I'm so pleased you had a wonderful time! Hubby and I honeymooned in England and Scotland in 1988. We drove there from Germany (I think I told you this once, so I won't belabor that). Stonehenge was wonderful for me, having only ever read about it in a light non researchy basis. It was, pardon the pun, magical. And yes, I am very jealous you got to see 'Godric's Hollow'. Sheep....they're everywhere in the UK. We saw them all along our drive up through the Highlands and sadly, dead along the roadside much like deer here in the US. I wish I had been as interested in knitting then as I am now...I certainly would have come home with 'wool'! I look forward to other bits and pieces of your trip in future videos.

I've only ever seen London so I was thrilled to do Bath, the Cotswolds, Oxford and Cambridge! Luckily, we didn't seen any dead sheep... all were happy and healthy! I'm trying to work down my stash PLUS we were travelling in carry-ons only so no interest in yarn buying this trip!

So good to see you Margaret! Sounds like you had lovely time in England. Loved seeing your photos! Especially the yarns items. I think I’m going to start working on a scrap yarn wall hanging, the one you showed was beautiful. I thought so anyway. I was telling my husband about your trip and that you were visiting your son stationed there. He wondered were he was stationed, as he was stationed there in the 70’s at Lakenheath. That’s amazing about the little town with items for sale on the honor system. It does your heart to see that in this day and time. Glad you are back and looking forward to seeing more about your trip.😊

Yes! That's where he is but will be leaving on deployment soon to who-knows-where-and-when. Tell your husband that the base looks good and they've done a great job of keeping current with a really nice workout facility, bowling alley, some American fast food places (that, as far as I'm concerned, they could do without!) and varying food trucks that park outside the commissary! Re: that canvas with the crochet... the thing I loved most about it was the careful placement of color. It was rather soothing to the eye when a haphazard placement could have given me a headache! Ha!

Hi Margaret, great to see you again. I love your short color change hat, I would wear that. I don't knit, at least not with needles but with looms and knitting machine. I like the idea of adding a solid color with the short change color yarn, will have to make your crochet hat. Love hearing about your vacation. I would love to learn how to felt. Some of the videos I watched people felting and it is absolutely amazing. Loved hearing from you again.

Using multi-colored yarn interspersed with a solid yarn looks so much better together. What a great idea that I have not tried. Normally, I use a cotton multi-colored yarn when I crochet dishcloths. For that purpose, I like it because it hides a little stain from certain foods. I have found it doesn't create a pattern and looks odd. Maybe, I like things that are more of a pattern than scattered. Great video!

    • @sheepishlysharing

Ooo... good point about hiding stains on dishcloths! I think you're right... we're all drawn to different things. Afterall, art IS subjective. I think my eye prefers more order than randomness, as well.

I think that's another reason why we need to swatch! Ha! Some yarn may not need the addition of a solid to make us smile and yet others may lend themselves to that "division of color" that the additional solid brings. Luckily, there are no rules and we can do what floats our boats!

Ahh... so many people said the same thing about my not buying yarn! See the next video for the explanation!

Now that you mention this, I realize I left out a clip! I have done one color separation many times but when I tried it with this super-short color changes AND the fact that it was a sport weight, there was just not enough separation and there was still a busy pooling effect! Dern it! I'll have to mention that in the next video! Ha!

No, I haven't. I'm not much of a garment knitter/crocheter. Sizing is challenging for me!

Well… there’s not a straightforward answer because it depends on what device you’re using. Usually, it’s under the video and you look for the word “more.” Here’s a link that may help. ua-cam.com/video/M9lmUNw32qw/v-deo.html it’s 2 years old but it will point you in the right direction even if things look slightly different.

Can you tell me if the Sister you made items for her bazaar for her music class is still accepting items now? Also do you have an address or email for her as well? Thank you

I'm sorry to say, Sherry, that Sister died of cancer last year.

@@sheepishlysharing I am so sorry to hear that the Sister has passed. I recently started making plastic canvas coasters for next Christmas. I immediately thought of the Sister and her fundraiser from watching your videos. Maybe I can find somewhere else that can use them or perhaps someone else has taken over the fundraiser now that the Sister is gone? Thank you for letting me know.
