accepted that the ST/SCs would come under the ''Hindu'' umbrella, but with advantages. In turn, the entire ST/SC communities would be deemed to come under the ''Arya Samaj''. By one stroke of the pen, this entire community was converted into Hindus. This was the biggest conversion fraud perpetrated by the leaders of India. Thus we have what is called the Hindu majority, when in reality, they are not the majority. I am a firm believer in the Aryan Invasion. I have been brought up in the army. My father served in what is now Pakistan at Abbotabad, Naushera, Rawalpindi and Quetta with the Royal Indian Artillery. He came to India after the partition. I am an amateur military historian and an amateur archaeologist. I work on the Indus script. I have followed many of the wars after 1971 on my short wave radio. One of the most painful things I saw after we left the army, was how the high caste Hindus and Christians treated the oppressed people. It is going on everywhere. People are quiet. I support Romila Thapar because she has said what she wanted to say and because it was true and she has always stood by it. She has said that there was an Aryan Invasion. Even the British General Mortimer Wheeler was scared to say that there was an Aryan Invasion and so was the guy called Ambedkar. Good for them, they said what they had to say.

You should read Raja Ram Mohan Roy’s letter to the Asiatic society arguing against the Gurukal system and in favour of a Western education. I think we went a little too Western but we cannot deny the benefits of learning from others and we should always endeavor to do so in the future. I had some elder relatives in the INA led by Netaji who were never inducted into the Indian Army after we attained independence. They lived a life of indignity and pittance as the then ruling political party branded them as antisocials who in the name of INA created disharmony in the society. The British massacred INA POWs in thousands in an area called Neelgunge, near Belghoria in the suburbs of Kolkata which none mentions. There are similar brutal incidents that happened in Budge Budge, near Kolkata during the Naval rebellion.

History is not likely to be ever recorded absolutely objectively. In spite of great intellectual honesty a certain amount of authors' bias is bound to creep in. History can never be completely comprehensive too. It will contain more records that align with authors bias. But one thing is for sure, this bias is likely to more pronounced in the historians who champion the cause of those who did not participate in India's freedom struggle. I think that should be quite obivious.
Thank you General Bakshi for your bold stand. I am a great admirer of your achievements in the military and as an expert in matters of War, but unfortunately, I do not share many of your views when it comes to history. My opinion of Romila Thapar has never changed. As one of the principal historians of India from the time of Independence, she has done an excellent job. She has been more brave than a soldier and faced all the abuses single handedly against one of the most aggressive people on the continent. She has stood her ground. I salute her.
When I think of how we managed to get our independence, we wonder whether it is true or not. It was so complicated. But somehow India was born. I am sure you know the role of Ambedkar in the division of India. This gentleman did not belong to the oppressed class, but he led them. At the time of independence, the Hindus were 50% of the population, the rest was made up by tribals and SC's. Ambedkar wanted a separate country for the SC/STs. But he would not get it. After some cajoling, he accepted that the ST/SCs would come under the ''Hindu'' umbrella, but with advantages. In turn, the entire ST/SC communities would be deemed to come under the ''Arya Samaj''. By one stroke of the pen, this entire community was converted into Hindus. This was the biggest conversion fraud perpetrated by the leaders of India. Thus we have what is called the Hindu majority, when in reality, they are not the majority.
I am a firm believer in the Aryan Invasion. I have been brought up in the army. My father served in what is now Pakistan at Abbotabad, Naushera, Rawalpindi and Quetta with the Royal Indian Artillery. He came to India after the partition. I am an amateur military historian and an amateur archaeologist. I work on the Indus script. I have followed many of the wars after 1971 on my short wave radio.
One of the most painful things I saw after we left the army, was how the high caste Hindus and Christians treated the oppressed people. It is going on everywhere. People are quiet.
I support Romila Thapar because she has said what she wanted to say and because it was true and she has always stood by it. She has said that there was an Aryan Invasion.
