The term legend is overused but when it comes to The Revolution they truly are living legends .
Lisa was always my favorite, even though she stayed in the background.
I love them all. Great band, great people!
I’m still hurting over his death, He was a genius in his own right. The many many people he influenced. I’ve been a fan ever since he appeared on American bandstand. There will never be another Prince! May his soul continue to Rest In Peace. We love Prince!!!
Right on lisa.
I was a fan since I first heard LITTLE RED CORVETTE. The members of the Revolution are still hurting. "profound loss"
Prince literally bridged the gap between rock music and soul even further.
He was trying to bridge everything - it seemed. The pop sensibilities that are in there - are IN there along with funk and jazz, classical and YES, - rock.
Prince was a musical genius. R.I.P.
ABSOLUTELY RIGHT ABOUT PRINCE 🤴RIP 1958-2016!
Lisa's wearing the jacket... 💜💜💜💜💜❤️
Prince is the best ever no ARGUMENTS!! The Revolution created history
The Beatles, , Michael Jackson, James brown, and Gun's N" roses made real talented and amazing song writers, prince was not even on their level of these 4 amazing talented musicians these 4 entertaining. Musicians gave you a real show
Nate Timbario Prince is More talented then anyone in that group not named Paul McCartney
Michael Jackson is better you can't argue with that statistically
@@natetimbario5299 Prince was firing on as more cylinders than Mozart. He was Da Vinci level in many ways. Watch the trailer for Prince - Slave Trade, it details his ability to innovate anything he touched. Constant evolution until the very end.
Genius ..he did it all himself.no question
Lisa is still freaking cute
NawfsideHtown you got that right
Gonna Be A Beautiful Night
True.
Indeed
She's unbelievable. Such a sweet soul...
They walked with greatness for a long time...
I never thought we’d lose him so soon but what he left us with was absolutely priceless
Lisa is still sooo cute
Very genuine ppl. You can really feel the compassion and bond they had with him. All the respect to The Revolution and Prince🙏🏽💯
Lisa Coleman. Beautiful.
I saw The Revolution live back in late October. They put on an incredible show.
S/O to The Revolution~ #PRINCE was my 1st concert w/ Rick James ft. Tina M. Many celebrities can sing/dance/entertain, but how many could play as many instruments as #PRINCE & do the same? #IllWait. That's why #PRINCE was a #MusicalGenius hands down!!!
IM A LIVING LEGEND CUZ I GOT BRAGGING RIGHTS...MY MOM TOOK ME AND MY 2 BROTHERS TO SEE PURPLE RAIN AT SUNRISE CINEMA IN VALLEY STREAM,NY....BACK.IN 1984! I WAS 9...😅😅❤❤Yes I remember!
One of the best interviews.. with the Revolution... so many great stories... and great purple memories!
I hear their grief... On a smoother note, The World knows #PRINCE SPIRIT!!!
Miss prince :(
They jammed live last week, Mark Brown gave me a guitar pick during the show :)
He should gave you the Bass guitar so you can use the pick
The Revolution was his family - this is truly when he opened up to allowing others to influence
Well he was doing it before then with his bestie Andre and Dez
I am still jamming all his music as of today! Let’s go crazy is my favorite!!! But Purple Rain hits my soul!!
Michael Ealy would do a great job he has the look. I watched a movie the other night and actually thought this.
This is unreal . Im so glad i may get to see them. Thats the band . Love.
11:00 I laughed when Bobby Z said "Ben Gay is sponsoring our tour" and it made my back hurt.
THE Legendary Revolution
Oh wow how amazing, beautiful and emotional is this? God bless them all be loved everywhere. I always try to show my love to all and not just the main act, esp as I have grown older. Truth. Prince was a powerhouse. We all adored his music and stage presence. Ha cassettes, still have mine. Thank you all at Sway.
Where is WENDY at? Her and Lisa where my mother's favorite. They were great together....
I remember that..I was 6 in '83.. but I still remember my mom's love for those 2...
"Tom Cruise as Prince. No thank you."
Hilarious! 😂 I have always loved Lisa's sense of humor.
PLEASE DO AN ALBUM YOU GUYS!!!!
Can't imagine how it's feels playing music without him.they all r a unique band.
Well said Lisa!🤩
prince was before my time but he has some song I like
There are only 2 types of music. Good music and Bad music. Music is timeless when it's good. It will continue to resonate with a humans soul. Enjoy.
These people are very special to my life!!!
Happy to see them but so sad
:(
The band that fronted my coming of age years🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
A Legacy's The revelation! I Grow Up on All Of Them.Love Prince
Prince michealj Jackson James Brown All gone time is not ours but borrowed
THIS IS BIG!!!!!!
THANK YOU SWAY!🤩
PRINCE & THE REVOLUTION 4EVER!!!!!!
The Revolution was a whole movement.
Toni Wellons no, it was a group of musicians
A beautiful interview... hope the Revolution will always keep Prince's memory alight as he was so unique in his approach and artistry. Who else would record groundbreaking albums in a Minnesota warehouse? Please keep away the biopics, but not the music -- rehearsals and all. It is a shame that some didn't promote 'Piano and a Microphone', Prince's awesome piano rehearsal / work out session... a far better tribute to his legacy than any book of gossip. Lisa's contribution is very much appreciated. Please promote the right things about Prince... he was always about the music. Some thought he was just some silly dude in heels with a high pitched voice, but in fact he was a true master of his craft who worked his *'!?$* off to do what he loved.
Excellent interview. R.I.P. PRINCE -Gone But Never Ever Forgotten.
Great Interview. Thanks for having The Revolution on your show.
Highly Respectable Sway
Thank you for posting this interview. You can really feel the love and respect that all the members of the Revolution still have for Prince, as a person and as a musician. I've been a long life fan, when he passed away I immersed myself in his music again, for about 6 months all I played was Prince all day long. Then all of a sudden, I stopped and couldn't play any of his music for about a long time. It was too painful to think we would never hear or get to see his like again. Then just as suddenly as I stopped, this year I started playing his music again, and I got to rediscover that incredible run of all albums he recorded with the Revolution from 1999, Purple Rain, Around The World in A Day, Parade and It's Gonna Be a Beautiful Night from Sign O'The Times. and I fell in love with Prince all over again, but the thing that hit me the most is while listening was that you could really hear how much fun he was having when playing with the Revolution, so much joy and passion, humour, playfulness, funkiness, experimentation and all out creativity in the music.. God Bless you guys and God Bless Prince, thank you so much for the music !!!
*SideNote #SWAY it's real cool how everyone in the studio is involved with questions~
I MISSED PRINCE BUT HIS MUSIC LIVES ON REST IN PEACE PRINCE ROGERS NELSON SEND ME A COMMENT FROM RAYWIN HARRIS ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😎😎😎❤️
That was a badass segment. Thank you for that!
THANK YOU SWAY IM GLAD I FOUND THIS CHANNEL AND INTERVIEW WITH THE REVOLUTION PURPLE RULES!!!!
Respect ✌🏿🎼
The Beautiful One was written for Vanity!
L Kendrix, ikr? They will never admit it....but we know.
@@sheisawarenow3753 Even after he specifically said it in an interview in 2015. How does it even make sense as being about Susannah? JFC.
The song was for Vanity but was about Susannah.
@@Mwoods2272 They all said it here ^^^^
this was the best interview ive ever seen!!!!
They came to Reading Pa. (My home town) right after my mother passed, and they were great! I will always be grateful for the comfort they gave me just with that 1 concert in my little crappy town!!❤❤
I can't believe that I'm just seeing this video. Great interview Shay, continue the great work... you & your team
I love these guys!
Incredible!
Solid, well-paced radio interview.
Legendary The Revolution
Whio still watch purple rain movie 2020.
love you guys
The Band battling a Band from the same mind The Revolution and The Time poured out the musical mind that Prince shared with much more than mind could imagine, I truly appreciate the ride with them since day one and still find things in the music that's new. I honor and respect the musical family members of all Prince relatives in music and stage.
Great interview Sway! Thank you bro!
THE BEST!!
A great interview, thanks.
Is some of that applause sampled/canned? (I ask because the amount of clapping-sound does not add up to the amount of people we see throughout the studio. It sounds like FAR more)
Hi Everybody Prince Is Missed R I P Revolution You Guys To MeYou Are The Best Band He Had Keep Playing I'll Be There The Love Man Ernesto B Nyc🤗🤗
Great interview Sway!
Thank you
When you guys come to Washington DC . I miss prince
#PRINCE4EVER
A lovely interview.
The pretend-applause is deeply surreal!
To hear Lisa talk awesome.
Oh my! Lisa Coleman. I had such a huge crush on her. She's still beautiful.
Lisa is so shy and pretty and nice. Matt giving those hand gestures that make people even more nervous. Just hold tight and l let her get it out.
I was hoping to hear that "Purple Rain" piano to mic song! I was disappointed that it was cut out, but I understand that it could be a copyright issue. Great to see The Revolution, though one of the girls seems to be missing. Where was Wendy? The Revolution is legendary. I'll always love them and their work in helping to make the film 'Purple Rain' as magical as it remains to date. "Computer Blue" is a song I play when I just need to get in a better mood! It works and gets me dancing. Love it. Thank you for sharing this interview. Keep doing what you do. I did like and subscribe.
🎤🌹🎧👏🏻
Interview- Morris Day and The Thyme .... Sheila E
I want that jacket lisa is wearing!!!!!!!!!!!!
she plays the keyboards...she got a jacket reflecting that
They should’ve asked more questions about prince songs and more stories like about touring and fun times or Rick James and prince not liking each other or MJ etc. But anyway Good interview and I think the beautiful ones was about vanity...but only prince knows. RIP O(+> & Vanity 💜🕊 King Of Pop 🙏🏽
Yoooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sway interviewed me at the Apollo outside the day Prince passed away , trying to see if that footage was aired
I would love 2 see a biopic! Yezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I would like to hear the Revolution play when you were mine 🎶
I saw prince at the fox theater in Detroit back in 1996. I was yelling prince prince. My date moved away from me. I made prince smile. He knew that I was his biggest fan he also performed jam of the year. And he was performing songs from the crystal ball album. The place was jumping every one was dancing. People were wearing the prince jackets. Which could be worth a lot of money now.
All I can say I have cried knowing The Revolution goes on playing without him. I know it hurts because it hurt me.
Rest in Heaven Prince Rogers Nelson. You can never be replaced, nor could anybody want to try!!
💜💜💜💜
💕💕💕💕💕💪
SAD BUT GOOD
Lisa said thank you the same way it was said in the song take me with you. Must have been her. Or Appolonia.
Interesting history
💜
Prince was a leader! A real Alpha male!
Lot of musical history on the panel. No Wendy ?
Love this amazing thanks but Wheres Wendy?
We are all aging.
Did you know that Bobby Z here produced a whole entire Alexander O' Neal album called "Saga of a Married Man". It was Alex's last good album he made. It was the only album post-Jam & Lewis that was actually really good (Love Makes No Sense had Jam & Lewis' proteges LaNce Alexander & Prof. T) was good but it wasn't really post Jam & Lewis because Prof T and Lance Alexander worked on it.
I'm not hating on Wendy but I'm glad she's not there. Because she always hogs the spotlight and lets nobody speak during interviews.
I thought the same thing. It’s good to hear all of the others speak...especially Lisa. She stays so quiet when Wendy speaks. She does musical scoring for Tv and movies w/Wendy, so they still get along well. Wendy is a beautiful talent, and she speaks very truthful and genuine but, there are 4 others in the band that we like to hear from.
Let the church say: Amen🙏🏾👀😳🙄
😆 🤣 😂
can't get over Lisa she's just like wine I always thought she was beautiful but she just get sexyer with time and that sweet voice
Leon might be someone who could play prince
Lisa's voice reminds me of Janet Jackson
Matt was witn the b 52
Tony Stewart When?
