Gottam, Bobby is so articulate. The perfect narrator to Prince’s life and art. He includes all the frailties and missteps and still with respect for an icon. I like how he uses the word magical. Prince was and is that.
Prince was the best man... the dude would give his all in concert for 3 or 4 hours and then go to a local club and jam some more, made tons of money and stayed in his own home town and built a home where everybody could see it and he's let you know when he was home
First song of his I remember was "I wanna be your lover" when I was in 2nd grade. I was hooked. I was there in Oakland, March 4 2016 for a Piano and Mic concert. The day he died was a blur and I turned off my phone. many friends that I hadn't spoke to for a while called to share condolences and I never met the man. I agree 100% Bobby, It's a celebration and overwhelming gratitude for being alive when Prince was here and blessed to see him perform live throughout his career. And Thank You Bobby Z. Because of you I got a drum kit. I even tried to put the snare behind me. Haha.
This was awesome interview with Bobby Z on the Jason show. Revolution was my favorite band with Prince. Bobby Z had a beautiful and wonderful friendship with Prince. I really enjoyed this very much. 💜💜🤗🤗
Great interview and host. Always loved Bobby Z. Remember first seeing the 1999 video back in the day and loved his stern look. Fitted perfectly with the glamour and funk.
Music nerd alert: the drums from 1999 were programmed on a Linn Drum machine. In all fairness, Prince loved to overdub live high hats over the drum programming to add a human feel to the mechanized beat.
True but were triggered by Bobby as he innovated the ability to trigger through the LM-1 drum machine through fabricated MIDI ports into the wires plug into triggers placed on the acoustic and or Simmons electronic drum pads! This tech didn't exist before Bobby brought it into the forefront for Prince's sound! That's why Bobby is a great drummer not because of all the rolls and over the top solo's that the so-called great drummer do. He's tight in the pocket and helped create a sound that forever changed Pop music, culture and also contemporary rock music! Which is why a lot of the Rock genre apologists hate or very least STILL to this day don't want to give Prince his FULL credit for who he was and what he did ti even alter the way musicians /artists get credit for their worth!!!

Bobby Z. Is an amazing drummer and also such a nice guy.
I'll grieve for him the rest of my life.
Prince is loved all over the world and will be for a very long time.

I liked his look in Raspberry beret!
I thought prince was a legend also when he was alive. Always
Same here. It's weird seeing the world wake up to him now. But it's good
In the video, 1999 Bobby Z looks like a French romantic with a pencil thin mustache. Here he looks like a regular guy.
Dyn Jarren I always like his look when he was in the Revolution, as well as the rest of the band. Best dressed musicians ever, 😎😎😎😎

God got Wendy's periods reversed... About every 28 days she starts acting nice.. Lasts about a weekend.
Dr.Fink said that line, not Bobby Z.
@@toddbennett7157 but Bobby kinda snorted when he said it ;-)
He looks like Kevin Pollack
Chris Moon.
