I know Kendall has an obligation to go only off of the facts rather than hearsay. During that time James was able to file for Termination of Marie’s parental rights in 2013 on the grounds that she had disappeared.Him and Tonya were then able to legally adopt grace, which is why they still have full custody even after his conviction.

They are married so by law she has rights to the child. Just like in some states if a woman gets pregnant by somebody other than her husband, her husband still has rights to that child.
I think she had a hard conversation with wanting to keep her baby as it got closer to time for her to deliver and afterwards. The pastor's wife told the husband to kill her while she was away shopping so as not to be involved. The pastor tried to talk her baby mama out of keeping the baby for herself and he became enraged and went through with killing her. Any agreement for the baby to stay with the pastor's wife and family should be null and void after conviction and she should go to the sister or someone in the bio family. It's cruel to the baby to make her be raised by the family of the guy who killed and grow up not getting to be close to her moms family who was selfishly ripped away from her. 15 years is a slap in the face to the family on top of not getting to raise the baby. I hope they all have extremely irritating days for the rest of their lives. (Ex. Stepping on leggos, shafting in public with no bathroom nearby, paper cuts in their finger crotches, UTI's and kidney stones, cat pee on EVERYTHING😂) feel free to add more. That's my opinion.
With your first paragraph, I could also see the mom getting understandably enraged (possibly struggling with post-partum?) which then caused the pastor to get enraged and kill her. Or maybe he realized there was no convincing her, and that the only way he thought he could have the baby and salvage what's left of his marriage was through murder. No matter what exactly happened, it's still so messed up. I feel for her family and the little baby.

@aliceepalermo5047 maybe companies but definitely not individual people. If it's private property the pigs have no right to those cameras or their footage. It's used to deter property theft not catch murders on the side walk. So who cares if they work or not? A lot of people even just have dummy cameras just to deter crime. For Grace I mean
They are married so by law she has rights to the child. Just like in some states if a woman gets pregnant by somebody other than her husband, her husband still has rights to that child.
Because Tonya adopted the baby. Legally, Tonya is the child’s mother.
Not saying, I agree with it… But that’s the law.
It seems insane that the justice system didn't place the child with her mother's family.
Hot pillows, incorrect meals every time they order from somewhere, suspicious ongoing illnesses…. The list goes on🤣🤣 thanks for making me giggle at the end of this tragedy
Tick bites whenever James and/or Tanya steps out of the house; lemon cars; credit theft every year; long-term Covid…
@@82hnlamwhat are lemon cars?
i appreciate the respectful way you always cover these cases. no jokes, no lighthearted tone, just straight story and facts. you show the victims the utmost respect. ❤
What is the back story of the pastor's relationship with a women in the Philippians, getting her pregnant and than taking the child to America? Very tragic so many people took advantage on so many levels
Guessing that the girl's mother was a hooker.
Getting her pregnant THEN (not THAN) taking her child to America.
THEN: What happens next
THAN: Comparing

Stop it! This is not a grammar channel. In comparison to the events of this case, grammar lessons are beyond irrelevant. Your need to nit pick reveals a lot about you.
Even if she is innocent she shouldn’t have the baby
The whole problem with security cameras never working is honestly terrifying for me. It’s sad how many families would have closure if someone would just fix a camera when it breaks how hard is that ugh
honestly makes me wonder if someone pays them off to destroy the footage before the cops come. then again, might be my brain rotting from watching so many crime shows.
I assume most cameras either aren’t working or aren’t connected to internet
People and companies should face civil liability for their cameras not working
@@aliceepalermo5047lol good one, fining people for cameras they bought themselves and that are on their own property.
@aliceepalermo5047 maybe companies but definitely not individual people. If it's private property the pigs have no right to those cameras or their footage. It's used to deter property theft not catch murders on the side walk. So who cares if they work or not? A lot of people even just have dummy cameras just to deter crime. It's absolutely ridiculous to fine individual people for something they're doing for themselves. If that slippery slope starts rolling before you know it it'll be illegal to not have a camera. It's a stupid idea.
Marie's family should have that baby NOT Tanya
Why does that woman get to keep the baby??? What claim does she have on it, it’s not even her baby at all!!!!
She adopted the baby. So yes… Legally, the baby is hers.
It’s ridiculous, yes. But it’s the law.
15 years for murder is shocking 😢. He couldn’t even tell her family the truth about what happened.
Tanya is not completely innocent here.
Ummmm if she was breastfeeding, she would have been limited in medication. Most of the medication for bipolar can’t be taken while pregnant or nursing.
Depends on how severe and what the doctor thinks is safe/necessary for the patient(mother)
So if he gets out in 4 years will he get back together with his wife? So Grace will have to live with the man who murdered her mother! Absolutely disgraceful. The wife definitely knew something and should not have custody of Grace x
Honestly, this case is horrible for so many reasons.James got off with a slap on the wrist and to make it worse, he didn’t actually confess to how he ended Marie’s life. How he still got a plea deal when he was clearly lying about how she died is beyond me. Also, Tanya… I have no words for her. I don’t believe she knew nothing about the murder and now she’s raising Grace!!?? That is abominable.
Everyone is offered a plea deal because trial is expensive and criminals are more likely to get off on trial if the case can’t be proved beyond a reasonable doubt
cameras not working in an airport of all things is shocking
Marie's love for karaoke just reflects her Filipino heritage. It also shows how fun she was as a person. ❤
They take that karaoke seriously. Just no "My Way," EVER lol
@@CarpeNutella if karaoke is an Olympic sport, we'll be taking them gold medals home. 😂 and yes, the My Way thing is sooo true. We call it the shanker song lol.
I live in the town this happened in. Honestly, I am not surprised the system is corrupt here. A lot of unfair cases go on. It’s the good ole boy system
Kendall, I listened to you everyday even before you were married. I’ve missed podcasts for a season of my life & am so happy to listen to you again. You are so good & very beautiful. Thank you for sharing your talents.
They shouldn't have left that baby with that woman knowing she more than likely at least knew what her husband had done, I don't think Tanya should have that child, it's so sad.
Wow..the people who were responsible for Marie’s murder get to raise her daughter…that just makes me sick. I really think Tanya knew about the murder..I don’t see how she couldn’t have known..and I can’t understand how murderers are able to have custody of that child
if you can know your husband murdered this woman and still keep her baby instead of giving custody to her family, you definitely have something to do with it and lack empathy.. my opinion. the baby should be with her family
Tonya is probably the one who called in the crime stoppers tip
I was thinking the same thing.
No, she was in on it
@@staceejohnson5911 That doesn't mean that she didn't call it in. She may have had enough of the guilt and figured she could get away scot free--which she did.
That’s what I thought as well
@@melanie62954 Also, the dude was losing his marbles and a liability because of that.
There’s no way she wasn’t involved or didn’t know?! How would you not notice that she was missing or that there’s a pile of dirt in your backyard??
I would say the wife knew. This man dug a hole in the back yard deep enough that they couldn't find Marie. You know how much work that would take? Meanwhile, the wife is taking care of a newborn? She didn't notice his absence? Oh & then she agrees to attempt to just up & move in the middle of the night? That's suspicious ...
Tania is just as guilty and went shopping as an alibi!! Also, I believe that the Flanders family shouldn't have anything to do with that child!!!
It's so disgusting they got to keep her baby & her sister didn't get her.
Kendall, you are such a beautiful human. Thank you for bringing social media awareness and support to so many families left neglected & unheard. I’ve been watching your content for a few years now- inspiring me to start up my own research and channel soon. We love you. 🤍🦋
I’ve never been this early. I just have to say, your videos are constantly in the background of my life. Please don’t stop representing these people that no longer have a voice, and bringing justice to the families! Love your videos
I love that you make donations that our departed would love and in there name
I think you’re truly a beautiful soul and you raise every victim and survivor up with your stories! They aren’t stories I know, they are someone’s lives but to us they are a story you tell and it makes us all think and feel and open our minds, thank you for your work and your passion
Your intro video is literally my favorite thing ever it’s so ethereal and cozy
Thank you!
What hapoens when the child grows up and finds out what happened.
The video of James talking about wanting to chock the life out of someone is creepy…
Not normal at all but definitely not in a sermon!!!
Isn’t he supposed to “turn the other cheek”? Disturbing.
chock 😅

Is it normal for US pastors to talk mainly about themselves? I only saw the two clips of him, but he was only blabbering about himself. Same with that JP dude from Mica's case.
It’s my first time to the channel and I love it ! Great work and looks like you little friend back there love your story time too🥰
I love love love the way you cover these cases it brings light to those who so desperately need it 😭❤️
Why are the cams always broken in all these damn cases?!!!!!!
Hey Kendall, I am just going through a rough couple days and just listening to your voice is really soothing. Thank you for that ❤
I hear that girl. Stay strong!
How could she have dug all that whole without her being aware? She knew and 15 yrs is a joke
People like this are experts at spotting people's weaknesses and using it against them....they are predators who can sniff out the weak and isolate them...
every time you say destin, fort walton, or pensacola my heart drops because i grew up on the emerald coast in navarre Florida🥺 these cases hit so much harder for me, prayers to everyone involved
The cameras not working again making me so frustrated. Seriously so important that people have them working..it’s like nobody cares.
It’s maddening
What happens when someone is really innocent and the damn cameras aren’t working? Now that’s scary…
When you said Tanya is raising her child , my jaw DROPPED. BYE! Disgusting
The wife definitely knew something. With a hole that deep you don't not notice it at all. It would have either taking days for him to dig it or heavy machinery. There's no way she just didn't notice
Why didn’t Marie’s family fight for the baby and get custody of her?
Marie’s case has stuck with me for years since hearing about it. Thank you for bringing awareness to her loss and the utter injustice of her remains not being found at first, not every party being brought to justice, and her sweet baby Grace not being raised by her mothers family. God bless ❤️
How disgusting that when he gets out baby grace will probably still be a minor and he will be raising her after he killed her mother 😡 that’s so messed up and my heart breaks for that young girl.
Baby Grace is 13 at the moment
Kendall getting sassy towards the perpetrators & saying "wtf" 😂😂is the light-hearted touch these dark cases need ❤
Hi Kendall. I just really love and appreciate your channel. To date I was listening to you on Spotify and thought I'd have a look at your UA-cam channel and low and behold there is a gorgeous ginger fur baba with you just chilling!! Awesome little addition!
Thank you for your channel and your coverage of cases that many of us would never have heard of elsewhere. I live in South Africa and so, I always wish I could also find a way to share when especially you cover a case of a missing persons... I guess you never know - perhaps sharing here could be a chain reaction of sharing to someone who is back in the States.
Anyway, thank you again for your fantastic channel.

I am here almost uncomfortably early. Yay! Thank you for raising awareness, being the voice some of the victims never had. We appreciate you!
I remember seeing this case on ID. I forgot what show, but I was so angry for Marie and her family. May she continue resting peacefully.
Just left UA-cam because I had no new episodes of any of my shows ... and soon as I clicked out, you posted. Perfect timing. 🍃 and TCKR ... best combo 👌 🙌

This is extremely messed up. I can’t image what that child will go through once she’s old enough to find out what her mothers story is. And how lost she will feel knowing that the person that raised her all her life could potentially be her moms killer . This is insane. She should be with her mothers family!

Usually the gruesome cases are the heaviest. However because the child is still being raised by the people involved with her death, this just makes this case so much more heavy than any case I've heard

Great Falls, Montana?
The guy who killed his wife after a night out of drinking?

Isn’t that the one where the husband killed his wife, while on their honeymoon here in Australia, up on our beautiful Great Barrier Reef? If it is that one was truly heartbreaking also. He only got something like 18months for it here, because police both here and in the US couldn’t find enough evidence of actual murder, even though everybody absolutely thought/knew it was. the bear hug makes it sound like it was accidental and it definitely wasn't, he said it himself that he got scratched by marie during that final argument
They are both guilty as hell.
the fact that tonya isn’t even biologically related to the child but is raising the child is absolutely beyond me. who allowed that to happen?
In some states, if your spouse has a child during your marriage with someone else, you have rights to that baby.
