I originally had this Canadian Standard (Custom) restored with its OG specs back in 2007-8 and sold it before I saw it finished. Did a lot of research before we started the resto and I believe I still have the VW Birth Cert. Candian Customs have features of both Standard and Deluxe. It is very rare to find these 50's Canadian Custom with a rag top. I also have a 1953 Candian Custom with Rag Top that was Cal looked in the 70's...and still that way with diamond tuck and green shag carpet! Look bug Looking forward to getting reunited with the 56!
That's awesome news
whoa chris, I just did a double take. at first glance this looks so much like my diamond grey 58 rag
Ha but yours looks way better Bruce! 😅
I think if keedub didn't want the Bug back, it probably would of Sold for less. It's Beautiful.
I was watching this 56. Impressive @ 50k.
Omg...I didn't know a standard came with a ragtop....slick
Hello, Beetle 66, No coat of arms on the hood, wheels without ventilation, speedometer up to 120Km/h, rear window bigger than the Beetle 65 in Brazil. Incorrectly assembled engine, non-standard linings. From 67 in Brazil, 1300 engine, ventilated wheels, speedometer up to 140 km/h.
January of 56 day went round on the ragtop
I think the Brazilian bugs are beetles to they need to be in that category
Hi it's me again have you ever made a video on how to install a one piece window kit because my windows just keeps move side to side all the rubbers are missing and stuff don't know anything about California style windows because when you're driving down the road with the windows down the glass inside the door just be rattling
I haven't because "I" myself never did that conversion. We always stuck with the vent window.
When did they end the covered headlights?
66 in usa
Hi Chris...you mentioned the crappy brake parts.. can you suggest a good source for quality brake parts ? I think the original rust free unrestored cars are going to start bringing some serious prices too... they're only original once...even if they need to be worked on mechanicly to put back on the road..... and no separating the pan and body for metal repair.....saves thousands ! I need to put mine back on the road and don't want to buy crappy brake parts...any suggestions?
Check with my guy Dave at Bugcity in CT.
@@classicvwbugs thanx, will check him out !
Were the towel bar bumpers on the Canadian cars? I thought those bumpers were only on US imports.
Good question, I think you are right about that.
Wow, not even original. The seats look terrible.
You should stay off the internet and go build one yourself. This hobby is not for you if you expect every builder to restore to original.
@@BroadwaySamFlowers thanks for your suggestion, but I have a totally original 56 oval beetle. No need to build one. I will stay on the internet, thanks.
Well now I just feel like shit...because I want to build a cal look with shaved chrome@@peterobertson2086
