How wonderful. I loved Bobby Z. and so glad he is still with us. His Pocket, he played the songs unselfishly and funky. probably the most Epic combination of musicians with Lisa's sophisticated Musical background ,same for Wendy they grew up together in LA studio Land Dr.Fink amazing musician , Dez , incredible . Brown Mark what a soulful bass player.
Why doesnt this have more views I miss Prince so and Im so glad the Revolution is back❤❤❤❤❤Bravo👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽They sound and look incredible!!!!!!! Love them all
So many people have said that The Revolution never got together before Prince died. They saw themselves as a band, a unit, that had a leader and composer of the music they played. They drew a sell-out crowd even without Prince’s presents. Imagine if Prince had been able to have been there! They would have needed a stadium and would have surely paid every cent of Bobby’s doctor bill plus. Only four years before Prince was gone.
I still say that the Revolution is the weakest band that Prince ever had. Those who know the history and the players can name someone who was better on each instrument than the Purple Rain lineup. Dez was better than Wendy. Almost very drummer Prince had was better than Bobby. Morris Hayes and Renato Neto were better than Lisa Coleman. It gets tighter with Mark Brown and Dr Fink. I think Sonny T gives him a run for the money. If you count Larry Graham as a Prince bassist, that is another story. Fink is the one clear exception. I think this is why he was the last one left from the PR lineup and he was asked to stay on when all of the others were let go or left. Fink and Hayes are the best Prince key men. Overall, every version of the NPG was better than the Revolution
Sheila E. was the best drummer P ever worked with..Mark was the BEST bassist P ever had..Period.. I heard P actually say this..But I won't undermine Bobby because Bobby was the first..Bobby, Fink and Dez were the first so that counts for a LOT..A whole LOT..Lisa was/is an incredible pianist and keyboardist and her vocals along with Jill's and Lisa's and Jill's image broke ground and help pave the way for where P ended up going and wanted to go..Without them, that Ould have not happened in that way..Morris Day was probably a better drummer than Bobby Z but it doesn't matter..Prince has often said that no one could play the drums better than Bobby on the song Purple Rain..
Technically your right - but everybody brought something to the table from Boni to Hannah everyone brought their flavor and then it’s up to the listener to adjust to taste
Everything you say might be true, but the thing about The Revolution is that they were with Prince when he became "Prince." They played a big role in the evolution of his career. He had different and maybe even better players later on, but he owed The Revolution a lot. They brought a lot of creativity and collaboration to the table and their relationship with him at the beginning was instrumental in his development. It's hard to imagine Prince without The Revolution.
@@MsPea Prince was Prince to those of us who knew him BEFORE Purple Rain (ie. his black audience). White people co=opted him after Purple Rain. With that, white people tend to attribute far too much to his mostly white Purple Rain band, the Revolution. In the Purple Rain era, they were the backing band. No matter how much Wendy (and the movie) had led people to believe otherwise, Wendy and Lisa didn't write or help write "Purple Rain". Prince recorded "When Doves Cry" all alone. No one is taking anything from the Revolution - which actually existed when Dez was the guitarist (pre-Wendy). They are not the best band that Prince ever had. They were great but they didnt make Prince. Prince made Prince. That is why he is a legend with no equal.

They are still AWESOME!!!!
Let’s Go Crazy
Purple rain is such a sad song without Prince playing along. But the Revolution goes on and that ain't so bad.
he went to high school with bobby and matt. now that's cool.
The ONLY people missing from this reunion YEARS AGO was Andre Cymone & Prince himself.

˙•٠•●╰დ╮☽♡☾╭დ╯●•٠•˙˙I Love The Revolution❣
i love bobby z.
wendy melvoin: hello wendy. my name is robert.
2012? He died in 2016..
The date is correct.
Exactly! This was a Revolution reunion before Prince died! Obviously, Prince did not participate!

Very sad and uneducated comment here.
