“That’s the coolest part about being a Christian, man, is that everyone’s got their own different flavor. If you’re serving Jesus, you’re good with me, it doesn’t bother me at all.”
Amen, brother. I wish we could all have that attitude.
Agreed
There was an elderly lady in my our small church choir years ago who sang terribly off key, but we loved her too much to tell her! 🙂
That was very kind. You gave her a gift by allowing her to express herself without inhibition.
@@marksnyder6120 that might have been me…lol
Our former pastor's wife used to sing really high. Especially, one congregational song we sang. She moved away to be near her family. She's 92. My former youth pastor and one of my friends husband sings this part she sang like her when we sing this song. We've gotten used to their shenanigans but our visiting evangelists and missionaries haven't. One of them asked who the ladies with the high voices were Everybody died laughing. He was so confused.
Sang from her heart. Ephesians. Tone deaf, most likely. Knew a girl that was tone deaf years ago. She sang from her heart at church. M arr
That is the very meaning of make a joyful noise unto the Lord. It is worship and I am sure that He likes it just fine.
Worship in Spirit and in truth. The voice matters little after that.
We had a lady named Mrs Rachel. Mom would sit me beside her while she went up and led congregational singing. The problem was that one never knew when Mrs Rachel would jump up and let out a shout!! IT WAS TERRIFYING!!! I tried to watch her for signs … you know … like …a pressure cooker has a jiggler!!! She always had a ladies cloth handkerchief in her hand, and when she’d shout, she’d wave it. That confused me because it seemed there was Victory in the shout, and surrender with white flag. Now, as an older lady myself, I understand that in surrender we win the Victory!!! And that reminds me of “one of” my mom’s favorite songs. Thanks for all you do…we need the laughter!! God Bless. 🙏🏻
😂😂😂
This gentleman and the African American comedian are excellent and talented. One does not have to curse every three seconds to be funny or do a bit. Well done.
and of course Tim Hawkins and Leanne Morgan!
@@goudagirl6095Don't forget Henry Cho!😂❤
"Farm to table drumming" 😂
We had a “ballerina” dancing in the spirit and a Whirling Dervish . I was so confused my first couple visits. I was raised Baptist
@Simple_Worship_GuitarSpinning quickly.
@Simple_Worship_Guitar a believer in God that worships him by spinning and spinning!
After I married my husband, we visited his home town church. That week the worship leader was absent and since I was a worship leader, I was asked if I could lead the worship. This was back in the 80’s. Little did I know there was a precious little lady who sat on the front row and loved to sing. She had a very strong accent and an operatic voice. She loved to sing Vibrato (her voice vibrated between notes for those who are unfamiliar with the Latin word). The most memorable part of her singing was that she sang loud with gusto and was off key!
I started leading the first song and she entered in with such enthusiasm that I nearly fell off my high heeled shoes! It kind of threw me for a loop and I had to catch up with the music. 😂. I loved that lady and it is one of my fondest memories. ❤
It's beautiful how you just loved her for who she was & let her be joyful in her own way!
@@Stacy1368 thank you Stacy, I love people who are enthusiastic worshippers. My daughter-in-law’s cousin sings with total enthusiasm and sings off key. I try to sit by her every Sunday. I can just imagine that God is sitting on the throne with a twinkle in his eye looking at her adoringly. He sees the love.
@Seher-z1v Thank you for the correction. I had a ministroke following an auto accident and I am still re-learning what I lost. So, I really appreciate you.
As long as it's a joyful noise, it's still worshipping.
@@kathleenbeach4839 Sing to the Lord with joy and gladness! It was music to His ear. 😊

I live in Florida where he is giving this talk, but I was raised in Oklahoma, the state where he's talking about the tambourine lady being tazed. He is absolutely hilarious!
A woman in OK was tazed? Lol. I live here. Craxy is where u r!

"Will Smith will not be slapping me!"🤣🤣
As a 10 year old child who was raised in the Catholic church where the only movement was getting up and down on the kneeling benches and no one sang but the choir. My aunt took me to her childhood church way back in the hills of Kentucky. There were no pews, just wooden benches with no backs. In that day it was what was called a "holy roller" church. The lady in front of us got in the spirit and started rolling on the floor and under the bench. I jumped up and ran out of the church screaming. My aunt had to chase me down in the parking lot. I wouldn't go near a protestant church for years because I thought that they were all like that. Today I am a Methodist minister. No rolling in my church. lol
I grew up in a Holy roller church and I loved it.
True story, our pastor asked if anyone would like to come up and sing a song. Someone brought a lady with them and she got up and sang All My Exes Live In Texas! 😂A cappella of course!
😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks for the belly laugh!
You win! Hilarious!🎉
When we pastored in Colorado years ago, a visitor got up and sang Achey Breaky Heart.
I have always been an animal fanatic and when I was about 7, I learned how to keep old ladies at bay. I had caught a little Garter snake and took it to church in it's mason jar house. She came up to me and asked how I was and before she had the chance, as a known cheek pincher, I pulled out my snake and said see what I caught! Well..... She passed out cold and I heard my Dad utter the dreaded words of "meet me in the bedroom when we get home". So safe to say, neither one of us came out of that one unscathed 😂😂
This belongs in a stand-up routine!!!
I'm a kinda old lady that used to catch garter snakes ,frogs, turtles insects when I was a kid, so I would have been delighted. 😄
Shades of Mississippi Squirrel Revival!! 😂😂
@@maryleibfried2104 I have 5 kids and so far the 4 that are married, have blessed me with 10 Grands. I was a vet asst that helped my 3 vet friends in exchange for vet care. I had many exotic animals and numerous snakes, as well as domestic rescues and wildlife rehabs, so my little ones want stories, often lol. I plan to keep doing catch and release with my Grands, teaching them everything I know and make sure they keep the love of animals going for generations to come 👍🏻❤️. If only there were more out there, passing things down like the stuff I do, and not..... Well, I'll leave the fill in the blank up to you 😁🤔. Otherwise they might kick me off of here lol

I never knew Christian comedy could be so funny! Then again, this is one of the first Christian comedy videos I've ever watched 🤔
@@adamtomecko6817 they are out there, Christian comedians. This one is really good. Although he is nearing retirement, you might also check out Jeff Allen. And, although he wasn't solely a Christian comedian, but is a devout Christian, check out Bill Engvall. Also in retirement now, he is still active on youtube. His bit about almost got kicked out of church is funny. A lot of Christian comedians have a two pronged approach to comedy. The humor doesn't really change. But, the delivery kind of varies depending on whether their audience is church-based or secular-based and their agents make this clear to the comic when they book the gig...usually. Jeff Allen has an amusing sketch when his agent/manager failed to tell him which gig was which. 🤣 But, the bottom line is there are clean comedians out there and some are Christians. Even the ones who primarily perform in churches realize how far to take the comedy and what line, even in churches, not to cross. They are truly gifted and we are blessed because, even in church, it can be ok to laugh sometimes. 🤭 😇
@@adamtomecko6817 also check out Jeff Allen.
Check out Tim Hawkins and Bob Smiley too! 😊

Big hat lady.
"whew" guy (dry whistle sound)
We have a "That's right" guy during the sermon..
We used to go to a Pentecostal church. They did an altar call and some people went up. A female pastor was praying for one of the women and kept trying to ease her back. She did this several times until they both went tumbling and the Pastor's shoe flew off 😆. One of my friends was sitting elsewhere and she was laughing so hard her friend next to her had to put a coat over her 🤣. Never a dull moment in that church 🤣.
What is an altar call? 🤔
Ppl go forward, to the altar, to accept Jesus as their Saviour. Publicly bc Jesus chose all His disciples publicly & He says if you acknowledge me, I'll acknowledge you before my Father who is in heaven. We must accept Jesus publicly & not be ashamed or embarrassed.
@@debraethan8920 I see. Thank you 🙏
@@kellysong2256it never occurred to me that someone wouldn't know what an altar call was because I grew up in a pentecostel church I guess. I'm glad you asked though it gave me a different perspective.❤
@dmmac1985 I grew up as a Mormon (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints), and our services are very calm and reverent. The only musical instrument is an organ used to play hymns. A Penacostal church service sounds exotic and fascinating to me! 😄
This guy is fantastic 👏👏
I'm the lady that's done the Jericho walks!😂😂
Cage-free drumming is where it's at 😂
Lol! The Message Bible!🤣 But poor tambourine lady.😸
I grew up in a nondenominational Pentecostal church where my Mammaw played the tambourine. Thanks for the memories.
This is one of Jonnie's best! I laughed so hard I almost fell out of my chair.
Glad we still have that old time ❤
In the Assembly of God when I was little a lady would run around all the pews, then she would reach out and touch some of us. I did not want to be touched so I started sitting in the middle of the pews!
Duck duck goose😂
Why would she do that? Wouldn't that interrupt the Liturgy?
My sister and I would go with a friend to an Assembly of God church sometimes. When they had the altar call, we would leave through a side door, walk through a hallway to the pastor's house and eat dill pickles.🥴😁
@@brendawood3429 My hometown was half Pentecostal. All us "unsaved" guys wanted a Pentecostal girlfriend. They weren't allowed to smoke, drink, swear, or dance, and they were totally repressed and horny af. And their parents were gone for hours on a Sunday night. And, at that age, you could get laid twice while her parents were doing their voodoo thing. I'm 62 now. I can't manage to do it twice in the same week these days. But I have my memories. Lol
You know, sometimes it’s ok. It’s a lot better than not being in church at all.
Funny clean comedy! Love it!
Glad you enjoyed it
“But stay ye on the beat.” 🤣 I go to a lively church and you’re allowed to do pretty much whatever you want to praise the Lord, as long as it is in an appropriate manner and clearly not just pure flesh. But drawing attention to yourself and ignoring authority is over the line. 😳
The best story I’ve witnessed was my brother who jumped up to raise his hands and he sat back down so hard that he broke the old wooden pew. 😶 The pastor of that church we were visiting cautions him at the beginning of every service when we go back, to not break any more pews.
Zapped and sprayed for tambourine? Oh, my. Good thing she didn't bust out the bagpipes.
I’m non-denominational now, but I was baptized in a Pentecostal church and attended there for a while so I am familiar with some of their antics lol. And, I love the tambourine! 😊
Jonnie you definitely have the call of God to worship and to preach,,, everyone in that room was full of joy,,,, that's fellowship
In the Message Bible 🤣🤣🤣 Love it.
The message bible is a false bible. Please be careful.

This is exactly what I needed after a rough day yesterday. 😂😂😂
The first time I went to a Catholic church, I noticed they put babies and their parents in a soundproof room in the back. Why? In case the babies cried.
Then the first time I went to a Baptist church I found myself at a party! Singing, dancing, babies could cry, whatever! It was wonderful!
I was raised in a Lutheran church. It was all walks of life, babies could cry. I called it "The you're okay, I'm okay, we're in this together church".
But, the best party was at the Baptist church, so I took my two small children. They had never seen anything like this either. They loved it too! I sent them to Bible school there after that.
They didn't care if we were of any religion, they were loving and sweet and hilarious!
Oh, wow. We had a Catholic priest here who said he could talk over any baby or child. No exclusion there. The best church I ever went to was a Baptist church. Lots of reverence for God. Also, if someone performed music badly, they would "forget" to ask them to perform again.
🙄 Catholic churches don't put babies in boxes. Some of them have cry rooms that parents are welcome to use if they feel the need, but many Catholic churches have done away with those completely or use them as sensory rooms. Our motto is "if the church isn't crying, it's dying." We want those young families at Mass!
I've never seen anything like that in the Baptist church I grew up in. Sure would like to though.
@@ReginaJames-e5o Oh, it was wonderful. They had Christ centered preaching every Sunday. Of note, they were a little different from their overseeing body, which tends to be too, too conservative.
@@Bethanybakery Not in my experience. No babies were in the pews.
All churches are different. Depending on who is running the service.

Sounds like the Church of God of Prophecy. Been there, done that. Preachers kid. Mom was a runner. Dad was a pew jumper. Honest. Used to break out in hives before 2 week revivals. Scared to death as a kid.
Yep, I can see getting hives. Or running away from home, even.
My friend went to an authentic snake handling church, she left home at 14 for some reason.
Not a runaway, exactly, she went to live with family in "civilization" ( her word not mine) . He dad was weird but nice but her mom was a religious fanatic.
I loved my friend then and until she died a few years ago, so I did visit her home frequently.
Your comment made me remember how she would not, probably could not eat on Saturday and still suffered unpleasant intentional revolt against the environment.
I was raised in church of God of prophecy
LMAO! The way you describe your parents...still smiling here

My church doesn’t have a lady like that. What we did have, in the nineties, were skits. Many, many skits. At one point, one of our young men dressed up as Saul and came running down from the ‘upper room’ (where we had the youth Sunday school) with a staple gun to symbolise his efforts to persecute the Christians… I may still be traumatised… 😂
And then there was the guy who spoke on the parable of the sower, throwing unpopped popcorn kernels as his visual aid… that was painful in more ways than one.
