What I'll tell you is good for any sailor, but especially one who wants to do a challenge like that one. There's a series of books called Wilderness Medicine. Some of them tell you how to make medical kits. They are very thorough. They are or were designed for the days when you could be in the wilderness and not be able to get help for yourself or someone else. The medical kits are extensive and its best to get a pharmacist in on what your trying to do so he will fill your requests. For instance, show him the book and describe what you want to do.
Hey I'm an 18 year old kid about to graduate and have been off an on what I've been wanting to do. I've been following your videos from the start because i have a love for travel and adventure. I've been so inspired by your will to just go out and do things and this new adventure your going on I'm really exited to see because it might be a path i take someday!
All of a sudden one of your videos popped up this morning. I was like how did I miss that video. So I was watching it and loving it but I needed to stop for a little bit but when I came back the video was gone. Bummer
"Sheet Happens".... Hopefully. With all that has gone on the trip prep. The "100 day" trip will be a Positive, Enjoyable adventure, For You Both. "Fair Winds and Following Seas"
Glad Nicole is ok! This 100 day survival challenge has so much potential. I'd like to see you guys play out some post apocalypse scenarios. Haha. Make it fun. Have another youtuber try to chase you down. Or you could raid their camp.
Good luck to both of you! Also something I am really curious about after watching your provisions video is Sunscreen!? Do you pack ridiculous amounts or just not use any?
You should try dehydrate your meals 🤷🏽♀️ you can create whole meals with fruits and vegetables with long shelf lives. A couple who walks from Mexico to Canada create meals that only need water to rehydrate and eat on a trail bet that would work for you 🥰 good luck
oh i love that you an nicole got together, first that i've really noticed the spark in you two.. i'm so jellious, i wanted to scoop nicole up myself. she's such a catch dan! cant wait for the 100 day challenge, becuse its my goal to be 100% off grid with Salana. 2500 watts of solar, 1280ah of battery power, and a 48 foot gulfstar and a nice water maker.. not this year, but next winter i will be in the bahamas.. i was hoping this year, but still got some last refitting to do. hope to see you two out there one day and meet you face to face..
This is a good idea for a challenge. It may be interesting to extend to 150 days if the first 100 go well. I like fresh basil and oregano, too, but those planters take up a lot more space than a couple of jars of spices, perhaps grown ashore. On the other hand, as a sort of 'proof of concept,' it could be an interesting idea. If I were going to spend an extended period of time in the tropics, I would have the most powerful antiviral and anti-bacterial prescription drugs made; plus all of the shots. There is a dengue fever vaccine that is only available to people who have had the disease. Any time you are dealing with something like medicine, it is good to do proper research, but to also not get too big of a head and think you have "MD" after your name. How much advice would you take about sailing from someone who has just watched a lot of UA-cam videos compared to a circumnavigator who has been cris-crossing oceans the last 25 years? Knowledge is great, but knowledge combined with much experience and a wider education is superior. I have known a few people who got really nasty cases of malaria in the tropics because they did not take the vaccine. One of my fave UA-cam sailors was cruising around the Solomons and mentioned she had not gotten a malaria vaccine shot and I got quite angry, because that is just plain stupid. Sorry, but it is. I knew a guy who got malaria in the Solomons and would be in bad shape when it came back. Lastly, don't make the mistake of thinking that getting a disease confers lifetime immunity. Sometimes it does, many times it does not.
Off first 1 minutes of her talking had to reply..your go way overkill and she way under kill...she seems like typical women so understand why u fill her void...did yall pass and what happened
I hope you delay in registering your starlink satellite until you get to the Bahamas or Elon Musk may cut off your internet if you're away from your country of registration for 60 days.
I hope you don’t use Dawn in your boat 🛶 it’s a petroleum base product works great to remove the oil and grease but it’s terrible for the fish and the wildlife…… it’s also hard on your skin 😟 Maybe try something that’s biodegradable like simple green -a little kinder to the environment.
Two is better than one. Stick together and enjoy the journey together.
It took forever for us to get out of there, but I'm glad we put in the time to try to do things right! You had a lot of cool projects going on too!

I'm sorry about that. I had mistakenly made it public last week. Check again. It is online now. :)

When someone isn't well, it brings you closer. Hope you are well on your journey...
That standing desk and cushion are super simple and useful. They don’t show the hours and hours of thought behind the designs.
Water making and catchment!
Numero uno!
Loved the sea life and boats from you
I hope you stay happy and enjoy
Your follower from Libya
Better to be ready , than meet a date. Looking forward to your updates.
"Sheet Happens"....
Hopefully.

"Fair Winds and Following Seas"
Y’all should go on the same boat❤
Hi Dan, David from Luperon here?…I hope you finally made it to Bahamas by now…good luck to you an Nicole and have fun!!
Safe travels! Would like to see an inventory of your First Aid kit.
You should make sauerkraut. Pickling food lasts a long time.

That is a killer idea! I love that! Maybe I will...... :)
You had me at free balling....
You guys need a flag! ...peanut butter n jealous here!
Holy shit she was nervous, I was really worried that she was going to have a heart attack
Once it got in the hi 90s here in Florida i started getting bad muscle cramps, i wasnt drinking enough liquids.......
looks like you're ready, just make sure you have enough lentils, rice, and flour lol
Well you could be stuck in Florida......its cold here, in the 30s at night at Palatka
Good luck to both of you! Also something I am really curious about after watching your provisions video is Sunscreen!? Do you pack ridiculous amounts or just not use any?
How are you able to stay off grid for 100 days when the Bahamas are likely to only give you 90 days then you’ll have to apply for an extension?
You check out, and go to remote islands and ais off. If someone comes; you had boat problems! Simple! It’s not a big deal.
You should try dehydrate your meals 🤷🏽♀️ you can create whole meals with fruits and vegetables with long shelf lives. A couple who walks from Mexico to Canada create meals that only need water to rehydrate and eat on a trail bet that would work for you 🥰 good luck
more sailing!
will you guys be sharing things like food and supplies?
or will all that be completely separate?
Hope you packed lots of honey that would be one thing I would pack a lot of.
You could get a job, save some money, then use the money you earned to pay your way.

Mainland life is meh. I miss the Ocean everyday
That dirty faded cracked plexiglass needs changing for sure .
Watch the girl, blood pressure problem and all
You guys should get walkie talkies so you can talk and not over the radios
Lol
I have to wonder what the point of this is?
Bruh you cant lie to us, we know why you cant leave…. Nicoles cooking right? Right? ;)

That is unless you have the package for mariners.
100 days is nothing. If it was 300 days I might be interested.
Think about planting papaya seeds on beaches. They grow like weeds and they grow FAST.
